It cooks up in one pan, with queso fresco, lime, cilantro, and jalapeno peppers, for a South-of-the-border side dish that tastes just like the cheesy corn cobs sold at street food stands in Mexico.

Turkey Sloppy Joes

The Spruce/Diana Rattray

Ground turkey makes these kid-friendly sloppy Joes lower in fat than the kind made with beef. They cook up in one pan, for a leaner, looser, burger-style dinner, without the need to fire up the grill. The Spruce / Diana Chistruga

You can toast the bread on the grill and top with ketchup, if you like.

The Spruce / Rachel Riesgraf

These easy chicken tenders are marinated in  Caesar salad dressing , and then they're grilled to perfection. Serve the chicken breasts whole or slice into strips for an easy salad topper along with any extra dressing. Marinate the chicken in advance, so you can pop it onto the grill for quick cooking at dinnertime.

Seattle Hot Dogs

The Spruce/Leah Maroney

You don't have to travel to Washington state to enjoy Seattle hot dogs . A game day staple in the Emerald City, they are a delicious combo of hot dog and bagel that work great for camping lunches. You make them by splitting open hot dogs, for girdling and topping with sautéed onions, softened cream cheese, jalapeños, mustard, and optional hot sauce.

Campfire Smoked Tuna Dip

The Spruce/Todd Coleman

You don't technically need a campfire to make this delectable tuna dip snack , but it's definitely best done outdoors. Kids will love watching you perform the magic trick of "cooking" canned, oil-packed right in the can, with Greek yogurt and paprika to turn it into a dip. Plate it with crackers or veggie sticks to hold the family over until dinner.

Country Breakfast Skillet

The Spruce/Maxwell Cozzi

Whether you're camping, or waking up at home, this old-fashioned country breakfast skillet always hits the spot. It's a hearty, one-pan cook-up with all of the breakfast favorites, including eggs, potatoes , bacon, and cheese, plus chopped peppers and onion for savory flavor and color. Breakfast isn't just for the mornings, so make this for a fun dinner option.

They cook up nice and juicy on the outdoor grill, just as you like them.

French Fries on the Grill With Cheese and Bacon

With a pouch of frozen fries, prepared bacon bits, American cheese, and a bit of butter, you've got the makings of a crave-worthy lunch , hearty side dish or snack. Easy Black Bean Salad

The Spruce / Stephanie Goldfinger

With protein-packed beans, sweet corn, juicy tomatoes, and creamy avocado in a zesty lime vinaigrette, this picnic-ready bean salad is a tasty vegetarian lunch that packs well for taking on family vacations. You can also enjoy it for a light vegetarian lunch or barbecue side dish , with no cooking required. You can use canned or frozen corn in place of the cobs for easy prep.

Vegan Blackened Grilled Tofu

The Spruce / Julia Hartbeck

Blackened seasoning is a fragrant and flavorful  seasoning blend  used on all sorts of proteins to give the outside a dark and charred crust when cooking in a cast-iron skillet.  Tofu gets a level up with a potent mixture of spices that will make the whole family dance. It happens all in one pan, simplifying both prep and clean-up when you're not in your own kitchen.

Anticuchos de Carne

The Spruce/Nita West

Satisfy a carnivore craving with these tasty grilled beef skewers that are great for a family barbecue or camping holiday. Place the meat in the delicious, Peruvian-style marinade before you leave home, for meat that is nicely tenderized and infused with massive flavor by the time you thread it onto skewers, and place it on the grill for cooking.

Quick and Easy One-Pot Spaghetti Dinner

Does the thought of skipping pasta night make you sad? We've got you covered with this clever, one-pot spaghetti dinner that feeds a family, and is easy to pull off even when you're roughing it. Kids and adults alike will love the meaty sauce, which uses ground beef and convenient store-bought spaghetti sauce (or your own marinara sauce from home).

Black Bean and Mango Salad

The Spruce Eats / Emily Hawkes

Black beans and  mangoes  combine with fresh bell pepper, jalapeño peppers, and cilantro in this simple vegetarian, vegan, high-protein, bean salad . This vegan salad requires few ingredients making prep 10 minutes or less.

Vegetarian Boston Baked Beans With Molasses

Homemade vegetarian baked beans are a great and traditional addition to a picnic, outdoor vegetarian or vegan barbecue, or to bring to any summer potluck. Plus, this recipe is easy to make in large quantities and just about everybody will love these sweet baked beans, even kids! Turn this one pot dinner into a meat lover's party by stirring in pulled pork or chicken, if desired.

Grilled Brown Sugar Bananas

Grilled bananas  are a delicious side dish to accompany savory foods and makes an excellent and easy dessert. Because of their thick and firm texture, bananas are a great fruit to grill when barely ripe, so for this recipe choose firm yellow bananas and not too mature ones, as the heat will cook them to mush.

Brown Butter Rice Krispie Treats

The Spruce Eats / Pete Scherer

Rice Krispie Treats are a classic dessert that require one pot, little cooking, and some patience. With updated ingredients and a couple of simple tweaks, this recipe for brown butter rice krispie treats restores that bygone “wow!” Make sure you have a baking dish or cake pan along to set the treats for later.

7 Time-Tested In-Camp Breakfast Recipes

Waking up in camp is always exciting.

But I can never quite get rolling first thing in the morning until I’ve had something to eat ( and a coffee ).

Here are a few delicious recipes for some hearty in-camp breakfasts.

The type you can prepare in camp before heading out to a day full of adventure.

Or let’s be honest, before a date with a hammock and a good book.

↓ 11 Super Easy Camping Breakfast Ideas

1. Camping Breakfast Sandwich ( click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

For breakfast sandwiches, we’re looking at a pretty simple formula.

Muffin ( or biscuit, if you ask me ) + egg + cheese + meat = perfection!

I like to make it even easier by using up some of the leftovers from the night before.

I love using leftover BBQ pork and crispy fried eggs to start the day!

2. Bacon and Cheese Pull-Apart (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

These bacon and cheese pull-parts are a great way to start the day.

I mean, come on, cheesy goodness and chunks of savory bacon, what’s not to love?

They’ll keep you feeling full and warm all morning long.

3. Farmers Scramble Breakfast (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

This camping breakfast recipe combines crispy browned potatoes and fluffy scrambled eggs.

