I went to see Ensiferum, but ended up having a better time watching Trollfest! Their performance was funny, energetic, and insane. To make things even better, they sounded just like their albums, which is always a plus. If you like crazy costumes, and crazy music, I'd definitely recommend Trollfest.

Taylor Swift’s Post-Concert Ritual Is the Opposite of Her Eras Tour Prep Routine

If you thought Taylor Swift spent the hours after each Eras Tour concert hooked up to an IV cocktail of vitamins and electrolytes, you’d be wrong—at least, not when Zoë Kravitz is in town.

The 35-year-old actor recently spent date night with fiancé Channing Tatum at one of Swift’s Wembley Stadium concerts in August. Despite spending three-and-a-half hours singing and dancing onstage, Kravitz says Swift made time for her friends directly following her London shows. In a new interview promoting her directorial debut, Blink Twice —a movie Swift highly recommends , by the way—Kravitz revealed how the 34-year-old pop star likes to unwind.

“After she performs for however many thousands of people, she just comes over after and we, like, drink some wine, and like eat a burger, and like hang out,” Kravitz said during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon . “You would just never know that she’d just performed at Wembley.”

This is a stark contrast to the Eras Tour prep routine Taylor Swift described to Time magazine back in December 2023. On top of singing the entire set list—44 songs, give or take—on the treadmill every day leading up to her first show, Swift said she gave up alcohol for the duration of the tour. “Doing that show with a hangover…I don’t want to know that world,” Swift said at the time.

The “Bejeweled” singer also used to clear her schedule for at least a day after each string of shows. “I do not leave my bed except to get food and take it back to my bed and eat it there,” she told Time . “It’s a dream scenario. I can barely speak because I’ve been singing for three shows straight. Every time I take a step my feet go crunch, crunch, crunch from dancing in heels.”

Clearly, Swift got used to the grind over the past seven months and can afford to grant herself a bit more leeway—especially considering the Eras Tour won’t pick back up until her Toronto shows in November. And even if she had concerts scheduled this weekend, the pop star has been performing relatively nonstop since March 2023. I think that warrants a glass of wine or thirteen.

According to Kravitz, Swift is remarkably adept at shaking off her stage persona after the show. “There are a lot of famous people who don’t let you forget that they’re famous,” Kravitz told Fallon. “They bring Wembley home with them if that makes sense. She really just turns into a normal person. It’s pretty crazy.”

What items are allowed inside Hard Rock Stadium? 

Hard Rock Stadium allows fans  one bag that is clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and does not exceed 12” by 6” and 12” or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar). In addition to one of the clear bags noted above, fans may also carry in a small clutch bag or purse approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap.

Items such as smartphones, binoculars, and cameras will still be permitted into the stadium. This policy is meant to speed up the process of entering the stadium along with increasing security measures.

The stadium does feature an extensive parking system with over 26,500 official car parking spaces, yet officials recommend advanced booking for anyone seeking a hassle-free parking experience.

AccuWeather experts said back in spring that daytime temperatures in Miami typically get up in the mid-80's in October, with evening temperature dropping to the upper 70's. They also noted that it's still a rainy month for the state with tropical systems forming, seeing anywhere from 7 to 7½ inches of rainfall.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour shows in Vienna were canceled earlier this month following an alleged plot to attack the stadium. Three people were arrested for allegedly planning to attack Taylor Swift’s first concert.

According to officials and news reports, police arrested a 19-year-old Austrian who is accused of planning an attack at Ernst Happel Stadium with “bladed weapons” and the "construction of a bomb." A 17-year-old who would have been working at the stadium during Swift's concert was also arrested and a 15-year-old was questioned by police.

Swift nor her team addresses the cancelations or the alleged attack. She went on to perform her six sold out shows in London a week later.

In other news for the popstar, both U.S. presidential candidates are eying her prized endorsement. After Swift posted to Instagram last fall to remind her followers to vote, a record of more than 30,000 people signed up through Vote.org during National Voter Registration Day. Many of the signups were in Florida, according to USA TODAY.

Some have speculated Swift has shown her support for Vice President Kamala Harris at her concerts, with her fans starting "Swifties for Kamala" events. Former President Donald Trump has also tried to get her fans' attention , posting artificially generated images alluding to her alleged support on his social media platform  Truth Social .

