I've sailed on 50 cruises. Here are 4 I'd book again as someone without kids.

  • I've been on over 50 cruises with eight different lines and almost always travel without kids .
  • I love Virgin Voyages since the line is dedicated to its adults-only ships.
  • Celebrity Cruises is also a great adult-centric cruise with elevated dining and entertainment.

Insider Today

I've been cruising for over a decade and in that time, I've sailed on more than 50 ocean ships across eight different cruise lines .

Since I don't have kids and rarely travel with children, I've learned that some cruise lines cater to adults better than others.

Here are my top four cruises to book for an adults-only vacation .

I love Virgin Voyages for its clear adults-only policy.

cheeky trip cruises

Virgin Voyages is one of the few major ocean cruise lines that does not allow children under 18, which I enjoy.

The Richard Branson-owned brand is known for its beautiful Lady Ships, which have ample outdoor space and nightclubs and party spots inside.

Unlike other cruise lines, Virgin Voyages' dining concept is truly unique.

You won't find massive rooms or long buffet lines. Instead, the ships have specialty restaurants, including an Italian eatery and a stunning steak house, which are all included in the cruise fare.

I love the line's fast-casual pizza spot, but my favorite place to eat on a Virgin Voyages cruise is Gunbae. The Korean barbecue-inspired restaurant has shared tables with grills in the center and delicious food.

Disney Cruise Line is perfect for adults looking for some childhood nostalgia.

cheeky trip cruises

I love going to Disney theme parks , so it's no surprise that I also love Disney Cruise Line.

The brand definitely leans more into family travel, but there are plenty of dedicated adults-only areas on each of the line's ships.

One of my favorite places to hang out on the Dream or Fantasy ships is Meridian, an adults-only bar nestled between Palo and Remy, the two adults-only dining options.

This space has great views of the ocean and incredible bartenders who can shake or stir up just about anything.

After the sun goes down, the party really gets started at the nightclubs on the Disney ships . On a recent sailing on the Magic, I watched game shows, sang karaoke, and played trivia.

Celebrity Cruises is a great option for luxury sailing.

cheeky trip cruises

I recently tried out Celebrity Cruises for the first time, and it was a luxurious step up from its family-friendly sister company, Royal Caribbean . The cruise line is known for its beautifully decorated ships, intimate spaces, and over-the-top entertainment.

While sailing on the Ascent ship, I spent a lot of time at the Sunset Bar, which features Mediterranean-style drinks , incredible views, and live music in the evenings.

I also loved watching live shows in the theater every night. They combined acrobatics, magic tricks, dancing, and singing into spectacular events that left my jaw on the floor.

Norwegian Cruise Line is perfect for younger adults looking for a fun time.

cheeky trip cruises

I've sailed with Norwegian Cruise Line a few times, and I think it's the perfect brand for young adults. The ships are easy to navigate and feature some of the best staterooms at sea, with plenty of storage.

The top decks of the line's newer ships, like Prima and Viva, feature epic water slides, a go-kart track , and infinity pools overlooking the ocean.

It's certainly geared toward the young at heart, but I think the spaces are ideal for anyone looking for a good mix of fun and relaxation.

I Just Went on a 3-week Adventure Cruise, and These Are the 15 Hiking Items I Used Every Day — From $5

Here’s what you need for your extended adventure at sea.

cheeky trip cruises

Travel + Leisure / Madison Woiten

As someone who tends toward action and adventure, I was thrilled to join two back-to-back cruises with Adventure Canada recently. The first was a 10-day Circumnavigation of Newfoundland , and the next was an Atlantic Island journey that included Sable Island , known for its legendary wild horses and the world’s largest colony of grey seals. Both were active trips that included hiking through dense forests and along rugged coastlines in several National Parks, so I leaned into gear suitable for hiking. However, I also wanted to bring outfits that would allow me to look presentable at dinner, along with options to hit up the sauna and hot tub.

My final cruise packing list was streamlined and very efficient since I wanted it all to fit into a single suitcase and carry-on backpack. In addition to my hiking and eveningwear, I also threw in some swimsuits , cover-ups , comfy walking sandals , and a Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap Bar so I could hand-wash some of my clothes in my bathroom sink instead of paying sky-high laundry fees.

If you’re heading on an extended cruise that involves more adventurous activities, I put together this foolproof cruise packing list that will keep you comfortable and carefree so you can enjoy the sail.

