I just finished my tour and it’s been absolutely amazing from beginning to end. We were really well taken care of by our group leader Andri making sure everyone was safe and seen while being a good friend along the way. He truly made the experience memorable. The itinerary was excellent and everyday was filled with something exciting. One of the best experiences of my life. 10/10
This was one of the best trips I've done. The itinerary was the perfect mix of activities and down time & I felt, hit the key places I'd travel to if doing it fully solo. Whilst the tour itself and the people I met on it were a big part of me having the best time, it wouldn't have been the same without our tour leader Andri. He helped join the group together before we even started and made everyone feel included once we got there. He was the best mix of chilled and reliable, super knowledgeable and put the needs of the group first like the wonderfully caring human he is. We always knew what we were doing and when and it felt like he made the trip run so smoothly - I only had to worry about turning up and having a good time. If you're thinking about booking this DO IT (and pray you'll have Andri has your leader)

Neil, Ike and William did an excellent job. They are very knowledgeable of the areas that they took us to. I would recommend this package to others. Michael Kasper
Palawan tour was totally disaster. I end up with paying double money.I never used tour.what happened to your ivestivation?
Intrepid Travel
- Excellent - 11,802 reviews for Philippines tours
Excellent tour and Ellise our guide was simply outstanding.
Ian, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and made sure everything was running on time. We had some disruption to our water activities due to high waves in Palawan, but Ian and Michael pivoted the activities so they were still fun and engaging. I booked the tour to just relax and let someone else do the planning for me and it worked wonderfully. Would book again with Intrepid.

Uncharted Philippines
- Excellent - 6 reviews for Philippines tours
This tour was by far one of the most amazing experiences of my life. This was my first time travelling to a Southeast Asian country by myself but I felt safe and welcomed the entire time. I enjoyed observing beautiful rice terraces, meeting friendly village people, and learning lots about Ifugao culture from my tour guide. The opportunity to stay in a guest house in one of the small villages gave me the chance to truly appreciate the simplistic life of the village people. My tour guide, Marvin Bunaton was a wonderful guide to have. He gave me lots of valuable information about Ifugao culture and made sure I was safe the entire time. I am very lucky to have had him as a tour guide. I recommend this trip to everyone who loves hiking and beautiful sceneries! If I ever come back to the Philippines, I will bring my loved ones and do this tour all over again!
Although my trek was very challenging, I enjoyed every bit of it. My tour guide Jonathan was an amazing companion throughout my tour making me feel at home. Would definitely recommend it this tour of Banaue, Batad etc
Abraham Tours Philippines
- Excellent - 7 reviews for Philippines tours
The guide deserves a 10.
The trip was well worth it. All of the sights were beautiful and worth the long bus trips to and from Sagada and Banaue. It was a small group tour was only two couples. Fred was great as a tour guide. The Kamayan feast was very memorable and tasty at Bangaan on the last day. One of the best tours we’ve ever been on. Would definitely recommend it.

Amazing!! Support and guide made it seemless
Warning! Do not book! Communication with them is nearly impossible! I booked this “independent tour” 7 months before travel. They had no problem communicating and answering questions before they got paid. When I had no itinerary or vouchers one week before my international travel I contacted them to which I was told I’d have everything within the next day. Then I was ghosted for five days. Not a single word back after reaching out EVERYDAY for 5 days! I ended up getting TourRadar involved and received my vouchers for travel and itinerary 24 hours before my flight.

Ronnie, our guide, was absolutely fantastic. Always available and attentive to our needs. He went above and beyond to ensure that the group felt comfortable and his attention to detail was next to none and even by going that extra mile to ensue we tasted the local delicacies. Would highly recommend this tour and hopefully you will have the extra perk of having Ronnie as your guide. Some parts of the itinerary had to be changed but the back-up plan suited everyone and was very enjoyable.
The tour was great, we really enjoyed it, and the tour guide Rupert was amazing
Sturmfrei Travel and Tours
- Excellent - 1 review for Philippines tours
Travelled solo in a private guided tour organised through Strumfrei Travel and Tours, and I cannot recommend this company highly enough!! I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. Pre-travel email and mobile phone communication with both Tour Radar and Sturmfrei Travel and Tours was timely and responsive, and they were able to effectively manage my travel requirements and interests. Throughout the tour the Sturmfrei Travel and Tours guides and driver took great care to ensure the planned itinerary went ahead and met my expectations. Ultimately, though, the tour actually exceeded my expectations in so many ways: the region's amazing natural beauty was enhanced even further by both the Sturmfrei and local guides' general knowledge of Philippine culture and history, the Sturmfrei guides' efforts in ensuring my safety and enjoyment of the various physical activities I participated in, and my introduction to local Filipino foods and delicacies. The local Filipino people I met were just lovely and very friendly and added to my enjoyment of my northern travels. This trip was the highlight of my 2-week Philippines experience.

