Inside Tina Turner's Empowering Final Album, 1999's 'Twenty Four Seven,' 20 Years Later
As the GRAMMY winner approaches her 80th birthday and the launch of her own Broadway musical, we look back at her final album, her illustrious career and her inspiring perseverance
This month, GRAMMY-winning rock icon Tina Turne r turns 80, and though retired, her voice is still resonating as loud as ever. In 2018 alone, Turner earned the GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award and released her second memoir, My Love Story . Turner’s legendary impact on music history has also risen to the surface yet again in the form of a musical, "Tina: The Tina Turner Musical," which hits Broadway on Nov. 7. The soundtrack is composed of Tina Turner classics, and the subject herself served as the primary consultant. Turner, whom Mick Jagger credits for some of his own signature dance moves, helped train the Tina impersonators, describing to the New York TImes in a September interview how she had to pause her retirement momentarily in order to demonstrate how to “do the pony.”

Tina Turner is, in the words of Oprah Winfrey, “The world’s first ever black female rock n’ roll star.” Capturing audiences with her deep, powerful voice and energetic stage presence, Turner paved the way for stars like Whitney Houston and Beyoncé . She showed the world that women of color can be solo rock artists, too. Throughout her decades-long solo career, Turner sold out stadiums all over the world, accumulating fame for her remarkable live performances, chart-topping songs like “We Don’t Need Another Hero” and “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” and of course, her iconic hair. According to the African American Registry, Turner sold more tickets than any solo artist in history. Still, her triumphant solo career did not come easily.
Turner, whose music has won her eight GRAMMY Awards from 25 nominations, was subjected to years of physical and emotional abuse from her musical counterpart and first husband, Ike Turner, before finally breaking free in 1976. Her early success began as a member of the Ike and Tina Turner Revue. Many do not know that the young singer, then known as Anna Mae Bullock, had no say in her own renaming and rebranding, which Ike patented behind the scenes before the release of their first album with Sue Records. He did it “so he could own me,” Turner explains in a 2013 interview with Winfrey. She describes in her 1989 memoir, I, Tina , that finally escaping abuse in 1976 also meant accepting the fact that her music career may be over.
“What was it like when I walked out and left Ike? Yeah - I was afraid. But sometimes you’ve got to let everything go - purge yourself. I did that. I had nothing, but I had my freedom. My message here … is: If you are unhappy with anything…whatever is bringing you down, get rid of it. Because you’ll find that when you’re free, your true creativity, your true self comes out.” Turner wrote.
Cleaning houses, food stamps, and the generosity of friends got the Tennessee-born musician through these most trying moments in her life. It wasn’t until 1983 that she managed to make her comeback, signing with Capitol Records and winning Billboard’s Comeback of the Year award with her first solo album, Private Dancer .
“I didn’t have anybody. Really, no foundation in life, so I had to make my own way. Always, from the start. I had to go out in the world and become strong, to discover my mission in life," Turner wrote in My Love Story.
This year also marks the 20-year anniversary of Turner’s 10th and final album, Twenty Four Seven , and its uplifting messages of female empowerment couldn’t be more relevant. In the era of #MeToo, survivors are looking to role models like Turner more than ever for both comfort and inspiration.
“Whatever is bringing you down, get rid of it. Because you’ll find that when you’re free, your true creativity, your true self comes out.” - Tina Turner, I, Tina, 1989
On the album’s first single, “When the Heartache is Over,” the sultry-voiced diva sings with an audible smile about the joys of being liberated from an unhealthy relationship. The upbeat song sets the stage for an overall optimistic yet emotional album. Twenty Four Seven, which was released in the U.K. on Nov. 2, 1999, is rich with themes of survival and perseverance amidst refreshing, new undertones of vulnerability; a beautiful way to end a recording career for someone who not only survived domestic abuse, but fiercely fought and overcame domestic abuse that threatened to ruin her music career.
Since Turner decided in advance (and told her manager) that Twenty Four Seven was going to be her final album, she was able to personalize it and approach it with a new sense of freedom. It was a good-bye album and a passion project for the public.
On Twenty Four Seven , Turner worked with songwriters she considered close friends, such as Terry Britten , as well as several new producers whom she encouraged to experiment with ‘90s production techniques. Turner is also noticeably more raw, even taking a gentler tone in songs like, “Don’t Leave Me this Way,” which empathizes with listeners suffering from abandonment.