Osprey Tempest Pro 30

Even if you’re not a hiker, you may appreciate a hiking backpack simply because they are more comfortable than most traditional travel packs. As they are designed to carry a lot of weight all day long, they tend to have good weight distribution and suspension, which is the case with this new Osprey backpack, the Tempest Pro 30. I’ve worn it on hundreds of miles of hikes (including several epic hikes on the Adventure Canada cruises), but I also use it as my carry-on bag. It can fit my laptop, headphones, books, and everything I need on the flight, and then it doubles as a daypack and hiking pack during the trip. I also love how much it expands — I wound up buying a ton of glacier water soaps, sea salt, Labrador tea, and wild berry jams in Canada that I needed to find room for in my luggage. Of course, the jam went in my checked Away Trunk suitcase , but everything else fit in this backpack in the overhead compartment.

Thule Compression Packing Cubes

Packing cubes can help you stay organized, but many of them can also compress extra air out of the cubes to save space. These Thule packing cubes do just that, so I can fit more clothes into less space, which is crucial on a three-week cruise since I’m bringing so much extra stuff. (Just be sure not to start your trip with a fully stuffed suitcase, as you won’t have any room for souvenirs!) My strategy is to start the trip without relying on the compression feature, but then use it at the end when I need a bit more space for any fun foods or goodies I like to bring home.

Knockaround Sport Polarized Sunglasses

Good sunglasses are a must for any trip, particularly if you plan on being outside a lot. And because the glare off of water is especially bright and blinding, sunglasses are essential for cruising. These polarized Knockaround glasses are cute, affordable, and durable, so they’re a great choice if you’re on a budget. Their non-slip frames with rubber pads will never slide down your nose (or off your face), and they don’t steam up.

Lululemon Wunder Train High-rise Short

Though I’ve been practicing yoga for years, I only just discovered yoga shorts this year in an attempt to sweat less in Pilates class. Lululemon’s Wunder Train shorts are perfect for yoga, pilates, and any type of workout because they are comfortable, super-stretchy, and dry quickly. As such, I wore them during these cruises for guided on-board yoga, stretch classes, and hiking. I also wore them into the on-board sauna, so these shorts may have gotten more use than any other item I packed. Because they dry quickly, I easily washed them in my cabin sink and re-wore them throughout the trip. I like the 8-inch version because it prevents my thighs from rubbing together, but they also come in shorter lengths.

Smartwool Classic All-season Merino T-shirt

I love Merino wool because it’s soft, comfortable, and versatile enough to be worn in any temperature or season. Moisture wicks away and dries quickly, so you don’t overheat in summer or freeze in winter. I’ve worn this shirt on hot and sweaty hikes in Tucson and Mesa, Arizona, and through chilly fall hikes in New York’s Adirondacks, so I knew I had to pack it for my cruise. Though it’s designed for hiking, I sometimes pair it with khaki shorts or jeans because of the fun, bright colors it comes in (hello, pink and yellow!) that make it a cute all-around top. Because it dries quickly, I washed it in my bathroom sink a couple of times and re-wore it during the trip. I also love that Smartwool is one of few outdoor brands that is using sustainably-sourced wool and has inclusive sizing (up to a 4X).

Smartwool Active Women’s Leggings

These leggings are phenomenal. I originally got them for hiking because, as I mentioned, I’m a big fan of Smartwool’s sustainable sourcing of high-quality materials and prioritizing all-around comfort. The leggings are intended for active women like myself, but I’ve also worn them with cute tops and hoodies. For my cruise, I sometimes wore the leggings for hiking, but I also paired them with pretty blouses for on-board activities. Because I have the all-black pair, they match with just about anything, and the side pockets were perfect for keeping my room and ship key cards nearby.

Altra Lone Peak 8 Trail Running Shoes

I’ve been wearing these Altra shoes (or a previous iteration of them) for several years, and they’re my absolute favorite all-around shoe. They have great grip for light hikes, and the extra-wide toe box makes them comfortable and aids with stability and balance. I also brought these sturdy Vasque hiking boots on the trip, which I wore for several super steep eight-mile hikes, but I mostly wore the Altra shoes for light hikes, exploring cities, and when flying to and from Canada.