You can also add some fried onions and bacon.

This Farmers Scramble hits all the bases – carbs, protein, salt, and fat.

It’ll leave even the biggest eaters satisfied!

4. Campfire French Toast (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

But that’s not an efficient way to get breakfast out to a big group.

So, here’s a recipe that makes an entire loaf of bread into French toast.

It’s sure to please the group, and it’s way easier than I’ve always done.

5. Egg and Sausage Breakfast Taquitos (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

They’re quick to prepare with sausage links and a pile of scrambled eggs.

You can customize them with whatever extra ingredients you have in your pantry.

I like adding a little hash brown to mine; cheese also works.

You’ll want to make a double batch because they will go fast!

6. Crispy Campfire Bacon (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

A well-meaning friend ( but not a skilled grill master ) tried it on my grill in college.

He nearly burned our deck down in the resulting grease fire.

So if you want to try this one, use stainless steel skewers instead and thread the bacon with space between the folds.

This strategy allows the bacon to cook evenly, thoroughly, AND safely.

Yes, you’re bound to get some small flare-ups as the fat renders out and drips.

But slow cooking over low heat helps to minimize these flare-ups and leaves you with crispy, extra-smoky bacon.

NEVER leave it unattended!

7. Dutch Oven Biscuits And Gravy (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

A Dutch oven is a perfect tool for cooking some fluffy biscuits.

Add some warm, rich sausage gravy, and you’ll have a delicious and filling breakfast.

5 Easy On-The-Go Adventure Lunches

Camp lunches can mean anything from a quick snack to a full meal prepared in camp.

The name of the game is flexibility, as you never know how your plans will change or when everyone will start feeling hungry.

Individual portions help prevent a big setup and put away challenges…unlike a big spread.

Leave the bigger meals for breakfast and dinner.

↓ 3 Super Easy Lunch Ideas For Camping

8. Salads To-Go (click for recipes)

easy camping trip meals

Salads are NOT the first thing you think of for camping.

But a quick salad can be an excellent break from the heavy meals you may have planned for the first few days.

Hearty leafy greens ( like kale ) last longer in an ice-cooler than more delicate ones.

I tend to avoid iceberg or spring mixed greens for this reason.

I recommend you plan your camp salads accordingly.

This recipe calls for individual salads in single-serving containers.

That way, you can grab one at a time from the cooler when you’re ready to eat.

9. Hot Ham and Swiss Croissants (click for recipes)

easy camping trip meals

Again, individual packaging makes it easy to grab them as needed.

AND each person can choose to eat them cold or heat them on the grill or over the fire.

All I know is a gooey melt sandwich tastes so dang good after a long day hiking!

10. Cashew Chicken Salad Wraps (click for recipes)

easy camping trip meals

The variety of flavors of pre-cooked chicken and tuna makes for endless possibilities.

But this cashew chicken salad version is excellent and packs well.

Try toasting the tortilla if you have a fire or want to break out a portable stove .

It makes the wrap so much better, in my opinion.

11. Trailside Hummus (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

But, with a home food dehydrator , you can dry any flavor of homemade hummus ahead of time.

Just be sure not to add the olive oil before dehydrating since it won’t keep that way.

Pack some buttery crackers or tortillas, and you’ll have a filling lunch  on the trail!

12. Crackers/Salami/Cheese (no recipe needed)

Crackers, sausage, and cheese have been a staple on many of my hiking lunches for years.

They’re calorie-dense, pack well, and taste great.

5 Delicious Gourmet In-Camp Dinners

Dinner back in camp is a chance to regroup and wind down after a full day.

It’s a chance to make plans for tomorrow and to share stories of what you saw today.

I find that conversations are even more enjoyable over a hearty meal.

One that will keep you ( and everyone else ) full until morning.

And trust me, there’s nothing worse than having to crawl out of the sleeping bag to find a snack at 3 am .

These are some tested recipes that will tide you over until breakfast.

↓ 9 Easy Camping Dinner Ideas: My Go-To Car Camping Meals

13. One-Pot Beef Stroganoff (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

This one-pot beef stroganoff recipe brings some big flavors to enjoy.

Steak, mushrooms, onions, and garlic meld together to create a filling dish that will surely be an in-camp favorite.

14. Campfire Stew (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

Let this hearty stew simmer over the fire for hours, and it will develop a vast range of flavors.

Slow cooking can turn even the cheapest cut of meat into a tender delicacy.

The swirling smoke will impart a wonderful smoky flavor throughout the campground.

You may have to beat your camping neighbors off with a stick!

You can adapt this recipe for the vegetables and canned meats you have on hand.

Follow the cooking instructions on how to prep it at home or do everything at camp.

15. Dutch Oven Stuffed Sausage and Potato Boats (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

This stuffed sausage and potato boat recipe is super versatile.

Sliced sausage forms a base for potatoes mixed with any toppings you like.

Using a Dutch Oven helps to prevent “drying out,” resulting in a “twice-based potato” texture and awesome flavors.

16. Cast Iron Skillet Pizza (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

You can make the dough yourself or buy a convenient pre-made shell from the grocery store.

But cooking in a cast-iron skillet will produce a thicker, chewier crust.

17. Dutch Oven Pork Chops and Potato Casserole

easy camping trip meals

Cream of mushroom soup and bread crumbs make it an easy camp meal to prep and a surefire favorite!

Just don’t burn the bottom of this casserole, focusing most of the heat on the top of the oven.

7 Foil-Packet Camping Meals

Cooking a delicious meal wrapped tightly in aluminum foil is a time-honored camping tradition.

So much so that I decided to give them their own category!

There’s something so satisfying about opening that foil packet and sticking your nose close to enjoy the first whiff of a fantastic feast.

Plus, individual packets allow for easy meal customization for each individual.

I ’ve found it’s the best way to make even the pickiest eater a happy camper!

↓ How To Make Foil Packets For Camping (aka Hobo Meals)

18. Foil-wrapped Baked Sweet Potatoes and Chili (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

Cooking them over a campfire can help keep you warm and satisfied even on a cold night.

This recipe calls for sweet potatoes and vegetarian chili.

But you can substitute regular potatoes or add in some ground beef if you prefer.