Best time to travel to The Philippines
In recent times, the onset of the wet season in the Philippines has seen a subtle shift. It's now more prudent for visitors to consider arriving closer to mid-November rather than early October. Historically, the months of June through August were notorious for heavy rainfall and numerous typhoons. However, this pattern has evolved, with the dry season extending further and fewer rainy days recorded in these months. One notable draw for travelers to the northern Philippines during July and August is the breathtaking beauty of the rice terraces. At their zenith, they dazzle with a verdant hue, a testament to nature's splendor. Even in periods when they're submerged, these terraces captivate. The reflections of the sky in the water-filled terraces craft a mesmerizing mosaic of mirrors across the landscape. That said, the Philippines, with its tropical climate, is prone to unpredictable weather fluctuations. Whether it's sporadic rain showers or the occasional typhoon, it's essential for visitors to be prepared year-round. On the topic of typhoons: these are intense storms characterized by heavy rain and wind, typically lasting 3-4 days. However, it's worth noting that many typhoons have a minimal impact on daily activities and travel.

When you initially think of The Philippines it may be slightly intimidating due to the insane number of islands (over 7,500) but don’t let that put you off, the Philippines is truly worth it – trust us! It’s got to be, it’s been awarded one of the happiest countries in the world after all…
A lot of our trips will start in the bustling, vibrant city of Manila and head south for a more ‘Island Hopping Experience ’. The Philippines is a truly unique country, from its Chocolate Hills to active volcanos, and from pristine turquoise waters to undiscovered islands, it’s a once in a lifetime destination.
Head to the West Islands and in particular to the island of Palawan to visit El Nido, a beautiful calm and laid back destination, now well known for their local efforts in being more eco-friendly and saving the planet. Or how about somewhere where you can really let your hair down? Boracay is absolutely this place, with it’s stunning beachfront restaurants and late night chill out bars, it really is a mecca for like minded people from all around the world. How heading off the beaten trackl to the East Islands ? We know it’s not as well known but with incredible destinations like Cebu and Moalboal, it’s definitely worth a visit.
Even less spoken about and visited by tourists is the North of the Philippines . Here you can explore many volcanoes, including Mount Pinatubo and Taal Volcano, one of the smallest in the world. You can even raft on Pandin Lake, see the local rice terraces, visit sand dunes in the north or even stop by the Sagada burial caves. They won’t be for everyone but it is definitely worth learning about the incredible history!
Whether it be island hopping, trekking active volcanoes, deep sea diving or spotting the famous Tarsiers, the Philippines has it all. Less travelled than a lot of it’s Southeast Asian counterparts, the Philippines is a real hidden gem!
How can I get there?
Most of our adventures begin in the capital Manila. There are many airlines that fly between the UK and Manila, with direct flights available from London with Philippine Airlines. This non-stop route generally takes around 13/14 hours each way. Flying with other airlines or from elsewhere in the UK will require minimum 1 stop each way on the way to Manila.
We can help with flights from any country over to the Philippines, we don’t just do from the UK! You can even get flights from Los Angeles, New York, New Zealand and Australia with Philippine Airlines, so it’s very accessible for a lot of people.
When is the best time to go?