Why Cardinals sent Gorman, Walker to Triple-A

ST. LOUIS – When the Cardinals spent their time, energy and financial resources reworking their pitching staff and fortifying the bullpen last offseason, they left the everyday lineup largely untouched.

President of baseball operations John Mozeliak and manager Oliver Marmol were banking, of course, on cornerstone infielders Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado having big bounce-back seasons and delivering something close to the thump they possessed in 2022. Also, the club also pledged its faith in promising players Nolan Gorman , Jordan Walker , Brendan Donovan , Lars Nootbaar and Alec Burleson growing and lengthening the lineup.

When the Cardinals demoted Walker and Gorman to Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively, it showed the fallacy in not better addressing the lineup last offseason and what could happen over the long season if their young core fell flat. Mozeliak said as much on Tuesday while announcing the demotion of Walker , admitting that neglecting the offense “just shows you that when you think you have something figured out, you probably still need to address it.”

Much of the offensive struggles of this season fall squarely on the shoulders of Arenado and Goldschmidt, who have undergone power outages few in baseball ever could have predicted.

Arenado did deliver one of his biggest knocks of the season late Wednesday night when he hit just the ninth walk-off grand slam in the past 50 seasons for the Cardinals, per MLB.com research. But the Goldschmidt/Arenado slides wouldn’t have been nearly as glaring if Gorman and Walker – two of the top prospects in the organization in recent years – hadn’t taken steps backwards in 2024.

Gorman, who led the Cardinals in home runs in 2023 with 27, seemed poised for a monstrous season after working hard all offseason to calm the back issues that had hurt him throughout his first two MLB seasons. The 24-year-old lefty slugger opened the season hitting between Goldschmidt and Arenado, but on Tuesday, he was in the eighth spot in the lineup, where he went hitless in four at-bats.

Even for an all-or-nothing slugger, Gorman’s swing-and-miss rate soared in St. Louis this season. His strikeout rate spiked from 31.9 percent in 2023 to 37.6 percent in 2024, as did his whiff rate (35.5 percent to 38.7 percent). As the strikeouts climbed to 151, his batting average dipped to .203 and he went homerless over his last 14 games before the demotion.

I asked Mozeliak a day before the Gorman demotion if that was a possible fix for the former first-round pick, and he took it a step further by saying, “Obviously, it’s a game of production up here and at some point, you’ve got to consistently produce, or we have to find someone who can.”

The Cardinals thought they uncovered a foundational piece for the next decade in 2023 when they put the 6-foot-6 Walker on the Opening Day roster. All he did after that was register hits in his first 12 games as a big leaguer at the raw age of 20 years old.

However, the Cardinals weren’t happy with Walker’s elevated ground ball rate, or his pitch selection and they sent him down – both in 2023 and again this season. Unlike last year, when Walker returned to the big leagues, went back into a full-time role and finished with a flurry, this time around, he was used only in a platoon role. While in the bigs for just a week, Walker saw playing time in just four games – three as a starter and once as a pinch-hitter – and he went 1-for-11 in disjointed playing time before being sent back to Triple-A.

Considering how things went sour with another former top prospect in the Cards' organization, Dylan Carlson – who was dealt to the Rays at the Trade Deadline – it was curious treatment of Walker, who recently had monstrous homers of 446 and 434 feet in the Minor Leagues.

Marmol said his message to Gorman was the same as what he had told Walker a day earlier. In a sport where confidence and rhythm play major roles in the development of young players, the Cards are hopeful that Gorman and Walker overcome the potential negative effects of getting demoted and use their time to improve so that they can rejoin the big league club.

“The one thing I told [Gorman] is, I don't want him to go down there with the thought of, 'This is where my season ends, and then I just focus on the offseason,’” Marmol said. “My hope is that he gets on track and then we have a decision to make sometime in September. I think this will serve him well. I think it's needed.”

Burning Man tickets haven't sold out for the first time since 2011. Here's why.

Burning Man's allure appears to be fading with festival goers, as tickets are still available ahead of its August 25 kickoff. It's the first time since 2011 that the event hasn't sold out long before its opening day.

Bad weather at the desert event during the past two years appears to be slowing Burning Man ticket sales for this year's festival, which runs from Aug. 25 to Sept. 2. 