Echoes of her earlier work are scattered throughout the album as well. The goosebump-inducing gospel choir in “Talk to My Heart,” for instance, brings us straight back to Tina’s soul days in this impassioned ballad about the magic of finding ‘the one.’

Turner is currently living life to the fullest in Switzerland with her ‘one,’ husband and partner of 33 years, Erwin Bach. “He’s really 60 and I’m really 15,” she joked in a 1996 interview when asked about the age gap between herself and the German record executive, who is sixteen years her junior. Tina may be turning 80 on Nov. 26, but she is still a kid at heart.
“ I have a simple, childlike view of life,” Turner told O in May of 2005, “And I want to keep it."

Revisiting ‘Private Dancer’ At 40: How Tina Turner’s Liberation Album Remains A Musical Salvation
Released in May 1984, ‘Private Dancer’ was a musical tour de force. The record saw Tina Turner shed her assured vocal talents, exposing some fragility while adding in some sultriness too, to share a powerful tale of finally finding liberation.
“How it all came about was a miracle,” says Terry Britten , the co-writer and producer of Tina Turner ’s “ What’s Love Got To Do With It .”
The enduring single on Turner's 1984 album Private Dancer , released 40 years ago this month, was the songstress' ultimate emancipating act. It liberated her from the strictures of a music career bound to former husband Ike Turner , and debuted a new, self-possessed persona that highlighted her own rich talents as a solo artist. Decades on, the album remains a searing testament to resilience and the power of raw, honest expression.
Private Dancer , her fifth solo outing, was the beginning of Turner's renaissance and next era. Still, some of its most powerful songs — including “What’s Love” — almost didn’t make the cut. In fact, the song’s woeful quality and halted vocals proved an obstacle for Turner.
“After all this time, I’ve realized what the problem was and why she didn’t like it: because she was so damn vulnerable in it,” Britten tells GRAMMY.com. “She’d never been that vulnerable before in a song.”
Turner had long wrestled with her public image and allowing listeners into her inner world. Despite her success in the '70s and the subsequent 1976 breakdown of her abusive marriage to Ike (which left her penniless), followed by less successful Las Vegas revue shows, Turner was wary of conceding defeat.
Her career revival was largely born after Turner had made a cameo appearance in 1982 on the synth-inspired remake of The Temptations ' “ Ball of Confusion .” Masterminded by pop band Heaven 17’s Martyn Ware, the song netted Turner a singles deal with Capitol Records. Her next pairing with Ware, a remake of Al Green ’s “ Let’s Stay Together ,” was a runaway success, charting at number six in the UK and No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100, in late 1983 and early 1984 respectively.
Chart success had eluded Turner for years, so by February 1984 Capitol quickly demanded a full album — with two weeks to deliver it. With Turner already on tour in the UK then, her manager, Roger Davies , raced around London seeking potential tracks. Davies had been old friends with Britten back in Australia, and reached out about available songs.
Co-written with Graham Lyle , Britten's "What’s Love” had been skipped over by British rock singer Cliff Richard. Its rumination on sexual over romantic desire awaited a new voice.
Turner's powerhouse vocals gave the track the justice it so called for. Just as her vocal prowess was put on display, "What's Love" also underscored Turner's ability to bring both fragility and sultriness to a song. The combination would soon propel Turner to worldwide domination.
In the studio, Britten leaned on Turner’s dancing background to make the meditative ballad work. Turner struggled with the song’s languid rhythm, so Britten suggested she jog on the spot. “We jogged at the mic,” he says. “Soon enough, she got it!”
Britten believes “What’s Love” showed Turner, for the first time, how empowering vulnerability could be. “She realized she could act out these songs,” he reflects. “The whole direction of her career changed in that moment.”
Released in May 1984, “What’s Love” slowly scaled the charts, competing for prime position with the likes of Prince ’s “ When Doves Cry ” and Lionel Ritchie ’s “ Stuck on You .” “What’s Love” ultimately landed at No. 1 in August 1984 — staying there for three weeks — and fast-tracked Turner’s forceful musical renaissance.
The arrival of Private Dancer only galvanized the transformation.