Being a tropical country, the Philippines has a warm climate year round, so expect hot weather whenever you travel. From December to February, the temperature lowers slightly, making this a great time to visit. The typhoon season runs from July to October - you can expect high rainfall, and strong winds during this time, so it’s best to travel outside of these months. The Phillipines span over 7000 islands, so in saying that, the weather can be quite diverse, depending on which area you are visiting.
Do I need a Visa?
Currently at the time of writing this most nationalities do not require a visa to enter the Philippines if you are staying for less than 30 days.
However we do recommend checking with your consulate and / or embassy as the regulations can and do change for any given nationality. For UK Citizens this will be the Foreign Travel Advice - which you can find HERE .
To gain entry into the Philippines you will need your return air ticket, your passport with at least 6 months validation left to go and your visa if indeed you require one.
How should I budget for my trip?
The official currency of the Philippines is the Peso (PHP).
You’ll find plenty of ATM’s in the larger cities such as Manila, but ATMs may not be as easily found in the more rural areas or on the islands. Credit cards can be used in large cities, but when travelling outside of these cities, make sure you have enough Pesos with you.
Tipping is not compulsory in the Philippines, but small change would be appreciated by restaurants, drivers and other service workers.
What would I pay for a…
Coffee - £1.50 / USD1.95
Beer - £1.30 / USD1.70
Meal at a restaurant - £10 / USD13.00
The Philippines can be a great budget destination if you don’t want to spend much and you're willing to give the local street food a try, but you’ll also find some nicer restaurant options if that’s more your thing.
How safe is it there?
The vast majority of trips are trouble free, but as with any trip it’s important to be vigilant.
A few things to take note of is you should take care of your belongings and be careful of any bags that you have over your shoulder. Make use of your hotel safe for your valuables if you have one. Be wary of strong current and rips when swimming, and avoid overcrowded boats.
Only use reputable taxi services, or pre-arranged hotel transfers when arriving at the airport. So really, just use your common sense.
Always listen to the advice of your guide - they are there to make sure you have a safe and hassle free adventure!
For further safety advice, it is best to check with your local government advice. For UK citizens - please that’s the Foreign Office - HERE
It is advised by the UK foreign office not to travel to western and central Mindanao and the Sulu archipelago
Do I need any vaccinations?
You may need some vaccinations before you travel and we strongly advise you to see your GP and / or visit your pharmacy as they'll be able to provide assistance as well as give you the most up to date advice in any vaccines you may require before travel. There are many NHS travel clinics around that will have records of previous jabs and will be able to tell you what you'll need for your trip.
Travel insurance is mandatory for all our trips so please ensure you take a policy out before travelling.
Helpful Information
While the Philippines is less conservative than some of its neighbouring countries, it pays not to wear any very short or revealing clothing, out of respect for the country and culture.
It is not recommended to drink the tap water in the Philippines. Try to bring a reusable water bottle rather than buying multiple plastic bottles on your trip. Your leader will be able to direct you on where to find filtered water.
Try some local food! The Philippines has a mix of influences including Chinese, Spanish and American, and while not as famous as perhaps other South East Asian cuisine, it’s still very tasty. Adobo is a popular dish in the Philippines, considered by some to be the national dish. Be sure to give it a try.