MiracleSuit Swim Shorts

I have always been and will always be a swim shorts girl. In my opinion, shorts are far more practical and comfortable than bikini bottoms, and they can work for kayaking, paddle boarding, and other water sports. What I love about these is that they have shapewear built into them to help with shaping and support. MiracleSuit also makes cute tankini tops to pair with them, but I usually just wear my swim shorts with whatever sports bra I had on that day. This way, I get some support from the bra, and I don’t have to wash two tops.

Coolibar UPF 50+ Women's Shoreside Swim Cover-up Dress

I’m a huge fan of Coolibar because they exclusively make sun-protective clothing, from hats and swimsuits to dresses and leggings. This sun-protective cover-up dress is one of my favorites that I’ve owned for about four years, and it’s still in great shape. I wear it over my swimsuit as a cover-up, but I also wear it on its own with leggings and a sweater, or use it as a nightgown. It works triple duty and is unbelievably light and breezy, so it’s perfect for warm climates.

Waterproof Otterbox Fre Phone Case for MagSafe

As expensive as phones are these days, I don’t dare leave my house without a sturdy case. I love this Otterbox Fre phone case because it’s sturdy and waterproof without being too big and bulky. Because I’m not a huge fan of waterproof pouches (which often distort the quality of pictures), I rely on the waterproofness of this case should it drop in the pool or get splashed while kayaking. And because it’s MagSafe compatible, I just bring my wireless power bank off the ship to charge my phone if needed.

Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap Bar

Dr. Bronner’s is one of the most trusted names in the soap game and I’ve been using some variation of their products for nearly 15 years. These handy little bars are solid so they don’t count toward your carry-on liquid count, and because they get used up during your trip, you wind up with more space in your toiletries bag than you started with. Not only do I use this soap to wash my body, but I also use it to scrub my clothes clean in the sink, as mentioned before. (Note that it can also be used for hair, but it leaves it a bit dry.) These natural, organic, and biodegradable bars are also ideal for use on a ship because the water from sinks and showers gets dumped directly into the ocean, which means that any artificial colors, smells, or chemicals in your toiletries also end up in there (which is obviously hugely problematic for the ocean’s plants and animals). Adventure Canada is a sustainably-minded company, so all of the shampoo and soap on board is biodegradable, unlike most cruise companies.

Keen Rose Sandals

Because I don’t want to be stuck in hiking shoes and boots every day, I always pack a pair of sandals. I love the Keen Rose sandals because they work double duty: these adventure sandals have a grippy sole that allows me to do light hikes in them, but they’re still stylish enough cute to wear with dresses, skirts, and leggings. They offer way more support than most sandals, which means I can wear them through a full day of activities and then to dinner without my feet feeling sore or worn down.

Hydro Flask Wide Mouth Insulated Water Bottle

Bottled water is an environmental catastrophe worldwide, and, unfortunately, some behind-the-times cruise ships are still handing out thousands of plastic bottles per day, even in destinations where the local tap water is potable (like Europe). Adventure Canada is ahead of the curve, so they have on-board water filtration and numerous water refill stations around the ship. They even provide each passenger with a free, high-quality metal water bottle, but I love mine so much that I turned it down.

I’ve used this Hydro Flask bottle for several years because it’s rugged, lightweight, and insulated (which I appreciated during several exceptionally hot hiking days). I usually stuff the bottle into the side pocket of my daypack, but because it has a handle, I can also clip it to a kayak or raft with a carabiner.

Arc’Teryx Women’s Beta LT Jacket

This is my all-time favorite jacket and it’s 100-percent worth its price tag. It’s ultra-lightweight and breathable, so you can wear it on its own or layer it over a fleece and bottom layer to use it year-round. I’ve hiked hundreds of miles in it, including frigid treks in Yellowstone this winter and a wet and wild 96-mile hike in the Scottish Highlands last summer. During this three-week cruise, we were mostly blessed with sunny skies, but I was happy to have the jacket to keep me dry during a few rainy city walks and to keep me warm on some windy hikes.

Image Skincare Daily SPF 50 Face Sunscreen Lotion

Sunscreen is an absolute must for any vacation, any time of year, as it’s possible to get sunburn (and to suffer sun damage) even in the winter. My aesthetician put me on to Image years ago, and I’ve been using this facial sunscreen for at least two years. I love how light and clean it feels, versus full-body sunscreens that tend to feel heavy and pore-clogging. I always go with the SPF 50 for max protection, and I buy a big bottle to keep at home. I then transfer into leak-proof travel containers for my trips.