19. Shrimp Scampi Foil Packets (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

But I’ve made a similar recipe on several sea kayaking trips.

I just used rock crabs I caught by hand instead of shrimp.

Crayfish are also another easy option in certain locales.

So mix your shellfish with a fresh sauce and cook everything in tightly sealed packets.

You’ll be known as the best chef in camp for years to come.

20. Foil Pack French Dip Sandwiches (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

Tender roast beef, melted Swiss cheese, and creamy, salty au jus sauce in a giant pull-apart loaf of crusty bread— yes, please!

The French Dip is also perfect for satisfying a hungry crowd!

21. Bacon Ranch Grilled Potatoes (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

You can go with a pure blend of baked spuds and a perfect cheese mix.

Or you can add bacon, sour cream, and herbs; you know it’ll taste great and give you plenty of fuel for the next day.

Just lay out pre-sliced potatoes and extras on a table.

This buffet-style meal allows everyone to make their own version of the Bacon Ranch Potato Packets.

22. Grilled Pineapple Chicken (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

This easy camping meal is simple to prepare at home by chopping all the ingredients and pre-mixing the sauce.

Once in camp, dish up to foil packets and cook until the chicken is ready.

It should only take about 15 minutes to have dinner on plates!

23. Southwestern Chicken Packets (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

You can even tailor the spice level to fit each person – a win/win situation when camping with kids!

24. Grilled Caramelized Onions (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

This combination helps create a great side dish or addition to other recipes.

You can spread them on toasted crusty garlic bread if you get them caramelized and soft.

5 Best Campfire Desserts ( other than S’mores )

All right, my favorite section of them all is Desserts!

And while I’m a big fan of S’mores – I can’t do them 3 nights in a row.

I need to mix it up, and I think you’ll agree after you’ve tried a few of these camping dessert options.

↓ 10 Easy Camping Desserts You Have To Try This Summer

25. Blackberry Dutch Oven Cobbler (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

The carbonated soda gives it extra rise, making the cake super fluffy with a crispy top.

It also makes a great breakfast if you have any leftovers!

26. Grilled Banana Boats (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

They’re simple to prep and don’t take much in the way of ingredients.

Plus, you can store them all at room temp ( unless it’s mid-summer and your chocolate is melting ).

27. Chocolate Orange Cakes (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

Single-serving cakes, baked INSIDE the hollowed-out peel of an orange wrapped in foil!

28. Pineapple Upside Down Pound Cake

easy camping trip meals

Foil packet cooking doesn’t have to end with dinner!

Chunks of fresh or canned pineapple cook to a rich, mellow flavor.

A flavor that pairs well with dense, buttery pound cake.

If you don’t have pound cake, chunks of old-fashioned donuts or even donut holes will work just as well!

29. Cherry Hand Pies (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

Using pre-made pie crusts is easy.

But you can also do it homemade if you’d rather not have the perishable dough in the cooler.

Either way, be careful with kids around the hot oil and cast iron.

5 Kid-Friendly Camping Meal Ideas

Anyone who has spent time with young kids knows that mealtime can be a struggle.

New foods are not always a hit, especially with overly tired and hungry kids.

That’s why planning a few tried and true favorites is wise.

It can be a camping lifesaver.

Preventing a meltdown and saving your sanity is key to a great time camping with littles.

Plus, any food your kids can “help” cook is food you don’t have to prepare yourself.

And this helps keep them busy ( at least for a while ).

30. Campfire Cinnamon Roll-ups (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

If you’ve already got a fire going to heat water for coffee, give those bleary-eyed kids a fun task.

Teach them how to whip up some cinnamon rolls on a stick!

Using packaged crescent roll dough makes it fast and has no mess.

Plus, you can tailor the cinnamon/sugar mix to your liking.

31. Make-at-Home Mac & Cheese (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

The bottom line is it’s a surefire hit for kids and simple to make.

Pack homemade mac and cheese into foil wraps and heat them over the fire.

Since it’s fully cooked, you only have to wait for it to heat up to your liking.

But if you let it sit just a little longer, you’ll reap the reward of crispy cheese on the top and bottom.

This added texture and flavor make a kid-friendly dish enjoyable for adults, too.

32. Campfire Cheesy Breadsticks (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

Campfire breadsticks are wrapped around a stick and cooked over an open fire.

There isn’t a kid out there who’s not fascinated by campfires.

So, this is a great way to teach them to use it as a tool.

So wrap store-bought dough around a handy stick and toast to your liking.

These allow your kids to make their very own cheesy breadsticks.

33. Hawaiian BBQ Pork Walking Taco (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

But in my 23 years living in Michigan, I never encountered the Walking Taco.

I learned about this camp-friendly / kid-friendly dinner option after I moved out West.

This knowledge gap isn’t to say they’re not a great idea – because they are!

First, prepare any taco/nacho toppings you like.

Next, open a small bag of chips and layer everything inside on top.

This version used pulled pork and pineapple salsa for a Hawaiian flair.

It’s a self-contained nacho platter in a handy bag.

No mess, no dishes, no cleanup!

The more I think about it, it *DOES* sound like something a Midwesterner would invent…

34. Campfire Pigs In A Blanket (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

But these Pigs In A Blanket take things to an entirely new level!

Be sure to use the loose foil wrap to slow down the cooking.

This method gives hot dogs time to heat up without burning the breadsticks.

Afterward, dip it in ketchup, mustard, or ( my favorite ) BBQ sauce.

4 Lightweight Backpacking Meals

Backpackers are a special breed. It’s all about minimalist camping!

In pursuit of lighter packs for more comfortable hiking, they do all kinds of odd things, especially with food.

But the need for good, filling, and tasty food is at its peak after a full day of hiking.

Something about long hikes and full packs drives a conversation toward camp food.

This hunger, mixed with ingenuity, likely inspired such lightweight backpacking foods.

I’m talking about inventions such as powdered peanut butter , powdered eggs , powdered milk , and freeze-dried roasted veggies .

35. Backpackers Thai Noodles (click for recipe)

But this one is great to customize for yourself.

It’s got some intense flavors with spices that tickle the taste buds.

And the richness of the peanut butter makes it particularly appealing.

You can purchase most of the ingredients at a local grocery store.

But the powdered peanut butter and freeze-dried vegetables might be harder to find.