The album was a mixture of old and new, figuratively stitching together a reinvigorated yet still rock ’n’ roll Turner. There were completely new tracks and sounds, like the synth-infused “What’s Love” and spunky, pulsating “Show Some Respect” (another Britten number). Covers of the Beatles ’ “ Help! ” and David Bowie ’s “ 1984 ,” meanwhile, were reimagined with searching gospel energy and symphonic orchestral strings.
There was an emphasis on storytelling across Private Dancer , with lyrical explorations of respect, love, and desire, paired with Turner’s frayed timbre. “ I Might Have Been Queen ” was penned by Jeannette Obstoj and Rupert Hine in response to hearing Turner’s life story. From a youth picking cotton in Tennessee to her years as a double act with Ike, Obstoj took Turner’s trying life (and lifelong interest in Ancient Egypt) to craft an earthy narrative textured by stories of grief and self-understanding. The stomping funk result was an anthemic tribute, celebrating Turner as she sang proudly of being a “sole survivor.”
Allowed into Turner’s inner sanctum, listeners could better understand and relate to the singer’s past life — whether these were real stories or imagined tales. Songs like “Private Dancer,” seemingly about a dancer who keeps a firm psychological distance from her job as a means of self-protection, couldn’t help but be tied back to Turner’s former life as the mistreated singing partner to Ike. Turner’s coarse vocals — retelling regret with the ballad “ Better Be Good to Me ,” or celebrating self-confidence on “Show Some Respect” — underscored her toughness as she sang about respect and recognition.
Tina Turner’s emotional depth and lyrical confessions resonated with critics and listeners, affirming Turner as sensitive, soulful and, above all, an iconic solo artist. The success of the record at the 1985 GRAMMYs only affirmed Turner's status.
Britten, who won two gramophones for his work and joined Turner on stage to collect the GRAMMY for Record Of The Year, said that the audience — there and even at home watching — manifested her three wins that night. “In between introductions, you could hear the whole crowd going, ‘Tina! Tina! Tina!’” he says. “It was like the whole auditorium wanted her to win. In fact, they willed her to win.”
The entire musical project was a frenzied worldwide phenomenon: the confident comeback story of a 45-year-old liberated woman. Private Dancer represents a rare redemption for a female artist over 40 — a script contemporaries have taken cues from.
Madonna enjoyed a return serve with her revealing 1998 spiritual album Ray of Light , a record that saw her achieve renewed commercial success — and perhaps most important to her, critical acclaim. After the abject failure of 2001’s Glitter , Mariah Carey stormed the charts (and GRAMMYs) in 2005 with her confessional but defiant album, The Emancipation of Mimi . Janet Jackson , no longer suffering public shame after the infamous Superbowl incident and finally free to release music under her own label, returned revealing a more mature, reflective artist with 2015’s Unbreakable . Each album privileged some aspect of self-exposure and sonic difference to mount a comeback where audiences were invited in.
Publicly sharing some vulnerability while also celebrating fortitude, continues to enliven the story of Private Dancer — and the listening experience decades on. After Tina Turner's death in 2023, critics reappraised the record and the seismic impact of “What’s Love.” Some said the song was an enduring “call to action” on finding independence, while others concluded that Private Dancer alone “lifted [Turner] into the pop stratosphere.”
The record represents one of history’s greatest musical comebacks. Its emotional depth, paired with a tough if sometimes frayed sound, gave listeners a deeply resonant tale about overcoming.
“She gave me such trust,” Britten says of recording with Turner. “I can’t tell you what a moving experience it was.” With Private Dancer , Turner entrusted listeners with her own vulnerable admissions, many of which continue to resonate and inspire today.

GRAMMY Rewind: Watch Tina Turner Win Her First Solo GRAMMY In 1985 For "What's Love Got To Do With It?"
Relive the moment Tina Turner won a golden gramophone for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female — an opportunity she had been waiting for "for such a long time."
During her remarkable 83 years of life, the late Tina Turner received eight GRAMMY awards, a GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award, and three introductions into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame.
In this episode of GRAMMY Rewind , we travel to 1985, when Turner won a golden gramophone for one of her many iconic hits, "What's Love Got to Do with It?," in the Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female, category.
"I've been waiting for this opportunity for such a long time," she said in her acceptance speech. "I have to thank many people. And all of you that I don't get to thank, you must know that it's in my mind."
Among those "many people," Turner praised Graham Lyle and Terry Britten , who wrote the track; John Carter, her A&R "who played a wonderful part" in relaunching her career with Capitol Records in the '80s; and Roger Davies , her manager, "a great man who has done a great job with her career."