Boracay, Bohol, and Palawan are the most popular destinations in the Philippines. Boracay Island is known for its beautiful white beach, along with its relaxing vibe and fun water sports activities that are good for families and friends. While Bohol is famous for its land tours – Chocolate hills and Tarsier Sanctuary that both give a unique experience and connection with the beauty of nature, you also get to experience dolphin watching early in the morning on an Island tour to Balicasag. Palawan is mostly know for its beautiful beaches and stunning turquoise water and famous dive spots/ island hopping spots like the Lagoons, Kayangan Lake, and so much more.
If you are not sure if it’s a good time to visit or not, There are many other destinations that can be an excellent addition to your trip instead. This can also be your opportunity to explore other, less touristy locations. If your main priority is comfort, you could pick one of the other major tourist spots such as Bohol or El Nido instead of Boracay. These 2 are great for families and honeymooners and are already among the most popular tourist spots in the Philippines. If you are feeling more adventurous, consider flying to Siargao or Coron instead – these are far less developed but equally stunning.

Best time to visit philippines.
With a year-round warm climate, expect hot weather when visiting the Philippines at any time of the year. Sea breezes prevail in the coastal regions between November and February, so travel during this time if you wish to take the edge off the heat. January to May are considered the optimum times to holiday here though, as it is best to avoid the typhoon season which runs from July to October and involves heavy rain, flooding and high winds.
Geography and environment
Consisting of more than 7,000 islands, the Philippines archipelago is located in the South-East of Asia , in between the South China Sea and the Philippine Sea. Being a part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, the Philippines is home to many active volcanoes and a staggering amount of biodiversity, with thousands of plant, mammal, fish and bird species living on land and in the sea. As a very mountainous country, the Philippines is dotted with numerous peaks, which give way to deep valleys that are often studded with rivers and streams. Tropical rainforest occupies much of the landmass, with most of the population living on the low lying coastal areas.
Festivals and events
With a history that dates all the way back to 1210, this flamboyant festival is considered one of the Philippines' best. Think massive ostentatious costumes, loud drumming, floats of parading dancers, riotous crowds and a healthy dose of partying and you've got Ati-Atihan - the Philippines' best shot at Rio Carnaval.
Grand Cordillera Festival
Baguio reserves the fourth last week of November to celebrate life and local culture with ethnic songs, dance, costume and food. This festival spreads peace and tolerance and provides an interesting snapshot of the lives of the ethnic people of the northern Luzon area.
Iloilo City gets its chance to party with its own version of Ati-Atihan. City streets are decked out with colourful banners, street stalls sizzle with barbecued pork, and chicken and costumed dancers compete for glory.
Feast of Our Lady of Candles
This annual display of epic religious pageantry features a procession of the patroness, fiesta queen and court through the streets and town centre of Jaro. Locals carry candles and a statue of the Virgin Mary to the town cathedral, where crowds of people wait. This spirited and vibrant festival is a great introduction to Filipino culture and religious celebration.
Obando Fertility Festival
Want to see couples dance through the streets in aid of hopefully producing a child? Each year, the town of Bulacan holds this festival for childless couples who wish to produce children. Couples dance down the street to the local church, dance up the aisle and attend mass in honour of the three local patron saints.
Public holidays that may impact travel include:
Chinese New Year
EDSA Revolution Anniversary

Escape the crowds, leave the ordinary behind. We open the doors to the authentic
Traveling is great.
But being surrounded by tourists lining up for the same photos you’ve seen a thousand times?
Not so much.
You know the Philippines is an incredible place, but when you follow the same route as everyone else, you start to wonder if you’re missing out on the best parts.
And let’s be honest—who wants to spend a lot of money on a vacation just to feel like another tourist?
Why Should You Care?
Imagine coming back home and realizing that all you have to share are experiences that everyone has already seen on Instagram.
No surprising anecdotes,
no hidden gems.
Just the same old “yes, I saw that too” response from your friends.
Meanwhile, there’s that nagging feeling that it could have been so much more.
You could have explored the unexplored, but you ended up with the usual. Is that really what you want?
Here’s the Solution
That’s where we come in.

We’re the antidote to mass tourism.

And for those who won’t settle for anything less, our Premium Trips ensure a luxury experience, with guides who will show you what no one else knows and accommodations you never imagined existed.

Since each Philippines Tour has a different duration, you would need to decide how many days are you going to spend exploring the Philippines. Are you going on a short trip of 5 days? A week? A couple of weeks? Or a month? Trying to figure out your total number of days and start from there. To give you an idea, the classic Philippines highlight tours usually roughly last from 08 to 19 days.
Step 2: Choose your Philippines Tour Style
After deciding the length of your dream trip in the Philippines, the next step is to choose your Philippines Tour Style which suits your preferences and wishes. For example, if you travel with your spouse, you might want to consider a romantic honeymoon tour. Simply take a peek at our collection of Philippines Tour Style and take your time to decide.
Step 3: Find out which are your favourite destinations in the Philippines
The Philippines is home to more than 7,200 islands with an abundance of best destinations to visit so it’s kind of hard to decide on the best places to explore. Don’t worry, take a look at our best Philippines destinations and write down a list of all the places you want to visit. This is a great start to plan your dream holiday.
Step 4: What are the activities you would like to take in your Philippines Tour?
After writing down a list of all the places in the Philippines that you want to visit, don’t forget to take a note of all the best activities you want to try in each destination. Some of our best Philippines Tours will focus on offering you a great opportunity to partake some thrilling outdoor adventures such as skydiving in Santa Fe, ziplining in Lake Sebu and windsurfing in Boracay while others will take you to some of the best heritage sites and gain an insightful view into the natural habitat and culture. Spending a short time to read through the highlights & tour summaries in each Philippines Tour, and write down anything you think is interesting for you.
Step 5: Read the detailed itinerary
Spending time to read through the detailed itinerary and know which experience you will have in each day, where to stay & what are inclusions & exclusions is a good way to make sure this is a perfect trip for you.
Step 6: Send us an enquiry
Whether you find out your ideal Philippines Tour or not, please feel free to send us an enquiry as our experts are always ready and happy to start working on your tailor-made journey based on your requirements and taste & help you organize your insider trip to the Philippines.