That’s why I suggest ordering such backpackers-focused ingredients online.

36. Spicy Curry Noodle Bowl (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

This one relies on lots of Southeast Asian spices and coconut cream powder for a thick broth that hits the spot.

Add some grilled chicken or pork to the mix if you feel ambitious.

I find such additions can make these meals so much better!

37. Loaded Mashed Potatoes (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

You can start with pre-flavored packets of instant potatoes or add your own spices.

This recipe is perfect if you want to start tinkering with your own flavors— you can add nearly anything!

Mashed potatoes are the multi-tool food of backpacking cuisine.

38. Peanut Sauce Ramen (click for recipe)

easy camping trip meals

This one is a lot like other peanut sauce noodle recipes.

But the ramen spice packet adds more sodium ( you’ve likely sweated out a lot after a day on the trail ).

And it’s cheaper as well.

It’s an excellent addition to your backpacker meal plan.

Best Strategies & Tips For Camping Meals

Unless you have a big RV with a full kitchen, you’ll have to rethink how you cook at a campsite.

Why? Because there are several unique challenges to cooking at a campsite .

From preventing stored food spoilage to dish clean-up – without kitchen appliances, you’ll need to get creative.

The good news is I have experience with these camp food challenges.

↓ How To Clean Dishes Camping Guide

Keeping Food Cold

Most campers do not have access to a fridge.

So, the food items you bring must either be safe to store outside, or you’ll have to protect them somehow.

Most people use a cooler full of ice to keep things cold on a hot day, which works well.

But you can also put canned and sealed items in cold running river water or a snowbank if needed.

This strategy works well if you’re trying to avoid taking a cooler…

Keeping Foods Warm( ish )

Few people realize you can also use a cooler to keep things from freezing if the temperatures dip too low at night.

An empty cooler will insulate the contents from moderate freezing temps.

And the addition of a hot water bottle before bed can protect from extreme cold conditions.

This strategy is handy during the late fall, winter, or early spring camping seasons when it can dip below freezing at night.

Baking Tools / Strategies

It’s a real challenge to bake in-camp without a standard kitchen oven.

Luckily, if you have to make a batch of fresh cookies, you can use a Dutch oven or a backpacker oven.

However, for most baked goods, it’s easier to cook these items at home and take them on the road with you.

Stovetop Camping Solutions

In-camp gourmet meals require cooking over a portable stove or open flames, so prepare for that.

Depending on the fuel source, these can be messy, sooty affairs for your pots and pans.

They also may get scorched on the outside, so this isn’t the time to take your best pots and pans from home.

Instead, I keep a small camp skillet and an old pasta pot with all my essential camping gear .

That way, I know exactly what I have every time I go.

Grilling Strategies

Taking a small grill along might be tempting if you have some trunk space.

If not, you can usually do most of your grilling directly over the campfire ( if the fire ring has a flip grill ).

Or, for some recipes, it works well with camping skewers, baskets, or sticks.

Washing Up / Clean Up

Unfortunately, it takes longer to wash up in camp than at home.

Why? Because heating water for wash-up takes time and energy, I often wash in cold water instead.

Yes, it takes a bit more elbow grease and scrubbing.

Use a metal brush and strong detergent to clean your cast iron skillets and ovens.

You want to be diligent about it, as any leftover food smells will surely draw animal visitors.

Some animal scavengers are cute but mischievous squirrels, but there are also dangerous predators like bears.

Final Thoughts

Cooking in camp should always be fun and yummy ( as long as the weather cooperates ).

And when done right, it can bring everyone together.

Assigning tasks like prep and cleanup to help distribute the load.

And this also helps ensure everyone has time to relax and enjoy their food.

Good camping food is key to keeping you fueled, focused, and ready to enjoy all the moments in the great outdoors.

Hopefully, these recipes give you a starting point to build your next epic camping food menu!

23 Foolproof Camping Recipes for Your Next Campout

This post may contain affiliate links.

Whether you’re a new camper or a seasoned pro, add these easy camping recipes to the menu for your next camping trip ASAP!

Camp cooking is probably way less challenging than you might think!  Armed with a few solid camping recipes and a willingness to go with the flow, you’ll be a camp cooking pro in no time—without having to rely on basic things like PB&J’s or hot dogs.

In this post, we’re sharing some of our best camp cooking tips and camping recipes to help you navigate mealtime during your first few camping trips. Then, once you’ve gained some experience, the sky’s the limit as to what you can cook up at your campsite!

Save this post!

Enter your email and we'll send this post to your inbox! Plus, you'll receive our newsletter full of great tips for all your outdoor adventures.

Our top 8 camp cooking tips

#1. Make a menu, write out your grocery list, and go shopping a day or two before your trip.  We find it way less stressful to go about it this way, rather than showing up at the grocery store without a plan on the way to the campsite. If needed, print out any recipes you need so you don’t have to rely on cell service in the woods.

#2. Prep as much of your food ahead of time as possible —you’ll appreciate not having to chop veggies or put together marinades or sauces at the campsite.

#3. Learn  how to pack a cooler  so you can safely transport perishable items like meat and eggs—a lot of your cooler’s performance comes down to how you pack it, not which cooler you use!

#4. Try out your camp stove before your first trip  (this was  our first camping stove , and this is  the one we own now ). Set it up out on your patio or other outdoor space and cook a dinner or two on it. This way, you can get a feel for how it works without the high stakes of being at a campground.

#5. Organize your  camp kitchen  in a bin before your trip, referencing your camping checklist , so that you don’t forget a critical item at home.  If you plan on going camping a lot, you may consider picking up duplicates of common items, like spatulas, knives, and a can opener, so that they are always in your camp bin and never left behind.

#6. Start cooking a bit earlier than you think you need to.  If all goes to plan, you’ll just eat dinner a little early, but if there are any hiccups along the way, at least you won’t be eating and cleaning up in the dark!

#7. Everyone’s least favorite camp chore is doing the dishes , but you should  think about how you’ll take care of washing up after meals.  Some campsites will have dishwashing stations, while others will require you to rig up your own using a wide pot or shallow bucket, so be sure to check the campground facilities before you arrive.

#8. Double-check ahead of time whether your campground will have running water!  Many forest service campsites will require that you bring your own water. If that’s the case, we recommend a durable water storage container like the  Sea to Summit Watercell .

