Oasis Adds Extra Shows to 2025 Tour Amid High Demand For Gallagher Brothers’ Reunion

LONDON — Oasis has added three more dates to its reunion tour of Britain and Ireland, citing “unprecedented demand” for tickets.

The new shows announced Thursday are at Heaton Park in the band’s home city of Manchester, England on July 16, 2025, at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 30 and at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on Aug. 12.

The Britpop-era rock band is now scheduled to play 17 gigs in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin starting at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July 4.

Oasis was one of the dominant acts of the 1990s Britpop era, producing hits including “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” Its sound was fueled by singalong rock choruses and the combustible chemistry between guitarist-songwriter Noel Gallagher and his brother Liam, the band’s singer.

Oasis split in 2009, with Noel Gallagher officially leaving the band after a backstage dustup with his brother at a festival near Paris.

While the Gallagher brothers haven’t performed together since, both regularly perform Oasis songs at their solo gigs. They’ve also each fired off criticisms of the other in the press.

Announcing the reunion on Tuesday, the band said fans would experience “the spark and intensity” that occurs only when they appear on stage together.

The tour will begin July 4 and 5 at the Principality Stadium. Oasis will also perform in Manchester, on July 11, 12, 16, 19 and 20; in London on July 25, 26 and 30 and Aug. 2 and 3; in Edinburgh on Aug. 8, 9 and 12; and Croke Park in Dublin on Aug. 16 and 17.

Tickets go on sale Saturday at 8 a.m. (0700GMT, 3 a.m. EDT) in Ireland and an hour later in the U.K. Fans were also able to apply for a presale ballot to be held on Friday. It’s unclear how many tickets will be issued through the ballot.

Irish promoter MCD says tickets for the Dublin shows will start at 86.50 euros ($96) plus booking fee. Prices for the U.K. gigs have not been announced.

Oasis Announces Reunion Tour After 15 Years of Brotherly War

Liam and Noel Gallagher’s 1990s Britpop band will play dates in Britain and Ireland in 2025.

Two men, with long brown hair and sunglasses, sit in front of a black table with microphones pointed toward them. Behind them, a backdrop has "Oasis" printed on it.

By Ben Sisario

In the list of rock bands considered least likely to bury their hatchets long enough to successfully reunite, the British group Oasis has always been near the very top.

At its peak in the 1990s, Oasis — led by the brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher — exemplified the soaring appeal of Britpop, with anthemic hits like “Wonderwall,” “Live Forever” and “Champagne Supernova” that could produce mass singalongs in any pub or arena. In 1994, the group’s debut, “Definitely Maybe,” rocketed to the top of the British pop chart and became a zeitgeist-defining moment for a new wave of English rock.

But the band kept crashing down to earth, largely through the fisticuffs — verbal and physical — of the Gallagher brothers. In 1995, a 14-minute unofficial CD was released of Noel and Liam getting sidetracked during a journalist’s interview to bicker with each other, loudly and ruthlessly if not quite comprehensibly.

The band split up in 2009 — “I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer,” Noel said at the time — and over the years the Gallaghers have continued to lob public insults at each other.

Now they seem to have reconciled sufficiently to announce a comeback tour in summer 2025, which is to include shows throughout Britain and Ireland, including at least four nights at Wembley Stadium in London. The band announced the tour on its website . In a statement, the band said plans were underway for dates on “other continents outside of Europe later next year.”

“The great wait is over,” the statement added: “Come see.”

The announcement was no surprise. Over the weekend, Oasis posted Tuesday’s date on its website and social media accounts, after days of gossip on social media and detailed reporting from anonymous “industry insiders” in the British news media about an imminent tour announcement. Liam Gallagher himself boosted those rumors. When one fan said he was “scared” about the news to come, Liam answered, “Your scared how do you think I feel.” Streams of the band’s catalog spiked in anticipation .

Tickets for the shows go on sale Aug. 31.

In Britain, Oasis was a phenomenon, selling tens of millions of albums and racking up six Brit Awards, and the Gallagher brothers’ antics guaranteed constant coverage in the news media. But the band never scaled the same heights in the United States. Perhaps that was a result of its quintessential Englishness. More likely, it was self-inflicted: In 1994, when the American rock press was buzzing about Oasis, it put on a notoriously debauched performance in Los Angeles and Noel abandoned the group for a few days.