After Burning Man attendees endured extreme heat in 2022, followed by heavy rain and muddy conditions in 2023, many would-be "Burners," as festival attendees are called, are staying home this year. Economic factors could be at play too, given that tickets for the Black Rock City, Nevada, event sell for $575 a pop, and some consumers may be cutting back on spending after years of elevated inflation.

Tickets are still available directly through the organizer for the typically sold-out event, plus they're hitting resale sites at roughly half their price. The Burning Man Project, the non-profit that runs the festival, is hosting an "OMG Ticket Sale" on its  website , selling last-minute entries even for guests who didn't pre-register, which is a usual requirement to attend.

This year, Burning Man is selling 3,000 tickets for $575 each, plus 1,500 vehicle passes for $150. Those who decide they want to attend last minute can also scour resale sites such as StubHub for even cheaper entry. 

One resale listing advertises a pair of general admission tickets for $268 each, while another lists two tickets for $279 each. 

Last-minute Burning Man ticket sales

Founded in 1986 in San Francisco, Burning Man moved to the desert in 1990. In recent years, the event has typically drawn around 80,000 people, according to the organization. It has sold out each year since 2011, according to The Guardian.

Burning Man chief executive Marian Goodell this week told the New York Times that organizers decide how many tickets to sell each year, and that "when the demand is lower, we simply turn the faucet back on."

"By opening the OMG Sale to everyone, including those who did not register, and selling tickets for instant gratification at outlets in San Francisco and Reno, we are creating the opportunity for this to 'be the year' people interested in creativity, innovation, and culture make it to Black Rock City," Burning Man associate director of communications Dominique Debucquoy-Dodley said in a statement to CBS MoneyWatch. 

He added that the decision to hold a last-minute ticket sale also reflects "recent trends around the world that show last minute ticket buying, and continuing to sell tickets until the maximum Black Rock City population count is reached, encourages immediacy and makes it easy for more people to immerse themselves at the heart of the global Burning Man cultural movement."

Goodell added in a statement that the sale "is an exciting opportunity to connect more people interested in Burning Man and the arts and culture."

What happened last year?

Last year's extreme weather conditions could be turning people off from attending this year. In 2023, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office closed the main road to the festival's entrance, leaving attendees stranded at the site for days. They were instructed to conserve resources while they waited for road conditions to improve.

And in 2022, temperatures rose to above 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the course of the festival. 

Music festivals Coachella and Lollapalooza have similarly struggled with ticket sales this year, according to a report from the  Los Angeles Times , suggesting that economic considerations could be at play. 

Ticket prices make up just part of the cost of attending Burning Man. After factoring in flights, vehicle passes, costumes and other supplies, attendees say they spend thousands to partake in the revelry.   

In recent years, Burning Man has attracted a greater share of high-income earners, with 35% of attendees earning between $100,000 to $299,999 in 2023, up from 21% in 2015,  demographic data shows. Meanwhile, there's been a sharp decrease in those who earn less than $50,000 a year attending, according to the same data. 

But there are signs even wealthier Americans are starting to curb their spending, which could be contributing to weaker-than-usual Burning Man ticket sales this year. A survey published in June from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia found one-third of people earning over $150,000 said they were worried about making ends meet over the next six months.

Lower kimono sales

Businesses that cater to Burning Man celebrants also say they're feeling the pinch. David Carr, owner of San Francisco apparel store Kimono Dave, said the shop typically makes between 25% to 40% of all its sales during the week leading up to Burning Man. 

This year, though, that might not be the case. 

"It's taken a lot longer for people to start shopping than we are used to seeing," Carr told CBS MoneyWatch.

He's encouraged, though, by a recent near-record sales day that he believes is related to this year's cooler forecast. Carr sews every piece he sells himself, including many coats. 

"The weather is trending to be much colder than it's been the past few years, so that could be why I had such a huge sales day yesterday," he said. 

Carr, 34, has himself attending Burning Man for the past 14 years, and wouldn't dare miss an event. He suspects that the last two years' bad weather as well as the economy have contributed to lackluster ticket sales this year. He said he believes it could be good news for stalwarts like himself. "It has really weeded out a lot of the fair weather 'Burners,'" he said.