Tex-Mex Chicken Fajita Foil Packets

Grilled Tomatoes

grilled tomatoes with tahini caesar

Tomatoes are maybe the best part of summer, especially when you grill them. Loaded Campfire Nachos

Grilled Peaches

grilled peaches

Nothing beats a ripe, sticky-sweet peach , and while you can just bite right in, cooking with peaches is killer. One of our favorite ways? Grilling them, then drizzling them with honey, olive oil, and sea salt. Add freshly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream to take them OTT.

Get the Grilled Peaches recipe .

Grilled Brie With Wine

grilled brie with wine

We love digging into a wheel of gooey oven- baked brie , but in the summer, no one wants to bother with the oven. Give this classic appetizer a summery twist by cooking it on the grill, seasoning it lightly with garlic, herbs, and wine, and serving with some lightly charred bread.

Get the Grilled Brie With Wine recipe .

Preparing Fish for Cooking Over Open Campfire

19 Easy Camping Recipes for Delicious Dinners Outdoors

Here are 19 rewarding meals, from breakfast to dessert, best served outside.

Sometimes, preparing your meals for camping feels like you have to choose between slaving over a gourmet recipe or roasting basic hot dogs over the campfire . We're here to say: That's definitely not true.

With a little bit of prep, these easy camping recipes can give you the best parts of a camping trip —sitting around a fire, bonding over a plate of good food—without the hassle. They're only slightly more work than noshing on a bag of granola, but much more impressive to fellow campers.

The first step to prep for your camping meals is to understand how you will be cooking and how your gear works. As campfires might be prohibited (and can make cooking tricky), a portable stove is a great option for your next camping trip. Camp stoves are a lot quicker than an open fire and operate more like cooking at home. Of course, if you'd like to cook over a campfire use a cast iron skillet, which won't be ruined by the fire and will heat evenly throughout the skillet. Here are some awesome Dutch oven and cast iron meals to cook.

To make things simple for your camping trip, do as much work at home as possible. Measure out exactly how much of everything you will need, pack ingredients together (think black beans and cheddar cheese for nachos in one container) and chop veggies. The goal is to throw everything into a pan and relax.

With that in mind, explore these 19 easy camping meals that are sure to please on your next camp trip.

How to Cook While Camping

Dutch Oven cooking over the fire is a great easy camping meal for the whole family

Camp cooking can come in many forms. From a portable gas stove to cooking over charcoal to cooking right over the open fire – there is no right way to cook on a camping trip. In the best scenario, you will probably want to utilize all of these options during your camping trip.

We highly recommend new campers invest in a simple camping stove. These are fairly economical, last forever and are easy to use, much like your stove at home.

Our second favorite option for cooking while camping is in a dutch oven over coals. I love cooking in the dutch oven because once you have heated the coals and prepared the dish, most of your work is just watching and waiting.

Lastly, the kids will always love cooking over an open flame. Anything from hot dogs to marshmallows, breakfast cinnamon rolls or treats in a pie iron are great options for campfire cooking! Below we share recipes to help you plan easy meals that include options for all of these types of cooking.

Cooking Camping Planning Tips

If you are new to camping and still feel nervous about camp cooking, let me share a few tips we have learned over the years. I was always a nervous camp cooker to be honest. Using the dutch oven and cooking over coals scared me, so I stuck with my camp stove 90% of the time. I never had the luxury of making traditional easy camping meals like hot dogs or hamburgers since my son didn’t like either of these.  Instead, I was forced to venture out of the box sooner rather than later. Here are a few of our tried and tested camp cooking planning tips to reduce the stress and get the most out of your camping cooking experience.

  • Prep Everything Possible in Advance: From your shopping and menu list, to cutting veggies in advance.
  • Keep the Meals Simple
  • Use aluminum foil and/or aluminum liners to minimize dishes
  • Bring Only What You Need: Pack spices, condiments, etc in smaller containers.
  • Pack Your Cooler Smartly: Last day’s meals & frozen meats on the bottom. Also pack frozen water bottles for ice.
  • Include lots of Fresh Fruit / Veggies for snacks and sides

If you are looking for more camping tips, check out our post on car camping essentials which outlines everything we use when camping.

How to Make Sure You Feel Great While Camping

While camping is great fun for most people, it also causes a bit of stress and anxiety for others. Throw in rich, spicy meals that you may not be used to eating and you could be left with an upset stomach. Because of this, there is one thing I make sure to always have on hand – heartburn/stomach medications.

My go to is Boiron Acidil “meltaway” tablets because they dissolve easily in your mouth without water to relieve acid indigestion, bloating, and upset stomach. If you are like me, stomach problems always start in the middle of the night when I’m tucked away in my tent, which make these super convenient to take when you don’t have water nearby. After years of living in India and using homeopathic medications to ease our aches and pains, I’m loving these plant-powered tablets that offer relief for heartburn and acid indigestion. (For a $2 off coupon, go here and enter your email address.). You can find Acidil at your local Walgreens, Rite Aid, Sprouts, Whole Foods and of course on Amazon .

10 Easy Camping Meals You Will Love

waking up looking out of the tent while camping

Cornbread Breakfast Casserole

One of my favorite meals at home or at camp is breakfast. I am a huge fan of breakfast burritos and the breakfast sandwich, which are simple to make and create smiles all around! They can be made a ton of different ways, with whatever ingredients you have on hand. Breakfast burritos are a quintessential easy camping meal, but occasionally I like to get a little fancy for breakfast and this cornbread breakfast casserole is my go to. We also like this version with biscuits , but we have found that using canned biscuits makes the dish a bit more doughy. This is one of my favorite delicious breakfast options we plan while camping, even though it does take a long time to cook!

A country breakfast that takes a bit of time, but will be worth it when it's done!

Ingredients

  • Boxed Cornbread (don't forget ingredients needed for this - oil and eggs typically)
  • 1 bag of shredded Mexican Cheese (or any type you prefer)
  • 1 package of ground sausage
  • Onions, peppers, jalapenos (to taste)

Instructions

1. While your coals are heating up, cook your sausage on your camp stove in the dutch oven (or another pan if you don't mind more dishes!)