Later that night, "What's Love Got To Do With It?" helped Turner win Record Of The Year; she also took home Best Rock Vocal Performance, Female, for "Better Be Good to Me." Though the 1985 ceremony marked Turner's first solo awards, she first won a GRAMMY in 1972 alongside her ex-husband, Ike Turner , for their recording of "Proud Mary."

Take a moment to salute the members of the music community we lost in 2022-2024.
Below is a tribute to the luminaries and esteemed professionals from the music community we lost between Dec. 5, 2022, through Jan. 26, 2024.
During the 2024 GRAMMYs broadcast, the Recording Academy's In Memoriam segment featured performances by several masterful musicians. Annie Lennox was joined by Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman to honor Sinéad O’Connor . Stevie Wonder took the stage to pay homage to the legendary Tony Bennett , Jon Batiste honored the "Godfather of Black Music" Clarence Avant and Fantasia Barrino paid tribute to the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll, Tina Turner . Every individual who passed away before the publication date has also been respectfully commemorated in the official 2024 GRAMMYs program book .
The Recording Academy offers its profound respect and appreciation for the unique gifts and enduring contributions these individuals have bestowed upon our culture and collective spirit.

Divas Live (1999)
Divas Live '99 was a charity concert for the VH-1 - Save The Music Foundation at New Yorks Beacon Theatre on April 13, 1999. Tina opened the show, walking from a black limousine through the entrance into the theatre on the stage, first performing her anthem The Best . After a short greeting, she did a wonderful version of Let’s Stay Together and was then accompanied by Elton John on the song The Bitch Is Back and „the oldest diva of all“ with Proud Mary . At the end of this song, Cher danced onto the stage and they finished it as a duet. The entire performance from Tina, but unfortunately without Let's Stay Together , was later released on the Divas Live album and home video. Actually, Tina and Elton planned an elaborate co-headlining tour after this event, with the release of a greatest hits album from Tina. But during the rehearsals, Tina wasn’t happy with the band, stopped everyone from playing and instructed Elton how to play Proud Mary . He then went into a rage, which he apologized for later. Because of this, Tina canceled all common activities and decided instead to record her final studio album Twenty Four Seven . So, this is the very last common activity between Elton and Tina.

Andrew’s Blu-ray Review: ‘ONE LAST TIME LIVE IN CONCERT’ was filmed at Wembley Stadium during the “Twenty Four Seven Millennium Tour 2000,” this is a state-of-the-art stage set, 18 cameras, one of the world’s directors David Mallet; combined with Tina Turner’s usual powerful performance and make this, and event never to be forgotten. It also shows a typical American giant spectacle and spared no expense. The best and the biggest are the categories in which Americans think obviously, when it comes to its foreign or self-presentation. The stage design is simply gigantic. The lightshow insanely expensive, especially from the special effects such as crane, hoist, explosions, fireworks and fire do not even talk.
We have a euphoric announcement by the celebrated American actor James Earl Jones, and supported by seven musicians, including John Miles, two backup singers and three dancers’ spreads the diva again from all their musical life before the well-humoured, appeared before mass audience. No matter what stage of this several decades spanning success story Turner Turner light up as part of the Gala, the reactions from the audience are always euphoric.
‘ONE LAST TIME LIVE IN CONCERT’ includes an entire Tina Turner show from the era, and also bringing the native of Tennessee singer, as one knows it from her, even highly idiosyncratic versions of several numbers that are also known by other artists here. As befits this kind of occasion, Tina Turner plays tunes from throughout her career. From the “Twenty Four Seven Millennium Tour 2000,” we find four tracks: the title tune as well as “Absolutely Nothing’s Changed;” “When the Heartache Is Over” and “Whatever You Need.” We also get a mix of numbers from her solo years. Not surprisingly, 1984’s comeback smash Private Dancer provides the most material, as it gives us five songs: “Private Dancer;” “What’s Love Go to Do With It;” “Let’s Stay Together;” “Better Be Good to Me” and “Help!” We also discover “We Don’t Need Another Hero” from the 1985 Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome soundtrack plus “The Best” off the 1989’s “Foreign Affair” CD Album.