Oasis has never won a Grammy Award. This year it was nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for the first time but was not inducted .

Since Oasis broke up, Noel has released four albums with his group Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. Liam has released two with his group Beady Eye, three solo albums and one with John Squire of the Stone Roses.

One question left unanswered: Who will play in the band besides the Gallagher brothers? The announcement made no mention, and a spokeswoman for the group did not respond to a question about the lineup.

This week, Oasis is set to release a 30th-anniversary edition of its debut album, “Definitely Maybe,” including early tracks that the band had long considered lost .

Oasis have announced their long-awaited reunion tour , 15 years after the infamous backstage bust-up between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher.

The Manchester-formed group, one of the defining rock bands of the Nineties, split in 2009 after a fiery row in Paris and have not played together since.

In a highly anticipated message, the band announced a run of 14 shows in the UK and Ireland next summer.

“The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised,” the band said.

The dates in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin will be Oasis’s “only shows in Europe next year”, it’s been confirmed. Find details on how to get tickets here.

There have been a number of hints in recent months, not least a surprise interview last week where Noel offered some rare praise of his younger brother. Both he and Liam have enjoyed successful solo careers since their split – Liam as a singer-songwriter and Noel with his band the High Flying Birds.

Rumours of a Liam-Noel reunion have dragged on for as long as a soppy soap storyline but with a renewed love for Britpop and the 30th anniversary of ‘Definitely Maybe’, Mark Beaumont makes the case for why 2024 is the ideal moment for Oasis to reform

John Lennon once said The Beatles were “more popular than Jesus”. A controversial claim, perhaps, but can it really be true that the return of Oasis will be bigger than Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour mania? One music expert thinks so:

Oasis ticket demand will ‘absolutely dwarf’ that of Taylor Swift, says music expert

The demand for tickets to see the rumoured Oasis reunion will “absolutely dwarf” that seen for Taylor Swift’s tour, a music expert has said. Noel and Liam Gallagher seem poised to announce a shock, long-awaited reunion tour on Tuesday 27 August, 15 years after the notorious fallout between the two brothers put the band on hiatus. If they announce a comeback. former music journalist and DJ Kevin McManus believes the fight for seats will be bigger than what any artist has ever experienced. “Taylor Swift is obviously the big deal this summer, but I think it’s going to absolutely dwarf that,” he told ITV News.

Manchester promises ‘good party right across the city’ to celebrate Oasis reunion

Bev Craig, leader of Manchester City Council, who represents the Burnage ward, where the brothers grew up, said the news of the band’s reunion was “massive”.

She told the PA news agency: “I think Oasis is one of Manchester’s most iconic bands in the modern age, and obviously we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make sure that this could come off, and that they’d be able to play in Manchester in a fantastic homecoming gig.

“And I think it’s just really, really great. It’s great for the city, the city’s changed a lot since Oasis were last together, hopefully significantly for the better on the world stage, but we’ll still be really happy to be host to the two Burnage boys as they reunite and come together in (council-run) Heaton Park.”

She added: “I think the whole city will be excited next summer, and I think we’ll no doubt see lots of events and activities that will sit alongside this and really, I think, celebrate it for the moment that it is.

“So I think we’ll make sure that we put on a good party right across the city for people to enjoy.”

Fans concerned about Oasis ticket prices and whether reconciliation will last

Glaswegian David Walker, a leading member of the Oasis Collectors Group, told the PA news agency that he also remains worried about if Liam and Noel Gallagher will make it through their tour without another bust-up .

He said: “You wonder if they’ll make it through the tour, how are they going to rehearse? There’s been so many little infractions with them, you wonder, like, is the old stuff going to come up again?

“But no, ultimately, right now, very positive and yeah, it’s what the people want. It’s what, arguably, Britain might want right now, because, everyone’s fairly depressed and don’t have a lot of money.

“ As long as the tickets are, you know, reasonably priced, I suppose, which they probably won’t be, because there’ll be so much demand, there’s talk of like, 10 nights at London, which that might only be the tip of the iceberg. There might even be more than that.”

Oasis reunion: Everything we know about the Gallagher brother’s tour dates and tickets

R umours of an Oasis reunion have reached fever pitch following a series of cryptic hints shared by Liam and Noel Gallagher in recent weeks.

On Saturday evening (24 August), a report claimed that the rock band, known for hits including “Wonderwall” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger”, are planning a full-scale reunion for 2025, including huge shows in Manchester and London.

