No actual experience, but generally using timeshare points or credits are a lousy use of your MF dollars. But here's how you can compare. Get an offer from Westgate for what cruise xxx would cost after depositing your week. Then add what your MF is. Then go to a site like www.vacationstogo.com and check what that exact cruise sells for in cash. You'll probably find your timeshare doesn't reduce the price by much. Jim

The purchase of Westgate Resorts…

The purchase of Westgate Resorts timeshare has been the worst ill-advised decision we have ever made. The misrepresentation of Westgate only continues to get worse as more customers have come forward with the same complaints and cases even worse based on online reviews, there are some true horror stories, just like ours! We have since tried to rent out our timeshare to a 3rd party.  When asked for the dates of availability for stays we were not able to get confirmation. The 3rd party scheduler has stated that Westgate Resorts would not allow them to confirm dates needed. We were told that availability would never be a problem at Westgate. That was false. We have not been able to take advantage of our timeshare even once in our 3.5 years of "ownership." We were told that Westgate resorts would be exclusive to timeshare owners. Also, false. We regularly find rooms available to the public via third-party booking platforms such as Expedia or Hotels.com. We were told we'd be able to profit and build equity with this timeshare. Not only is this false, but it has been a net negative asset for us as it is a heavily cost burdensome for us. So not only do we not use our timeshare, but we also are paying a heavy price for all sorts of lies from a greedy sales team.

Lies, fake prices,

Lies, lies & lies, don't ever take free stuff or listen to anything these people say, just trying to rope you in some bs condo, that you are practically stuck with for the rest of your life, especially here in Las Vegas, stay away! Save your self! They offered me a used condo for $24,999 I said no, they continued to drop until $7000 dollars probably would go even lower?

I celebrated my birthday at Westgate Resorts, and the staff went the extra mile to make it special. The villa was immaculate, and the birthday cake they surprised me with was delicious!

westgate pressure sales and lies that I incurred

Over the past two years we have experienced a myriad of issues regarding the cost, availability, and general usability of our timeshare. The lack of information during our sales presentation (and overall misinformation) resulted in us purchasing a timeshare that wasn’t properly explained. To date, we have not used the timeshare nearly enough to justify its cost, which mainly comes down to the lack of availability. We are fed up with lies and deceit and want to get out of this nightmare as soon as possible. During the sales pitch, the representative kept pitching latest ideas and trips to convince us to buy. In fact, they specifically mentioned that I would have access to Disney theme parks as a benefit of upgrading my contract. I received a letter dated 9/1/22 claiming that our Vacation Traveler account was expiring or had expired, even though we weren't owners at that time. Mentioning a requirement to complete occupancy within 27 months of the contract date, with a copy of the letter attached. I couldn't get any assistance to understand this additional contract. I didn't want to feel trapped again, especially with Westgate potentially adding charges to my credit card and pressuring me to spend more on the Vacation Traveler account. Several different managers, higher up in the chain of command, offered us supposedly better deals on maintenance fees and lower mortgage amounts. Despite my repeated refusals, they wouldn't let us leave and kept presenting different figures to confuse us. Everything they do is rooted in deceit and distraction to fraudulently seize your money!

Our weekend at Westgate Resorts was everything we hoped for. The infinity pool was stunning, and the sunset views were breathtaking. Highly recommend for a peaceful retreat.

I went to a timeshare presentation in…

I went to a timeshare presentation in Orlando and it was fast paced and high pressured from the start. It took hours and I had 4 small children with me so it was a nightmare because it took so long we became very, very impatient. Used the timeshare once in Tennessee because nothing was available because of covid. Nothing was available after that so I wanted out and Westgate was not having it. Long story short after months of lies and no cooperation I deed the time share back to Westgate for $3000 cost to then. They made money on the way in and out. Scam, scam, scam!!

Very clean unlike the Strat…the maids…

Very clean unlike the Strat…the maids are routine and no one had an attitude. The only issue were the elevators skipping past you a lot but that’s a third party issue. The Elvis impersonnater was good. The food was disappointing,..even the breakfast.

Beware of Westgate Resort Orlando - Unfulfilled Promises and Inaccessible Booking After being a timeshare owner at Westgate Resort Orlando for over 18 years, I am utterly disappointed and feel compelled to warn potential buyers about their practices. Despite owning a timeshare apartment here, I have not been able to use it even once. Every attempt to book, even when calling a year in advance, ends with the same response: "not available, book earlier." This has been a consistent issue, rendering the timeshare completely useless to me. It's frustrating to see that all the negative reviews I overlooked before signing up were accurate. Westgate has failed to deliver on their promises of accessible vacation options, effectively locking me and possibly many others out of enjoying what we have paid for. I strongly advise potential timeshare buyers to read the reviews and consider them seriously before committing. In my experience, Westgate Resort operates like scammers, taking your money without delivering the services promised. Proceed with extreme caution!

This whole fiasco with Westgate Resorts began when we were approached at Universal Studios in Orlando about attending a brunch at Westgate Resorts and receiving money "for our time". We were intrigued by the opportunity, but we expressed our skepticism. The representative told us that all we needed to do was eat, listen to the presentation, and then we would receive the money. Hearing this, we agreed to attend. Instead of simply sitting through brunch and listening for an hour, we were pestered by a sales representative for EIGHT hours. From the beginning, her sales pitch was misleading. She claimed that Westgate was an investment and an opportunity to travel across the world. Obviously, this was appealing to us. If, however, she told us the truth then we would've turned our tail and left. The contract review was incredibly brief, and we felt rushed through the entire process. At no point did anyone ever disclose our Total Interest Percentage, the terms of our loan, or inform us that we had a period of rescission. Had any of this pertinent information been relayed to us then we wouldn't have signed anything. Westgate employees lied to us and coerced us into signing a contract that they failed to accurately describe to us.

