‘Travelers’ Season 3: Everything We Know So Far

Jacob Robinson What's on Netflix Avatar

There’s not long to go before we see the return of Travelers ! The time-travel drama has become massively popular on Netflix over the past couple of years, and many fans will be excited for the third season, which will air this December. With its release imminent, here’s everything we know so far about season 3 of Travelers .

Travelers is the Canadian sci-fi time-travel show created by Brad Wright.  Travelers have been screened to Netflix subscribers internationally since its debut in 2016. The Canadian TV show originally aired on the Canadian channel Showcase but after the second season, Netflix acquired the rights for the sole production and distribution of the show. Now the show will be released worldwide as it will no longer air on Showcase.

In the future, the world is in a post-apocalyptic state. A group of operatives known as the ‘Travelers’ are sent back in time to help prevent the collapse of society. The operative’s consciousness is transferred into present-day individuals that are moments from death. Transferring their minds to these individuals minimizes the impact on the timeline. In teams of five, the ‘Travelers’ missions are dictated by the Director, an A.I from the future that analyses the timeline to stop the catastrophic events from happening.

What can we expect from season 3?

The team will be under even more pressure after their existence was exposed to the world. As they strive to keep their knowledge of the traveler program hidden from the public, their missions are being watched by the FBI. With each member team being pushed ever closer to a breaking point will they save the world?

The hunt for Traveller 001 will continue on and not to mention the ongoing fight against the Faction.

Who’s in the cast for season 3?

The cast members returning to Travelers are as follows:

How many episodes are there?

The third season will also have 12 episodes. Each episode will have a run time between 44 and 50 minutes.

Will all the episodes be released at once?

Yes! The series will be released with all the episodes worldwide.

When is the release date?

Season 3 of Travelers will be released worldwide on December 14th!

Is there a trailer?

Not long to go now till the release of season 3! Finally, Netflix has released a trailer for the latest season of Travelers .

Will there be a season 4?

This is no longer in the hands of Showcase as Netflix took over the production and distribution of the show. Considering the growing popularity of Travelers we could expect a fourth season to follow. However, this will depend on the reception season 3 receives.

Are you excited for Season 3 of Travelers ? Let us know in the comments below!

Travelers Season 3: The History of a Historian

Reilly Dolman, who plays Philip the historian with the flawless memory in Netflix’s Travelers, talks about his character and career.

The following interview is spoiler-free for Travelers season 3.

With the return of Travelers season 3 on December 14, Netflix quietly continues one of the smartest science fiction series on television, and part of the show’s brilliance lies in its understated references to a devastated future from which the travelers of the show’s title originate. Only glimpses are shared, for example, of how Philip Pearson, the historian of the team that’s trying to correct history, is able to remember every minute detail about the 21st century. Reilly Dolman, who portrays Philip on the show, spoke about the subtleties of his character and the path of his career that led him to Travelers .

Sharp-eyed viewers may have noticed that Dolman and a few other actors from Travelers , like Patrick Gilmore (David) and Jennifer Spence (Grace), were also in one of executive producer Brad Wright’s earlier sci-fi efforts, Stargate Universe , but Dolman is not entirely sure that gave him an advantage in being cast as Philip. “I don’t think Brad knew who I was when I auditioned again; I could be wrong,” Dolman laughs. “I’m half-kidding, but I don’t actually know if we ever spoke about that. But when I worked on Stargate , I don’t think I ever actually met Brad in person. It was just kind of a different process, and we never met.”

After enjoying two seasons of Travelers , fans may see Dolman as the perfect embodiment of Philip, but the actor didn’t see it at first. “Honestly when I saw [the role], I called my agent, and I said, ‘Are you sure I’m going for the right character here?’ Previous to that, there’s a type of role that I was sort of pigeon-holed for at times, so I was a little bit confused,” he says. “When I read all the breakdowns, I kind of thought I should be going for Trevor, and previous to that audition, maybe a few months before, I would have. But no, that was who I was brought in for. So it was very exciting because it was different; I got to flex a different muscle.”

Although Dolman says he always wanted to be a part of the entertainment industry, he wasn’t sure how to go about it until a successful high school work experience with a director of photography found him enjoying behind-the-scenes work. “It felt good; it felt like that was the realm that I belonged to,” he says. “But it wasn’t quite enough for me, personally. And I had a friend who was taking acting classes, and I thought with my aspirations of directing, I thought I should see what it’s like from the perspective of an actor. If I’m going to direct people and give them my opinions, I should see how they’re going to view me.”