2. If you are adding onions, peppers or jalapenos, add them to your sausage just before it's finished.

3. Break eggs and mix together in a bowl - set aside

4. Make your cornbread according to directions - set aside

5. If you didn't use your dutch oven to cook the sausage, place a liner in the dutch oven before you put over the coals to reduce clean up later.

6. Once the coals are ready, place 10-12 hot coals on the bottom of the dutch oven.

7. Now add in the sausage/onion mixture on the bottom. Next add the scrambled mix of eggs. Layer your cheese next.

8. Lastly layer on your cornbread mixture to the top. It should sit on top of the egg mixture.

9. Cover the dutch oven, 10-12 coals on top.

10. Cook for 30-45 minutes or until a knife in the cornbread comes out clean.

Alternative: Instead of cornbread, you could also use Bisquick biscuit mix which requires only the mix and milk. Spread a layer over the top instead of the cornbread.

Simple Cheese & Spinach Dutch Oven Lasagna

I’ve recently become obsessed with dutch oven cooking while camping. If you do it correctly (i.e use liners!), there is little mess, which means less time cleaning dishes and more time enjoying down time. This Dutch Oven Lasagna is a super easy camping meal and can be modified however you like with other veggies, ground beef or turkey or extra cheese. Use this just as a guide to get you going. (And for the record, that lasagna slice is not from the dutch oven because it is often quite messy looking coming out of a round pan!)

Simple Cheese & Spinach Dutch Oven Lasagna

The ultimate comfort food can be easily transformed on the campground with this simple Cheese & Spinach Dutch Oven Lasagna recipe. Using no-boil noodles, pre-made or bottled pasta sauce and shredded cheese, you will have this cooking in no time. For those who want to add meat, either pre-cook meat before you leave home for no mess on site or cook on a stove-top while camping.

  • 1 24 oz Jar of Pasta Sauce (we like Whole Foods' Tomato & Mascarpone)
  • 1 package of no-boil lasagna noodles
  • 3 cups of Fresh Spinach
  • 2 cups of shredded Italian blend cheese (or a mixture of your favorite white cheeses)
  • 1 Tbsp Dried Italian seasoning blend
  • Dutch Oven Liner
  • Optional: 1 lb of cooked meat (we prefer ground turkey)
  • Optional: 1 tub of soft cheese like Ricotta or goats cheese

Oil the bottom of the dutch oven liner with oil and then spread a thin layer of pasta sauce on the bottom.

Next create a layer of noodles so that they don't overlap. Top with more sauce, spinach and cheese. If you are using meat or soft cheese, layer that here as well.

Continue your layers until you have reached the top of the liner or have used all of your ingredients. Typically about 3 layers. Finish with a layer of cheese and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.

Cover the dutch oven and place it on a bed of 8-10 hot coals, with 20 coals on the lid. Bake for 50-60 minutes checking every 10-15 minutes to make sure it isn't burning the cheese, but that the noodles are becoming tender.

Note: Before you begin preparing your dish, start a chimney full of coals so they will be ready when you are done preparing the lasagna.

Also, you will need to keep burning coals during the 1 hour cooking time to replenish any that lose their heat.

Nutrition Information:

Serving size:, pan fried shrimp  – easy camp dinner.

One of our family’s favorite recipes at home and while camping is Pan Fried Shrimp. This is another super easy camping meal that is extremely versatile as well. You can use the shrimp with spaghetti or in tacos or even over a bed of polenta.  You can also eat it plain with assorted veggies cooked or raw.

Pan fried shrimp is easy to transport and quick to cook. I have not tried to do this (yet!) in a foil packet, but I think it would cook really well in foil packets with the oil sauce mixed with a few quick cooking veggies. The sauce for this dish could also be great with grilled chicken cooked over the fire or in a pan.

Pan Fried Shrimp

Pan Fried Shrimp

A mainstay of our camping meals is Pan Fried Shrimp. This easy camping recipe is perfect for families, for groups and as an appetizer. You can use it in tacos, over pasta or even cooked with sausage and veggies for a more filling protein rich meal.

  • Frozen Raw Tail off Deveined Shrimp
  • Garlic Cloves (to taste)
  • Red Chili Pepper Flakes
  • Dried Oregano
  • Salt & pepper
  • Shredded Paremsan Cheese
  • Optional: Cajun Chicken Sausage
  • Optional: Pasta, Tortillas or Polenta

This simple dish requires only a few ingredients. I typically make the marinating sauce before I leave home, but it is also possible to quickly make this while camping. Quantities are based on how much shrimp you use, but in general you want to use enough oil to be able to fully toss the shrimp in.

Combine the minced garlic (to taste - I use about 3 cloves), sprinkling of red chili flakes, again to taste, sprinkling of oregano, and a pinch of shredded parmesan. Mix together enough to cover the shrimp.

When the shrimp are fully thawed and ready to cook, drain excess water and mix with oil mixture and pan fry.

You can now use this over pasta, in tacos or a variety of veggies.

Note: If you would like to make this more filling, pan fry cut up cajun chicken sausages slightly before adding in the oil and shrimp mixture. This makes a great supplement to rice, pasta or polenta!

Dutch Oven Nachos – Best Camp Dinner for Families

Dutch oven nachos, one of the best easy camping meals for families

Cooked in the fire pit, these are an easy meal at the end of a long day with minimal prep time and easy cleanup. These nachos really are one of the greatest easy camping meals that is a people pleaser!

Dutch Oven Nachos

Dutch Oven Nachos

One of our favorite camping recipes is this simple, filling and kid approved Dutch Oven Nachos. Made inside a dutch oven with a liner, this no clean up meal is perfect for families, just the kids or even as an appetizer for larger gatherings.

  • Bag of Tortilla Chips
  • 1 Can of Black Beans (drained)
  • 1 Can of El Pato Hot Tomato Sauce
  • 1 Bag of shredded Mexican Cheese
  • 1 bunch of cilantro
  • 1 bunch of green onions
  • 1 dutch oven liner

Place the liner in the dutch oven with a little oil spread on the bottom so that chips don't stick.

Next, layer the chips, drained black beans, tomato sauce and cheese in 3 layers.

Depending on your tastes you can also layer in the avocado, green onion and cilantro or just add it to the top.

End with a cheese layer and avocado, green onion and cilantro on top.