This message is a complaint

This message is a complaint And a warning against buying a timeshare at Westgate properties. In 2018, my and an associate attended a sales presentation at Westgate in Orlando Florida. After a pressure filled presentation and a supervisor brought in. After numerous lies, half truths and promises which were never kept we entered into an agreement to purchase at Westgate Towers. After returning home my associates and I had second thoughts the associate was let out of the contract and Westgate began to come after me. I notified them I was not attending the resort and would like to be let out of the contract. It has been a six year ordeal and I’ve never stayed at the property. The company who did not have my SSN during the signing explicitly told me the contract would not impact my credit as they did not report to the credit bureau. This was a lie. When I discovered the derogatory report on my credit, I was then tricked into another contract but they said I had to pay extra to have it cleared from my credit. Then Covid hit, and the Westgate Towers were empty as travel was restricted etc etc. they never offered me relief. In 2022 I lost my job, went through a divorce, had a nervous break down and eventually a heart attack. I was placed on disability. I notified Westgate of my situation and they claimed the only way to resolve the issue is to sign another contract and pay another fee to remove a derogatory report to the credit bureaus. As I was struggling with depression they took advantage of me. I send emails and call asking to speak to management, only to be told a supervisor would call and never received a call. I feel defrauded and taken advantage of as I have never spent on night at the Westgate Resort. I contacted a timeshare exit company and they wanted $5000 to assist me. I advise anyone to never do business with Westgate Resorts as I am now forced to fill a complaint with State Representatives, Attorney General to get justice

The workers didn’t care that some of…

The workers didn’t care that some of the workers there take pictures of people’s cards & use them to buy plane tickets & whatever else . They said “ it’s policy to take the card for a free breakfast “ they ignored the fact that their workers are taking pictures & selling the card info or using it for their own . I’ll never recommend anyone to stay here .

Wow! I am so glad we dodged a bullet. I've been receiving countless emails frim this establishment. After reading their terms & conditions, I quickly realized that this is NOT a business I want to support. What took me by surprise was their relationship status. Single father's with children would not meet their requirements. It's also concerning that you MUST be English speaking (excludes Orlando) I'm not an attorney, but this seems illegal. However- who knows, corps get away with so much. Now, I'm just so happy I read the reviews! I will NEVER stay at any of their resorts.

SCAM SCAM SCAM

SCAM SCAM SCAM! I was scammed into a contract with Westgate Resorts. I was told I could get out of the contract at any time if I was not satisfied with the services. I paid on this timeshare about 3 years, this included monthly payments and maintainance fees. I tried to contact Westgate to resolve the contract but was told I could not do so. I was never able to use the original property I bought into. I was told it was always booked. Whatever you do stay away from timeshare!

Lied too multiple times was told we…

Lied too multiple times was told we would have our "trip package" (which we "won") canceled. Had called 5 diffrent times in the 30 day cancelation period to cancel the package each time we where told it would be canceled. Each time they lied after the 10-14 days we should have gotten our money back there was nothing so we called again!!! Come to find out they never canceled it in the first place we where lied to every time ON RECORDED LINES. Even given a fake confirmation number by one rep who said he processed the cancelation. We found this out after calling back yet again and escalating it up to managnent. I will turn this into the attorney general if my funds are not back in my account in 2 weeks no doubt. We recorded the calls we made today and made them send us an email today stating the order has been canceled just incase they lied again and this needs to be escalated to legal. Done with these bozos.

RUN AWAY FROM WESTGATE !

RUN AWAY FROM WESTGATE !! They've earned their terrible reputation. They messed up paperwork for our scheduled timeshare tour. When we took the rescheduled tour, all went well until we got to the very noisy, Orlando, FL closing room high pressure "buy it now" tactics. Finally, after numerous "NO" 's, to numerous salespeople, they signed off on our guest voucher. For messing up original appointment, they offered a related vendor "Vacation Of A Lifetime" two night coupon. Shame on Westgate for being associated with THAT total scam outfit, operated under ETTS, Inc. Timeshare's have a well deserved horrible reputation, for good reason. AVOID WESTGATE and do business with ethical companies.

Worst buy ever

The volume of false claims made by Westgate Resort employees is shocking. I was told that I could use this to make a second income which led to me making the foolish decision to agree to purchase the timeshare. I was so confused with all the false claims and inaccurate figures, and the salesperson’s coercive nature made me feel like I needed to sign a contract immediately. The following day, April 25th, 2024, I called the salesperson multiple times to let him know that I wanted to cancel my contract immediately. The salesperson refused to help me, so I returned to the office to cancel the timeshare in person. I met with a woman who notarized my documents the day before. She told me to write a cancellation letter, which I did. When I handed the cancellation letter to her, she returned and presented me with two properties. Both were far cheaper than what I originally paid for, and when I asked how she was able to lower the prices, she told me that someone had just upgraded, and I only had to pay the leftover mortgage. She told me that it would be foolish of me to cancel the timeshare contract when I could use one of the cheaper options, she presented me with to make money. I was within my rescission period and just wanted to cancel my contract but was effectively told that my only option would be to purchase a different, cheaper property. I am fed up with the run around by this unethical company and their sleezy employees. I just want to be released from this horrid contract immediately. It was presented to me dishonestly and all the ‘benefits’ associated with my purchase turned out to be lies. My consumer rights were violated because the employees essentially ignored my letter demanding the cancellation, within the period provided by law in Florida. Now all they do call demanding money that I have no intention of paying them. Westgate Resorts should be ashamed of themselves for preying on a single mother.