Philippines: A Country with Historical Significances
Before embarking on your Philippines vacation, it's crucial to equip yourself with essential travel information. Understanding the visa requirements, local customs, and so on will make your journey as smooth as possible. Buckle up for a ride through this diverse nation, and get ready for the trip of a lifetime!
The Culture
The Philippines unfolds as a captivating cultural tapestry, seamlessly weaving together a myriad of influences that have shaped the nation's identity. With a history marked by indigenous traditions, Spanish colonial heritage, and contemporary innovation, this archipelago offers an exhilarating journey through time and culture.
One of the most vibrant expressions of Filipino culture can be witnessed at the Sinulog Festival in Cebu, where the streets come alive in a rhythmic kaleidoscope of colours and dances. Likewise, the Panagbenga Festival in Baguio paints the town in the hues of spring, celebrating the season's bloom with an explosion of vibrant flora.
At the core of Filipino culture is the concept of "Bayanihan," a spirit of communal unity. Neighbours coming together to help one another isn't just a saying; it's a way of life that welcomes visitors as a family from the moment they set foot in the country.
Religion plays a profound role in Filipino life. The architectural marvels of churches like Manila's Quiapo Church and the UNESCO-listed Paoay Church in Ilocos Norte narrate stories of deep spirituality and historical grandeur. It's a testament to the deep-seated faith and artistic expression that characterizes the Filipino way of life.
The culinary journey in the Philippines is an adventure for the senses. From savouring the tangy delight of adobo to the comforting embrace of sinigang, each dish narrates a unique culinary story. The act of sharing meals is more than just dining; it's a reflection of the heart of Filipino hospitality, an experience that forges connections and leaves lasting memories.
In the Philippines, you're not a mere observer; you're an integral part of a cultural symphony. Your journey here is infused with warmth, joy, and creativity, leaving an indelible imprint on your heart, etching the cultural richness of this nation into your very soul.
The Best Time to Visit
Dry Season Delights (November - April):
For most travellers, the dry season, spanning from November to April, is the prime time to explore the Philippines. During these months, the weather is consistently pleasant, with clear skies and minimal rainfall. This is when the islands truly shine, offering endless opportunities for beach lovers, water sports enthusiasts, and island-hopping adventurers. The sea is at its calmest and clearest, making it an ideal period for diving and snorkelling. Whether you're unwinding on the powdery sands of Boracay, exploring the limestone formations of Palawan, or immersing in the vibrant culture of Manila, this season presents the perfect backdrop for your tropical escape.
The Rainy Season Revelation (June - October):
While the rainy season, from June to October, might deter some, it brings its own unique charm to the Philippines. The monsoon rains rejuvenate the landscapes, painting them in lush, vibrant greens. The occasional tropical downpour can be intense, but it's usually short-lived, followed by bursts of sunshine. This is the season when nature is at its peak, and the rice terraces in Banaue glisten with fresh, green growth. It's also the best time for surfers, as the waves reach their zenith along the coasts of Siargao and Baler. If you don't mind the sporadic rain and prefer cooler, more refreshing weather, you'll find the rainy season surprisingly enchanting.
Shoulder Months (May and November):
The shoulder months, May and November, offer a compromise between the dry and rainy seasons. While there might be fewer crowds and prices are often more budget-friendly, the weather can be a bit unpredictable. If you're flexible with your plans and keen to explore the Philippines without the peak-season hustle, these months can be ideal for your visit.
Things to Know
1. Haggling: Bargaining is a common practice in local markets, so don't hesitate to negotiate prices, especially in street markets and with tricycle or jeepney drivers.
2. Safety: While the Philippines is generally safe for tourists, it's essential to stay aware of your surroundings, avoid displaying valuable items, and be cautious in crowded places.
3. Island Time: The pace of life in the Philippines is relaxed, so don't be in a hurry. Enjoy the slower, more leisurely approach to daily activities.
4. Transportation: The Philippines has a range of transportation options, including jeepneys, tricycles, and ferries. Familiarize yourself with local transportation to get around efficiently.
5. Respect Local Customs: Filipinos are warm and friendly people. Show respect by covering up when visiting religious sites, taking off your shoes before entering someone's home, and addressing people with "sir" or "ma'am."
6. Language: Brush up on your Tagalog to be able to get better deals while bargaining and have a nicer experience with the locals.
Food & Drink
Prepare to embark on a culinary journey through the Philippines, where every dish tells a story deeply rooted in history and culture. The national favourite, adobo, is a tantalizing blend of soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and spices, creating a perfect balance of salty, tangy, and savoury flavours.
Sinigang, a tangy tamarind-based soup, offers a refreshing interplay of sourness and zest, featuring an array of vegetables and meats, making it an ideal comfort food. For the adventurous, there's Balut, a mature egg-based street food delicacy, presenting a unique blend of textures and flavours, often accompanied by salt and vinegar.
Don't miss the crispy delight of Lechon, a whole roasted pig with perfectly crispy skin and tender, succulent meat. As you explore markets and streets, you'll encounter the beloved dessert Halo-Halo. It's a delightful mix of crushed ice, sweet preserves, fruits, and purple yam ice cream. To complement your meal or simply savour on its own, there's San Miguel Beer, the nation's iconic brew.
This culinary adventure is more than just dining. It's an immersion into a rich and vibrant tradition that celebrates life, community, and the exquisite flavours that define the Philippines. Get ready to tantalize your taste buds and let the culinary magic of the Philippines sweep you into a gastronomic journey like no other.