For the most part, I felt the set included a nice variety of material. The appearance of the “Twenty Four Seven Millennium Tour 2000,” kept the show from becoming nothing more than a total oldies act, but she clearly knew what the audience wanted and she gave it to them. Since a lot of her more recent work has been pretty dull, that’s a good thing. I respect artists who attempt to keep their shows lively, but the songs need to support their appearance.
None of the “Twenty Four Seven Millennium Tour 2000” songs seemed tremendously memorable, but they came across more strongly than the “Wildest Dreams” efforts did. At least on this tour, Tina had the good sense to go out on top. Whereas Amsterdam ended on a somnambulant note, “Twenty Four Seven Millennium Tour 2000” closed this concert with a bang that better suited Tina’s fiery personality. For the video presentation of the concert, we found a good but unexceptional staging. Happily, the video offered a better balance of elements than did Amsterdam; also directed by David Mallet, the latter concentrated too highly on the dancers and Capello and appeared slightly bland. ‘ONE LAST TIME LIVE IN CONCERT’ did nothing inventive or original, but it captured the essence of the performance to a reasonably positive degree. But despite this, Tina Turner, is at least most authentic, the spectacle is always when Ms. Tina Turner concert is a no frills concept, but with the band included background singers share the stage and just sings. All in all it is just pure dynamic music!

Blu-ray Image Quality – ‘ONE LAST TIME LIVE IN CONCERT’ presents us with image variation throughout the concert. A few wider shots came across as slightly soft, but those instances seemed minor. Overall, the image remained crisp and well defined. Jagged edges and moiré effects caused no significant problems, and I saw no signs of edge enhancement. One infrequently used overhead camera showed some jaggiest, but it only popped up a few times, so it wasn’t a major issue. Source flaws seemed absent. I saw no video noise of digital artefacts, and the material remained nicely clean and clear throughout the concert. Contrast looked a little off at times, as parts of the show were somewhat too bright. This issue really did seem mostly related to the daytime factor; once it became dark, I saw less of those concerns. Black levels appeared acceptably deep and rich, and shadow detail was fine for the most part. Except for the mildly excessive brightness, those elements of the image were fairly well balanced. Ultimately, 'One Last Time' presented a good picture; it definitely could have been so much better, but it seemed sort of satisfying.
Blu-ray Audio Quality – The 5.1 DTS-HD-Master Audio quality sounded fairly solid. Vocals appeared natural and distinct. They featured a little “stadium reverb” to give us the correct sense of place, but the mixers didn’t go nuts with this element, so Tina Turner’s voice remained crisp and warm. A few times when she Tina Turner shouted at the crowd, her declarations sounded distorted, but that problem didn’t affect her singing. All instruments seemed clear and bright, and they showed good fidelity. At times they got a little buried in the mix, especially since we heard that illogical crowd noise in the front, but usually the instruments came through effectively. Only some pyro effects brought it briefly to life; no musical elements came from the subwoofer. The mix still displayed decent low-end most of the time, but I felt it lacked the appropriate depth and oomph. Overall, the track remained quite good, and I had no major complaints with it, but it fell short of greatness.
Blu-ray Special Features and Extras:
Special Feature: Backstage With Tina [2000] [1080p] [1.78:1] [17:50] This special feature is in conjunction with the ‘ONE LAST TIME LIVE IN CONCERT.’ We get to see the massive of fans arriving at Wembley Stadium and are asked for their favourite Tina Turner song, as well as seeing Tina Turner and here entourage on the private plane ready to land at Heathrow Airport, as well seeing all the background crew getting everything set up for the concert. It also features snippets of the sell-out concert, and some behind-the-scenes material and shots of fans, and interview snippets with Tina Turner and discusses her career and her final tour, as well as her love for Wembley Stadium and her British fans that started her career. As we near the end of this special feature, Tina Turner felt the final concert at Wembley Stadium was a way of going out in style, because 60 years of age, it was time to bow out gracefully and a fitting end to her illustrious long career. Overall, the piece offers a couple of decent moments and Tina Turner’s “Backstage With Tina” offers an insight into who is the real Tina Turner.
Andrew’s Blu-ray Review: ‘CELEBRATE!’ [1999] Here we have Eagle Vision presents another excellent musical programme, although this time it's not completely a concert presentation. CELEBRATE! is a Tina Turner 60th Birthday Party Concert that includes some of her biggest hits such as "What's Love Got To Do With It." I believe this was also broadcast as well, but here on this amazing Blu-ray we get the full experience with a 2.0 LPCM Stereo Audio and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, but I felt the 2.0 LPCM Stereo Audio had the slight edge.