Carnival, Royal Caribbean and more change cruise itineraries amid Hurricane Ernesto

Cruise lines are changing itineraries in an effort to avoid Hurricane Ernesto . The storm brought heavy rain and wind to Puerto Rico Wednesday, leaving close to half the island without power and prompting flash flood warnings. The Virgin Islands also felt the impacts.

Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Pride ship, which left from Baltimore for a Bermuda cruise on Sunday, moved its visit to the island up by one day, arriving on Tuesday and leaving on Thursday, the cruise line said.

Carnival Magic skipped a planned stop in San Juan on Wednesday and will make an additional stop in Nassau in the Bahamas on Friday. The ship left Miami on Sunday for an Eastern Caribbean cruise.

“As the safety of our guests and crew is our priority, we will continue to watch the storm and factor in guidance from the National Hurricane Center, U.S. Coast Guard and the local port authorities to provide timely updates as more information becomes available,” the cruise line said in a news release .

Norwegian Cruise Line rerouted Eastern Caribbean cruises on its Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Breakaway ships to the Western Caribbean, according to a spokesperson. The ships departed from Miami on Monday and Sunday, respectively.

Their new itineraries include Roatan in Honduras, Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico and Harvest Caye in Belize (Sky will also stop in Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios in Jamaica).

Was your cruise itinerary changed?: Here's what to do next

Norwegian Joy , which left for a Bermuda cruise from New York on Sunday, arrived at the island on Tuesday, one day ahead of schedule. While the ship will spend two nights at the Royal Naval Dockyard as planned, it will depart Thursday, a day earlier than planned.

“The safety and security of our guests, crew and the communities we visit is a top priority,” a spokesperson said in an emailed statement.

Royal Caribbean International’s Rhapsody of the Seas will make planned stops on its Southern Caribbean cruise in a different order, but no ports were canceled, according to a spokesperson for the line’s parent company, Royal Caribbean Group . The ship departed from San Juan on Sunday.

Icon of the Seas , which departed from Miami on Saturday, is sailing a Western Caribbean itinerary rather than an Eastern Caribbean cruise as planned. Stops include Cozumel, Costa Maya and Roatan.

Symphony of the Seas, which left from Bayonne, New Jersey , for an Eastern Caribbean cruise on Friday, will also visit Nassau rather than Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.

Top Labor Day Travel Trends of 2024

Aaa booking data shows alaska cruises, european cities, and tourist attractions are most popular.

cheeky trip cruises

WASHINGTON, DC (Aug. 19, 2024) – This year’s record-breaking , blockbuster summer travel season comes to a close with many Americans exploring Alaska by cruise. According to AAA booking data, Seattle is the number one Labor Day weekend* destination, up nearly 30% from last year when it also topped the list. Anchorage and Juneau are also on the top ten list of Labor Day destinations.

“This is the time of year to go on an Alaska cruise,” said Paula Twidale, Senior Vice President of AAA Travel. “There are fewer crowds compared to earlier in the summer, and if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of fall colors! It’s no surprise Alaska cruises are sold out this Labor Day weekend.”

AAA travel experts say if you’re interested in going on an Alaska cruise next summer, the time to book is now to lock in the best rate and ensure you get the type of cabin you want.

According to AAA booking data, o verall domestic travel over Labor Day weekend is up 9% compared to last year , while the cost to travel domestically is down 2%. Other top Labor Day destinations include Orlando, New York, Boston, Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, and San Francisco. For many families, Labor Day is the last hurrah before school begins. To make the most of those trips, AAA recommends identifying must-see sights and creating a flexible itinerary ahead of time. “ Trip Canvas is a great free resource for travelers in the planning phase,” Twidale said. “You can find free things to do in Denver or the best museums in New York City .”

Travelers taking road trips should expect to pay less for gas compared to last year. The national average over Labor Day weekend in 2023 was $3.81. In recent weeks, gas prices have remained steady, hovering around $3.50. Despite the popularity of summer road trips, overall gas demand is down as daily driving habits have changed post-pandemic, preventing pump prices from spiking. Hurricanes hitting the Gulf and affecting regional refineries could cause gas prices to go up as the peak of the season approaches in September. For drivers taking road trips in their electric vehicles, AAA now offers information on the cost of Level 2 commercial EV charging and updates that data weekly .