Close the lid and set on top of about 8-10 coals, with another 8-10 on the lid.

Cook for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted.

Note: The El Pato sauce can make this a bit spicy for some children, so adjust accordingly. Our family uses the entire can, but some children find it a bit spicy.

Note: Before you start preparing your dish, start your coals so that they will be ready when you are finished layering your toppings.

**Package up any leftovers to mix with scrambled eggs for breakfast.

Salmon Foil Packs

We are big fish eaters, especially when it comes to camping. Fish is often something people are nervous to bring camping, but we have found if you take frozen fish, it will thaw out nicely and be ready when you are. We have also taken fresh salmon, making sure it is on the bottom of the cooler with the ice to stay very cold.

I also love that fish is a very quick cooking meat with little risk of cross-contaminating other foods. Our go to favorite easy camping meals always includes a salmon fillet cooked in foil packets. We do it differently every single time based on what ingredients we have at home, so again use this as a guide not a must do! This is great as well for campsites without water as there is very little to clean up. You can eat it plain, over pasta or even in tacos.

Salmon in Foil Packets

Salmon in Foil Packets

One of my favorite easy camping recipes for family meals is wild Alaskan salmon in foil packets.  It's a super simple dish that can be customized to your tastes and be used as a main or an add on to other items.

  • Wild Alaskan Salmon (or whatever you prefer!)
  • Oil (or butter or ghee)
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Any other toppings/spices you would like
  • Aluminum Foil

Making Salmon in foil packets is super simple. Our go to recipes include

- garlic, rosemary and lemon with a splash of oil

- Trader Joe's "Everything But the Bagel" Spice Mix with a splash of oil

- Salt & pepper with butter or oil

- Garlic, Herb Butter (combine, butter, fresh parsley, minced garlic, fresh rosemary, fresh thyme, salt and pepper before you leave home)

Once you decide what flavor you will combine with your salmon, it is easy peasy. Lay out a large piece of heavy aluminum foil. Place your salmon skin side down in the middle of the foil. Sprinkle oil, butter, or ghee over the top before adding your dry spices. Finish with a squirt of lemon. Pull both sides of the foil together in the middle and fold over. Pull in the sides to close the packet up completely. The salmon will cook by steam, so make sure it is closed securely. Place on a grill over the fire or over old coals that aren't burning at maximum temperature. Check after 10 minutes and cook until your liking.

Add in quick cooking veggies to your foil packet or put them in their own packs. We love to use asparagus or broccoli with ours.

Use your cooked salmon as a main dish, on top of pasta, in tacos and more!

Dutch Oven Cornbread Chili

Did you even go camping if you didn’t have cornbread or chili? We think not! A recent favorite meal we have been playing with while camping is a dutch oven cornbread chili. We don’t eat beef and I’m not a big fan of cooking poultry outdoors with limited water sources to wash my hands, but this one pot (mostly!) dish is quickly becoming a favorite.

  • I lb of ground turkey
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon of dried Oregano
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 small can tomato paste (use to taste!)
  • 1/2 can of black beans or kidney beans
  • 2 tablespoons of chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon of chipotle powder (omit if you don't want it spicy)
  • 1/2 tablespoon of ground cumin
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 box of Jiffy cornbread mix (or any you prefer) + ingredients needed

At home mix your dry spices in a small container so they are ready to use while at the campground. Also cut up your onions, peppers and garlic if you want less hassle at the campground.

1. Heat your dutch oven over the fire (or your stove - I prefer the stove at this point)

2. Add the ground turkey, cooking until it starts to brown

3. Add the onions, garlic and pepper mixing it with the cooked ground turkey.

4. Add the spices (chili powder, chipotle powder, cumin)

5. Add the diced tomatoes and tomato paste (we don't love tomatoes so we don't use the entire can of either, but feel free to use them all or to taste)

6. Add a cup of water (or less depending on how liquidy you want it and how thick it is already).

7. While this is cooking (you can move it over to a bed hot coals at this point if you want as it's just simmering), prepare your cornbread mixture following package directions.

8. Pour the cornbread mixture over the top of the chili, cover with the lid and place 20 hot coals on the top.

9. Cook for 10 minutes and check to see if cornbread is done by sticking a skewer or knife through. If it comes out clean, the chili is done.

easy camping trip meals

One Pot Cheesy Sausage Pasta

This is one of our favorite at home dishes, that we have translated to the great outdoors. It is super simple and can be partly made in advance and heat up on site or made entirely while camping. This super easy camping meal is a favorite with kids and adults.

One Pot Cheesy Sausage Pasta

Our favorite cheesy, easy camping recipe that is a crowd pleaser from kids to adults.

  • 1 Package of Cajun Andouille Chicken Sausage (we use Bilinski's)
  • 1 Package of pasta (macaroni, or small shaped pasta that cooks quickly)
  • 1 carton of Chicken stock
  • small carton of heavy whipping cream
  • Parmesan cheese

This is a very easy, quick cooking meal that can be done over the grill or on your camp stove. I prefer it on my campstove with a dutch oven pot or deep cast iron skillet.

1. Heat up oil in cast iron pan.

2. Cut up the sausage into slices & put in pan

3. Once sausage is browned on both sides, pour in the container of chicken stock and bag of pasta. (At home I use the entire contents of the stock, but to reduce cooking times, you only need to cover pasta)

4. The stock will cook down, leaving just a touch of liquid at the bottom. Once this happens, pour in a bit of heavy whipping cream and mix in a small handful of shredded parmesan.

5. Mix well and heat through - serve immediately.

Cast Iron Fruit Cobbler

Why forgo flavour while camping? You don’t need to stick to only marshmallows for dessert. Consider making this super simple fruit cobbler in your cast iron skillet or Dutch oven. This is another great easy camping meal that I was first introduced to from my cooking friend at French Foodie Baby . She is the one I credit the most with giving me confidence to start cooking more when we camp. She always makes some variant of this on our large group campouts, but I have also tried it with non-foodies using canned fruit and boxed mix!

This cobbler is a great way to upgrade your camping dessert game, especially when you are in a small group looking for something other than traditional treats.

Cast Iron Fruit Cobbler

This delicious, easy fruit cobbler is a great camping dessert or weekend treat. This cobbler is filled with fruit topped with a biscuit like batter that adds just a bit of crunch.