Tina Turner’s ‘CELEBRATE!’ Concert is the most indestructible original voice of soul music that celebrates six decades on planet earth! CELEBRATE! includes Tina Turner’s live 60th Birthday Concert, featuring duets with Bryan Adams. Also clips of archive performance with Cher, Rod Stewart, David Bowie and Mick Jagger. Plus a string of dedications to Tina Turner by a host of stars, including Will Smith, Cher, Ricky Martin, Oprah, Mariah Carey, Sting, Al Green, Bill Wyman, Phil Spector, Mark Knopfler, Bob Geldof, Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Annie Lennox, Dolly Parton and Bono and The Edge. Intercut with interviews with the birthday girl herself and this is true celebration of Tina Turner at her best.
Tina Turner has been a remarkable talent in rock and roll for quite some time. In 1999, there was a concert in London to celebrate what was then her 60th birthday. This amazing Blu-ray release is a fantastic showcase for not only Tina Turner’s talent, but an incredible line-up of well-known names that joined her to celebrate. As Tina Turner takes the stage, she remarks "It's Thunderdome all over again" and that's an apt comparison for the venue. Tina Turner is in a stage at the centre of the audience with the musicians behind her, but it's nearly a circular setting. Tina Turner has backup dancers, and her band includes Bryan Adams as well as the backing of the Royal Symphony Orchestra. Tina Turner is also joined by the London Gospel Choir for the song “Whatever You Need.”
Is it a good concert? I really think Tina Turner doesn't know how to not put on a bad concert. I think there are hardly any entertainers who give as much heart and soul on stage as she does, and that certainly shows again here in this remarkable performance as a very talented group of musicians and dancers provide additional support. ‘CELEBRATE!’ is a damn fine birthday concert, but seems a little too stage managed and, therefore, lacks some of the passion we've come to expect from Tina Turner. If you've never seen Tina Turner live, you need to see this as the next best thing. Definitely a great bonus for her amazing dedicated fans.

Blu-ray Image Quality – The 1080p image quality of the ‘CELEBRATE!’ concert is totally outstanding as well in comparison to most other concerts that have been released on the inferior DVDs. The 1.78:1 presentation is actually anamorphic, and the picture quality is often fantastic during the concert, with perfect sharpness and great detail. Colours are also excellent, with warm colours from the lights washing over the stage, but still looking crisp on this awesome Blu-ray presentation. I didn't notice anything in the way of problems such as pixilation or shimmering. But overall it is totally sharp, well-defined presentation that was a pleasure to view.
Blu-ray Audio Quality – As the programme goes back and forth between concert footage and clips about Tina Turner, the sound for the other footage is nothing elaborate. The concert footage, on the other hand, sounds absolutely fantastic. Offered in both the 2.0 LCPM Stereo Audio and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, this was an instance where I felt that the 2.0 LCPM Stereo Audio version sounded noticeably, if not hugely, fuller and richer sound. Tina Turner's fantastic voice sounds very natural and clear, and the music comes through very well. With the 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio the surround sounds are often just used for crowd noise; the majority of music is via the front speakers. Although I probably wouldn't put this in the list of most impressive concert for audio presentation, but it certainly delivered very pleasing audio quality and I found it an extremely enjoyable.
Special Feature: Promo Videos : Here we get to view two brilliant stunning videos and they are as follows:
When The Heartache Is Over / Whatever You Need [2000] [1080p] [1.78:1] [8:22]
Please Note: Both these music videos run as one complete music video.
Finally, the sound for both gigs is selectable in either in 2.0 LPCM Stereo Audio and 5.1 DTS-HD-Master Audio. The sound is phenomenal and a superb loud-blast by re-mastering by Eagle Vision. Both shows have been by the film-material re-optimised the best way. The ‘ONE LAST TIME LIVE IN CONCERT’ from Wembley Stadium at the time it was recorded by the best cameras available in 2000, though it has a bit of weakness by the sharpness of the images and also by the colours. But of course both shows are a delight, but in my opinion the ‘CELEBRATE!’ Concert is the best of the bunch by far, but despite this, Eagle Vision has done a brilliant job for what was available, total respect! Highly Recommended!