International travel over Labor Day weekend is down 4% compared to last year, per AAA booking numbers , while the cost to travel internationally is up 11%. Most of those travelers are heading to Europe. Eight out of the top ten international destinations booked through AAA are European cities. Travelers renting a car abroad should consider getting an International Driving Permit (IDP), which translates their driver’s license information into 10 languages. Some countries – including Italy and Spain – require it. AAA is the only entity in the U.S. authorized by the State Department to issue an IDP.

Best and Worst Times to Travel by Car over Labor Day Weekend

INRIX , a provider of transportation data and insights, says car travelers should avoid the afternoon and early evening hours of Thursday and Friday, as those times will be the most congested. Drivers should hit the road in the morning unless they’re leaving on Saturday when the best time to travel by car is in the afternoon. Travelers returning on Sunday and on Labor Day should leave as early as possible to avoid heavy traffic in the afternoon.

“Drivers should expect the most severe traffic jams before the holiday weekend as commuters mix with travelers,” said Bob Pishue, transportation analyst at INRIX. “Monitoring traffic apps, local news stations, and 511 traveler information services may help drivers navigate around congestion and reduce driver frustration this Labor Day.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s 3-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, is shaping up to be a confident little girl with a strong voice — and her parents couldn’t be prouder.

The Duchess of Sussex reflected on Lilibet’s growth during a panel discussion titled “Afro-Descendant Women and Power: Voice of Equity” with Colombian Vice President Francia Márquez on Sunday during the final stretch of the couple’s four-day trip to Colombia.

“I know how it feels when you don’t utilize your voice when you need to be heard or have something to say,” Markle told the crowd while discussing the topic of empowering women of color.

Late-Summer Travel Plans? You Might Want to Put On a Mask.

With U.S. Covid-19 cases at very high levels and new vaccines still several weeks away, we asked experts for their advice on when and where to wear a mask.

  • Share full article

A young man wears a mask while walking through an airport with a light blue carry-on bag.

By Ceylan Yeğinsu and Dani Blum

It is the height of the summer travel season: Airplanes and cruises are packed, hotels are booked, and travelers are crowding theme parks and attractions. Yet throughout the United States, Covid-19 is currently circulating at very high levels.

During the peak of the pandemic, masks were ubiquitous in hotels, airports and other public places. They were required to fly , and many travelers donned them elsewhere to help reduce the transmission of the deadly coronavirus. Since the end of the mandate, and as travel has returned to or surpassed prepandemic levels , most travelers have abandoned preventive measures, particularly masks.

With updated vaccines not available until the fall , experts are reminding travelers about the benefits of masking, particularly in airports and poorly ventilated indoor environments.

Here’s what you need to know about masks and your travel plans.

What’s going on with Covid right now?

The number of reported cases appears to be climbing both in the United States and abroad. In the United States, there are “very high” levels of the virus in wastewater samples nationwide, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The World Health Organization reported that cases around the globe rose by 30 percent from June 24 to July 21, compared with the previous 28 days. Put simply: There’s a lot of Covid out there.

How effective are masks? What is the best mask to use?

People who want to minimize their risk of respiratory illnesses like Covid (along with colds and the flu) should wear a mask while traveling, experts say. Even if you’re the only person wearing one on a train or at an airport, a mask continues to offer protection — provided you wear it properly, which means covering both your nose and your mouth.

“It does not eliminate the risk, but it substantially reduces the risk of exposure,” said Dr. Ziyad Al-Aly, the chief of research and development at the Veterans Affairs St. Louis Healthcare System, in Missouri. Aim for a high-quality mask, like an N95, a KN95 or a KF94 , all of which filter out the overwhelming majority of virus particles and are far more effective at reducing the chance of a Covid infection than cloth or surgical versions. Masks should fit snugly on your face.

“If you have symptoms and you have any question about it, I would wear a mask, just to protect other people,” said Dr. Marc Sala, a co-director of the Northwestern Medicine Comprehensive Covid-19 Center in Chicago. Common symptoms of Covid include coughing, fever, sneezing, congestion, headaches, sore muscles, fatigue and gastrointestinal issues . Those who are asymptomatic but have been exposed to Covid may also consider masking.

If you have tested positive during a trip but cannot delay traveling, you should wear a mask whenever you are around other people, Dr. Sala said.

Where should travelers wear a mask?

The C.D.C. urges travelers to “consider wearing masks in crowded or poorly ventilated indoor areas, including on public transportation and in transportation hubs.”