Both brothers have shared a countdown to their respective Instagram pages, which features a sign in the style of the Oasis logo with “27.08.24” and “8am” written in the middle.

As the time ticks towards the Britpop group’s hotly anticipated Tuesday morning announcement, here’s everything that has been said about Oasis’ rumoured reunion…

Are Oasis going on tour in 2025?

The only aspect of the Oasis speculation confirmed by the band is that Liam and Noel will make an announcement on Tuesday, 27 August at 8am.

Following reports by the Sunday Times , many believe the brothers will announce a tour, with speculation of dates scheduled at Manchester’s Heaton Park and London’s Wembley Stadium.

It has been claimed Oasis could play as many as 10 nights in Manchester and London, as well as rumoured performances in Scotland and a headline slot at Glastonbury Festival.

A source told the Mail on Sunday : "All the speculation about this reunion can get a bit tiresome. But there’s a genuine feeling that next summer’s Glastonbury will be too much of an attraction for Liam and Noel to turn down.

"They have been made aware of the headline slot that’s open for them next summer. Now it’s all down to them.”

How much will Oasis tickets cost and when do they go on sale?

Both Sabrina Carpenter and Billie Eilish have been criticised by fans this summer for selling “nosebleed” tour tickets for hundreds of pounds, with many Oasis fans concerned tickets to Liam and Noel’s rumoured reunion tour could follow suit.

According to the Manchester Evening News , Oasis tickets could cost over £100 and will go on sale just a week after Tuesday morning’s mysterious announcement.

If Glastonbury rumours prove true, Oasis fans can buy tickets to the festival for £355 plus a £5 booking fee later this year. However, an exact date is yet to be announced by organisers.

The Independent has contacted Noel and Liam Gallagher ’s representatives for comment.

Oasis' Noel and Liam Gallagher confirm 2025 reunion tour dates

Oasis split after a 2009 fight between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher.

LONDON -- Oasis fans have been begging for a reunion for years, and it's finally happening.

Liam and Noel Gallagher of the iconic English rock band announced Tuesday that Oasis will play a series of shows in the U.K. and Ireland in summer 2025.

The reunion marks the first time in 15 years that the brothers are set to reunite. The group famously disbanded in 2009 when Noel Gallagher left due to a fight with younger brother Liam Gallagher.

“This is it, this is happening,” the brothers wrote in identical posts on X early on Tuesday morning.

The Gallaghers confirmed 14 shows spread over five cities -- Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin -- in July and August 2025. Tickets will go on sale at 4 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on Aug. 31. The dates will be "the band’s exclusive European appearances," Noel said in a follow-up post.

"Plans are underway for OASIS LIVE ’25 to go to other continents outside of Europe later next year," the tour's official website noted.

Noel Gallagher shares unreleased Oasis demo; Liam Gallagher responds

Oasis, one of the most successful British rock bands of all time, formed in 1991 in Manchester and rose in popularity with brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher leading the group to stardom.

The band grew in popularity in their native U.K. following the release of their 1994 debut album, "Definitely Maybe," which turns 30 later this week. The group's sophomore effort, "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" released in 1995, brought the band greater success stateside after songs like "Wonderwall" and "Champagne Supernova" became mid-90s radio staples.

"(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" also featured the hit "Don't Look Back in Anger," which Oasis songwriter and guitarist Noel Gallager performed lead vocals on.

In total, Oasis released seven studio albums before their 2009 split, releasing their final album, "Dig Out Your Soul," in 2008.

brothers moving tour dates

The band has three RIAA platinum-certified albums, including "Definitely Maybe," "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?," and "Be Here Now," which came out in 1997.

The group has also notched two RIAA gold-certified hits for "Wonderwall" and "Champagne Supernova," as well as a gold-certified long-form video album for "There and Then," a film covering the band's "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" Tour.

Members from iconic music band's mashup for new show 'Building the Band'

Since splitting, the brothers have pursued careers in their own right, with Noah Gallagher starting Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, while Liam Gallagher started a band called Beady Eye and pursued a solo career.

In 2015, Noel Gallagher told ABC News he was not on speaking terms with his brother. The two have publicly traded insults in statements and comments on social media and through interviews through the years, but it appears they've resolved their differences for the time being.

In recent days, Noel and Liam Gallagher teased the band's reunion by posting the date of Aug. 27 on X.