Fruit Filling

  • handful of ripe fruit (berries, peaches, stone fruit, whatever you would like!)
  • sprinkle of sugar
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • 3/4 cup of all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk

At home, mix your dry ingredients for the batter in a bag to have ready at your campsite. Once you are ready to use it, you can mix in the milk on site.

1. Heat your cast iron skillet with the butter in it either on the stove or on the grill over the fire.

2. While the butter is melting, you can prepare your batter and/or cook your fruit.

*note if you are using canned fruit, you do not need to cook it, just use it as is. If you are using not ripe fruit and want it a little sweeter, you can cook it in over the stove, with a sprinkle of sugar and a bit of water to bring out the juices more.

3. Once your butter is melted, pour your batter into the pan.

4. Next pour your fruit over the batter.

5. Cook for 20-40 minutes (depending how hot your fire is), checking frequently.

6. Your cobbler is done when a toothpick comes out clean.

You can use a cast iron skillet or a dutch oven. If you use a dutch oven, put the lit on the top with a few coals over the top to help speed cooking time.

For the skillet, if you have a lid you can put it on to help the cooking, but it is not necessary.

Bread on a Stick

Break on a stick is a fun easy camping meal

Below is a very easy recipe to prepare at home. Put all your dry ingredients in a ziploc bag before you leave home and add in the olive oil and water when you are making it out at camp. Send the kids for a hunt for the perfect sticks which will keep them busy for a while. For best results, take the bark off the stick.

Bread on a Stick

A campfire classic - bread on a stick made from scratch is an easy family friendly camping favorite. Prepare the dry ingredients at home in a plastic bag and finish preparing at the campsite.

  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup powder milk
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/8 cup of oil
  • 1 cup of water (little by little)
  • Mix all dry ingredients in a bag before you leave home
  • At the campsite you can add the oil and water slowly, while mixing and kneading.
  • Find a stick and wrap around to roast over the fire.
  • Roast your bread over the flames/coals until browned and ready to eat.

Breakfast Cinnamon Rolls on a Stick

Cooking cinnamon rolls on a stick over the fire is one of our favorite easy camping meals

Cinnamon Rolls on a Stick

Cinnamon Rolls on a Stick

A fun, quick yummy breakfast treat that will keep the kids busy making their own meal!

  • Can of premade cinnamon rolls

While the fire is burning, making hot coals, send the kids off to find good sticks. (Or you can use marshmallow skewers like we have, but the dough does stay more secure on a stick).

Separate each cinnamon roll and put the skewer or stick through the middle. We tested various options and found that to be the best for a thoroughly cooked roll.

Cook over the hot coals until toasty and crispy on the outside but also well done inside.

Spread or pour the icing over the top for a delicious breakfast treat!

Bonus Easy Camping Recipe Idea: Banana Boats

One of our favorite super easy camping meals that we like to eat for dessert are campfire Banana Boats wrapped in foil. You can make them however you wish, but the classic way we have found that we enjoy the most is a banana split in half lengthwise, sprinkled with miniature chocolate chips, miniature marshmallows and sprinkled with crumbled up cinnamon graham crackers. I know some people even put a dollop of peanut butter in theirs which adds even more yummy goodness. The beauty of these sweet treats are you can fix them up with all your favorite toppings, changing it up for your next trip too!

A re you planning a camping trip and not sure what to prepare for meals? I’ve got you covered. Whether you have a camp stove or planning to cook over an open fire, here are 28 easy camping meal ideas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner that will satisfy your cravings and keep you fueled for your outdoor adventures.

I absolutely love to camp. I’ll backpack, car camp, or pull a travel trailer. When it comes down to it, they all have some delicious options for easy camping dinner ideas. but for some reason, that’s the number one question people ask me. What should I make?

Today I’m breaking down some of my families favorite camping recipes to make.

What methods are there to cooking while Camping?

Campfire cooking is what most people think of. You can roast hotdogs over a fire, have a smore, grill over an open flame, use it as an oven with foil, or make foil packets.

Most people bring a portable stove, opening up the door to an endless idea of camping foods.

If you have a camper, also have a microwave available and electricity to plug in crock pots, coffee makers and more. Some higher end campers may even come with an oven.

What is the best method for cooking while camping?

This all depends on your type of camping. But my own personal preference is to use gas whenever possible. That’s because I don’t want to waste wood for cooking. I’d rather use a bundle of wood for smores and a late-night fire.

I’ve also learned never to rely on campfires for your cooking. If it rains, or if you are in a drought area, with campfire restrictions, you’ll want a backup.

What makes cooking in a camper different than car camping?

Camping meals are not inherently special. Unless you are talking about cooking over a fire. Otherwise, most everything you can make at home, without an oven, can be made camping too. Car camping or in a Camper. The only differences are a camper usually has a little more space for cold products, and a Freezer.

What are some hacks to Quick and Easy Camping Meals?

Lets face is, recipes are the way to go especially when you’ve spent most of the day exploring, playing and relaxing. When you don’t have all the comforts of home, these hacks are perfect for camping.

Freezer Meals

When going on a longer trip, make it at home and freeze them flat in a zip lock freezer bag. Then stack up your meals in your freezer.

We did this on a two-week trip, and it worked great. A few days before we wanted to eat, we’d let it thaw out in the fridge. Then rewarm everything a pot or pan. This is a great option if you are looking for quick and easy meals for your next trip.

This hack works well with coolers too. You can use dry ice to keep things frozen. Just be careful as it can cause burns if you touch the ice. Check with your dry ice provider for tips.

Prep Everything

No one wants to spend time cutting vegetables, grating cheese and stuff. If possible, put everything chopped up in ziplock bags. Then take out what you need.

When you finish off the bag, it’s easy to throw away. Tupperware is nice, but having stacks of bins left in the fridge can take up valuable space.

Bring Extra Snacks

I’m sure why, but when you go camping, there is a tendency to bring everything under the sun, including double portions of the main course. You’d can easily burn through your entire weeks grocery budget on a single weekend.

Instead of doubling up on the main course, bring extra side dishes and snacks that don’t require refrigeration. This way you wont have to worry about packing up leftovers and finding room for them.

Let’s dive into why you are really here.