Dr. Al-Aly recommended carrying around a few masks in your bag or pockets, so that you have them on hand when you enter a crowded indoor space. “Maintain situational awareness,” he said. If you’re in a crowded indoor space, like a train station or busy museum, you may want to put on a mask. Although airplanes filter and circulate air , there is still a risk that comes with being in close quarters with large groups of people, Dr. Al-Aly said.

What is the travel industry’s stance on masking?

The mask mandate on airplanes became a heated issue at the height of the pandemic, with travel representatives arguing that it was harming the recovery of a hard-hit industry.

The U.S. Travel Association , a trade group that promotes travel to and within the country, believes mask wearing should be up to individual travelers. It welcomed the lifting of the mask mandate on U.S. transportation in 2022, calling it “a step further toward the endemic management of Covid.” That stance has not changed.

The International Air Transportation Association , another industry group, argues that aircraft are designed to reduce the transmission of viruses on board. “Cabin air is refreshed every two to three minutes — much more frequently than most other indoor environments,” the agency said in a statement. “It is also filtered and flows from ceiling to floor, all of which helps to maintain a healthy onboard environment.”

Passengers always have a choice to wear masks, the statement continued, and many airlines provide them upon request.

Major cruise lines do not require guests to wear masks, but passengers are required to undergo a health screening before boarding a ship, and some companies, including Carnival Cruise Line, encourage passengers to be up-to-date with Covid vaccines.

Great cheeky trip away!!!

We stayed at the hotel for a hen doo, it was a gorgeous hotel ,the pool was right next door with plenty of sun loungers and shaded areas and a lovely cafe serving all your needs, hotel was so clean and comfortable, staff were great. Its a short walk to the beach and once you purchased your sunbed for the day for £7 your set to relax, night life in the old town was amazing with families out till late, the strip for the hen doo evenings was as expected ,great all round experience.

An amazing sunny short break

We had an amazing short break to Marakech staying at the Labranda Targa Club Aquapark. A little child-free escape for me and my partner but as soon as we saw the lovely slides we wished we'd taken our children 🤣 The hotel was very clean and comfortable with a great choice of food. Marakech itself is such a unique and beautiful place to visit. We loved making use of the free hotel bus and taking a trio into the medina for exploring and shopping. We've been to this hotel twice and would recommend and definitely return. Hopefully cheeky trip have some more great deals in the future for this hotel.

SCAM and then some...CheekyTrip.Com…

So I found a holiday on CheekyTrip.Com which was listed as £392 per person to Portugal for 7 days, baggage stated (Ryan Air) would be from £12 and transfers would be from £11. I rang the number given and spoke to a representative from god knows where who quoted me a price of £1499 and £35 per person for transfers and £90 per baggage per person. WOW.....WOW. Site deleted, phone numbers deleted, never ever will use this scam company \ site ever again.

I will never book with these people…

Will never book with these people again, paid for transfer and 3 of the 5 of us were not booked in properly! Had to pay for a taxi to other side of Spain, was told that it would be refunded same day, spent part of the holiday petrified that return transfer would be messed up too and we would miss our flights! I'm back in England now and still having to ring every day to try get my money back. Keep being fobbed off by different people. Off to Bulgaria September certainly will not be putting my holiday in their hands again.

Avoid! Scam

Avoid!! This company uses third party scammers (Holiday Globe) to fool you into handing over your money and then no holiday booking exists! I booked, paid, received confirmation then when I spoke to Ryanair about my baggage allowance they told me there was no such booking, same with the hotel! Do not book with this company With regards to your response, firstly you can't even get my name right and secondly I used the live chat on YOUR WEBSITE (Cheeky trips) and was transferred to scammers who stole my money. Take some responsibility. They are using company names such as holiday dew, holiday globe, sky blue holidays, Travelopedia, they are all over your site scamming people !! Do something about it or my review stays! Edit: I have wrote above what the company is called. HOLIDAY GLOBE. They also use names such as sky blue holidays & Travelpedia

Scam scam scam. Prices arent as advertised, staff are rude and unhelpful, holiday price almost doubled, baggage costs extortionate and transfers are a rip off. Then promise call backs which never come, and then finish off by denying any accountability.

Auramare Beach Resort Hote

Auramare Beach Resort Hotel was really great. A lot of stairs, so probably not the best if you are struggling with stairs, but we really enjoyed it. Beautiful walks around the hotel, by the beach. Staff was very polite, food was great and a lot of choices.

