Top-Rated Buffalo Bayou Kayak Tours!
We had a blast on our kayak tour. We took our 2 teenage daughters and they thought it was great as well. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept our group entertained. It was a great night! Definitely an experience you want to have in your lifetime.
10 out of 5 stars! My partner and I rented a tandem kayak from the very friendly, helpful, and informative staff and we had an amazing time. We saw all sorts of wildlife: baby turtles, ducklings, egrets, and blue herons! The only thing I wish I’d done differently is booked a longer experience! 1 hour is great, but 2 would have been amazing… Next time!
An excellent tour overall. Our guide was knowledgeable, gave great local history, allowed the kids to have fun and stay safe. Easy to work with and very responsive when I had questions. I would gladly take another kayaking tour!
Our guide did an awesome job leading the group and giving out information. Enjoyed a leisurely paddle to the bridge to observe the bats! The viewing was superior to any other vantage point. The paddle back also had awesome views of the skyline lit up in the darkness.
I brought an out-of-town friend here to go paddleboarding and it ended up being her favorite part of her trip! It was our first time and customer service was so friendly and helpful in ensuring we were comfortable on the boards. Super relaxing way to spend an afternoon!

Awesome tour! Eli was knowledgeable and entertaining-- like a real life Jungle Cruise in Texas! We saw several large alligators, blue heron, jumping mullet, super cool!
Captain Eli and his newest crew.
It was an amazing day and the guide was phenomenal in explaining the history. This is the third time I have been on one of his tours! A+
Captain Eli was great! Very knowledgeable about the wildlife in the area and made learning about everything a lot of fun! We saw several alligators. Would definitely recommend this tour.
Alligator swimming along side our boat.
Captain Eli is a gem! He is very knowledgeable about the eco system in the bayou along with the history if the area. He is a hoot too! If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend touring the Sabine river. It was devastating to see how the hurricanes destroyed the area. But God's creations are resilient and you can see nature rebuild.
Excellent tour guide. Capt. Ely knows his swamp and river well. I wore a white shirt, it was a bad choice. Alligators take you for a white crane.
Fabulous tour. Grateful that Captain Eli was willing to take us out in the late afternoon. Appreciate him accommodating my family. We chartered the tour, but worth every penny. I think I will let my wonderful 16 year old share her thoughts. Here she goes: This experience was very informative but not in the typical classroom way; the adventure was filled with jokes but also history and geography facts. I truly enjoyed and can't wait to go back in the summer when everything is in full bloom. There you have it. Bring friends, come and enjoy!!
Amazing experience! We loved it so much and made sure to save his info so we can come back and bring more friends. Highly recommend. I have done other swamp tours in the past, but I preferred this one.
Absolutely fantastic tour. Highly recommended. We got to see nesting gators, osprey, eagles and eagle nests, several water birds, and learned a lot of history. Just a great tour. We plan to do it again. I think they sometimes do night tours at Halloween! It's a bargain for a 1.5 hour tour.

At the tail end of our church mission trip, we booked a tour. Eli was awesome, funny, and super knowledgeable. The tour itself wasn't too short nor too long. Just the right duration. Totally recommend!
This was our second tour! This time we brought our kids. I felt safe and secure with captain Eli and the life jackets provided. We saw otters, beavers, fish, alligators, eagle, numerous birds-several kinds. Captain Eli identified many animals and plants and described everything to a T. It was a ton of fun! Can't wait to be back!
Beavers and babies. 3 adults and 2 babies.

Alligators & Swamps in Beaumont, TX
You want swamps and gators? We've got plenty! Southeast Texas is home to the largest alligator population in Texas. And Beaumont's Gator Country is the place to visit to get to know all about scaly reptiles - and even hold a baby gator. The park is home to nearly 600 alligators but the headliner of this popular family attraction is Big Tex, the largest alligator in captivity in Texas - and that's a fact certified by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. Big Tex is more than 13 feet 8-1/2 inches long and weighs roughly 1,000 pounds.
In town, visitors can spot alligators sunbathing along the banks of Hillebrandt Bayou and Willow Marsh Bayou within Cattail Marsh . The Marsh includes 900-acres of scenic wetlands and offers a variety of recreational activities with more than eight miles of gravel levee roads for jogging, hiking, biking, horseback riding, bird watching and wildlife photography.
For a less up close and personal encounter with alligators, step aboard the Ivory Bill, an open-air pontoon boat that offers a leisurely way to enjoy the Neches River. The Neches River is often called "the last wild river" in East Texas because of the diverse ecosystems that include bottomland forests, pine trees and an abundance of wildlife, including alligators. Neches River Boat Tours depart from the dock at Riverfront Park in downtown Beaumont. A complete list of swamp and river tour operators is below.
Just a short drive from Beaumont, you'll find Anahuac, McFaddin & Texas Point National Wildlife Refuges where you can explore bayous and trails along one of the largest remaining freshwater marshes on the Texas coast - and home to plenty of alligators.