Waste of time and money. Drop off at a stupid mall? Quick drive through China town with quick stop at arches with tinted windows? Traded Intramuros for American Cemetery as Intramuros tour already taken. Major waste of money compared to cab fare.

We recently did this trip and the entire experience was excellent. Guide to the Philippines was very good about communicating during the entire process, the trip it self was fantastic. The tour was one of the best my wife and I have ever done in our 20+ years of travel. Loved the Ruhe suites as well.

Buscalan was so beautiful and amazing secret town. The guid and driver were so kind and helpful. We really enjoyed the magical adventure trip!

My life and business partner, Tim, and I had a great time! I booked a 10-day tour through Guide to the Philippines. At first, I just felt that handing over our precious holiday to someone else was a bit uncomfortable, but we are so glad we did! This team of passionate professionals did everything they could to ensure we had an incredible holiday! The tour itself was extraordinary. We traveled to Bohol, Cebu, El Nido, and Puerto Princesa, beautiful places here in the Philippines, where we got to partake in some great activities like island hopping, folk dancing, lunch while river cruising, snorkeling, volleyball, kayaking, swimming with whale sharks and feeding monkeys; possibly a bit too wild, as we also bolted on all of the additional extras like mangrove boating, zip lining, and hiking, but that was more us, biting off more than we could chew but we don’t regret a thing! All the staff, from the airlines to the hotel and the tour itself, even those I only talked to through email whenever I have questions, are outstanding at doing their job! They took care of us like we were friends for a long time. To share why I need to have this vacation, I struggled to produce creative thoughts for the past few months (March to April), and I had to postpone some of my plans due to my lack of motivation to accomplish many important agendas. During the vacation, however, after doing some cleansing, grounding, and centering works in El Nido and thanksgiving offerings to nature (we are animistic), both during our easy and free time and a 10-day business with a leisure getaway, I'm always fired on by ingenious and innovative thoughts. And the thing is, I don't feel drained and exhausted physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I can still work early in the morning until evening without checking my pulse to see if it is still beating. And everything I do is yielding positive results! I'm more than happy than ever! Knowing how a tour like this can help you escape challenging times is incredible. I actually like this routine and my newly gained stamina. I'm just amazed by myself now. So once again, thank you, Guide to the Philippines, for giving us such an adventure! I'm planning to take my whole team to El Nido next year, so I expect we will book another tour through your site!

- Be Friendly : Filipinos are the most friendly people in the world. Locals love to greet people as a way of welcoming your visit, so reciprocating a friendly gesture with a smile will make the locals like you more.
- Always Say Thank You : Filipinos usually smile when dealing with visitors. One of the best ways to show appreciation is to simply say thank you. A small tip as a token of thanks is also a great idea.
Don’ts
- Don’t Be Too Flashy : Scammers and pickpockets are always on the lookout for tourists with flashy items. Only use them in safe places and not on the busy streets.
- Don’t Lose Patience : Traffic, and communication barriers can easily make you inpatient. Instead of losing your temper, find other quick solutions. Locals are usually cold towards hot-tempered tourists.
- Don’t Say No to Food : Filipinos show their hospitality by offering you food. The best way to thank them is to eat them. However, if you really couldn’t eat the meal, try to refuse in a gracious manner
- Don’t Walk The Streets Unaccompanied : In any country, there are also opportunistic individuals everywhere. Err on the side of safety. Don’t go out alone especially when it’s already late.