Cheekytrip had some great offers

Cheekytrip had some great offers. I spoke with Harry from holiday globe and he helped with everything, sorted transfers, ensured we were together on the plane. We had a 5 night 4 day trip to Barcelona, the hotel was very loud but that's not the fault of the provider, just the guests. Have read a lot of reviews stating they were scammed. We paid £1250 in total after adding on an extra night and transfers, all inclusive, flights and small bags each on the plane with us sat together, for 5 nights in Barcelona. Great! We wasn't scammed and Harry was the other end of an email if ever I needed a question answered like the email address for check in. I would happily use the service again. Just not the hotel.

Hi members can i ask has any of you used this company to book holidays and how did it go? Sometimes things are too good to be true and i normally book travel ,holidays with my credit card just for that little bit of security. The prices i am getting are very good but would like some replies before i do anything. Thanks very much in advance.

Yep thanks for your reply. Im just going to forget them. Im only saving 200 pounds and thinking its not worth the worry. Not 1 single complaint about them can i see on their facebook page i find strange are they really that good?

If there aren’t any complaints they may be good, or they may be new, or the problem isn’t them, but the companies that advertise there.

Do you blame the TV channel if something that advertises there doesn’t work?

Over 50% of their reviews on Trustpilot are bad. So, no, they are not that good

https://au.trustpilot.com/review/www.cheekytrip.com

This is even more telling. https://www.scamadviser.com/check-website/cheekytrip.com

Looks like another business entity of Holiday Discount Centre ... according to their Terms & Conditions. HDC Travel Ltd. is shared. I guess what all these 3rd (and 4th) party OTA's are doing, is setting up advertising and platform portals for their own brands. My advice is be careful.

Yes thanks to you all.

Just been turkey with them great

Great, Jeanette! Tell us about the trip! Do some reviews!

TODAY - Been on livechat for 2 hours trying to get a price for holiday. Online shows as £172 pp - they said 22 per return transfer so should be 388 altogether - after over 2 hours of hassle they came back and said online price now shows £679. Total waste of time. Much cheaper booking elsewhere and saving your time with this sham of a company. They still advertising the £172 price for these dates!!

Don't do it. We were miss sold our holiday. You never get the prices advertised. I feel conned and will be taking legal action.

A 10 Out of 10 Day!

Is milford sound best seen in the wet or dry.

Regardless of the weather Milford Sound is breathtaking.

Though different weather conditions bring different experiences, one is not better than the other.  In fact, we recommend seeing Fiordland in both settled and wet conditions if possible, as they both really are spectacular in their own right.

A Rainy Day at Milford – Something to Celebrate

Do not let possible rain put you off when planning a trip to Fiordland!

As one of the wettest places on Earth (and the wettest in New Zealand), it’s a good thing that the region is spectacular in the rain.

First of all, the cruise boats offer complete shelter from the elements (and tea, coffee and biscuits, if you do need to warm up after braving the rain).

In addition, you’ll be able to choose just which stops you venture out of our van – opting to stay dry inside if you’d prefer.  We do recommend bringing a rain jacket and umbrella though – after all, it’s not every day you find yourself right in the middle of the most beautiful place on Earth!

In the fiord, many are surprised to learn that there are only two permanent waterfalls in the fjord – Lady Bowen Falls and Stirling Falls. The latter is three times the height of Niagara Falls and a breathtaking sight to behold.

When it rains though, hundreds of temporary waterfalls explode into life.  Not only do they cascade down the fiord, but they also feed into Lady Bowen Falls and Stirling Falls, making them even more powerful!

With waterfalls springing up faster than you can count, and the rainforest lush thanks to the downpour, this is Milford at its best.

Sunshine Galore – Have Your Camera at the Ready

Though we adore Milford in the rain, there are a few advantages to venturing into the fiord on a calm, still day.

When the wind is low and there’s no sign of rain, turn your eyes to the water.

Milford produces the most amazing mirror reflections – just like you’ll see at the Mirror Lakes, but better!

Watch as the mountains and forests reflect back on themselves.

This mind-bending optical illusion will have you wondering which way is up and marvelling at the beauty of the national park.

And of course that’s not to mention the added bonus of a sunny day – you won’t get wet!

A boat sailing on a lake between mountains

Wet or Dry, Milford Sound is Simply Marvellous