His path to acting wasn’t necessarily a smooth one, but in the past decade, he has made it his career. “It wasn’t easy, and that’s what I liked about it. It was tough, and I wasn’t getting it at first,” Dolman admits. “There was a huge learning curve for me at the beginning — not that there still isn’t; there always will be. But at the beginning it was a lot steeper than it feels anyway right now. And I just kind of fell in love with it… I don’t want to say I fell into it; that’s a little cliche, but I worked hard to feel like there was a potential for me in that route.”

The “different muscle” that Dolman got to flex in playing Philip involved a very realistic portrayal of a character struggling with a heroin addiction, which has been a key part of his arc in Travelers . “My goal with the portrayal is to accurately depict what people go through in real life and not to over-embellish it or glamorize it or anything because it’s a real problem, addiction,” says Dolman. “And with that, it comes with a lot of other problems with depression, and a lot of mental health issues can be associated with that as well. Through my life I’ve struggled with those issues myself a little bit, and it was important to fulfill an honest space for him. So I think it’s something that will never fully be fixed, per se… It will always be a devil on his shoulder.”

travellers season 3

Another key aspect of Philip’s unique position as the traveler team’s historian is how alienating his foreknowledge can be. “Everybody has somebody; Philip really doesn’t,” Dolman explains. “Even Ray isn’t much of anything; he’s a friend-ish, but not the same way that some of the other relationships are. Once Jenny comes in, obviously there’s a bit of a vulnerability. You let somebody in, and the fact that he has really no one, the way that the writers portrayed that aesthetically was really leaving him feeling lonely. He’s really alone, and honestly it just digs the hole deeper. The loneliness only gets more lonely.”

That being said, Philip is far from a dour character, and Travelers fans have found themselves charmed by the historian’s likability in, for example, caring for his pet turtle. He knows more than his fellow team members, but his expertise often becomes his anchor. “There is a well of optimism and positivity there, which is constantly being challenged through addiction, mental health, and the lack of relationship,” says Dolman. “And that’s something that I think is important: the idea of hope and looking forward to a better day.”

Further Reading: Travelers: Not Just Another Time Travel Show

Part of Philip’s renewed confidence comes from the brilliantly depicted “upgrade” he received last season after history had changed enough to be at odds with his outdated set of memories. “That was really fun to be able to go through and to experience because I guess prior to that, there was a sense of uselessness,” Dolman says. “He’s becoming obsolete with respect to their missions and what they’re doing. If he can’t recall certain facts and information, what use does he have? That update was helpful in feeling like he was worth something again, even though he was never not.”

Fans of Travelers will almost certainly agree that Philip Pearson is a key aspect of their enjoyment of the show, but they won’t see Dolman joining in a live tweet anytime soon. “I’m just a private person. A lot of the people I look up to in the industry don’t have much of a presence, and they’re more focused on the work,” explains Dolman. “For me, it’s important that when someone watches what I do, in the future or in the past, I want them to be able to experience that character without preconceived ideas of who I am as a person. There’s that saying, ‘Never meet your heroes.’ There’s something to that.”

Philip may be a technology expert from the future, but chances are the loner character would applaud Dolman’s choice to stay off the grid. The historian’s journey continues when all episodes of Travelers season 3 become available on Netflix on December 14, 2018. Travelers Season 3 Netflix

Season 3 of “ Travelers ,” the time-traveling sci-fi series starring Eric McCormack , will premiere exclusively on Netflix worldwide Dec. 14.

In the series, McCormack (NBC’s “Will & Grace”) plays an FBI agent who leads a team of “travelers” — specially trained operatives who jump back in time from hundreds of years in the future to the 21st century to help prevent the collapse of civilization.

The first two seasons of “Travelers” aired on Corus Entertainment’s Showcase pay-TV channel in Canada and became available on Netflix outside of Canada starting in 2016. Netflix ordered the third season earlier this year .

In season three, special agent Grant MacLaren (McCormack) and the Travelers are pushed to the limit as they deal with loyalty, trust, death — and the ever-growing power of artificial intelligence in the form the Director, the AI-powered entity that dictates their missions. With their existence now leaked to the world, the team must continue to work under the watchful eye of the FBI. Each team member will face their own personal breaking point, all while trying to stop the Faction (which is trying to take down the Director) and hunt down the elusive rogue agent Traveler 001.

In addition to McCormack, season 3 stars MacKenzie Porter, Nesta Cooper, Jared Abrahamson, Reilly Dolman and Patrick Gilmore.

Popular on Variety

“Travelers” is produced in Canada by Toronto-based Peacock Alley Entertainment in association with Netflix. The series is written, created and executive produced by Brad Wright, with John G. Lenic and Carrie Mudd also serving as executive producers. McCormack, in addition to starring, also is a producer and directed the premiere episode.

Review: 'Travelers' Season 3 (and That Ending, Explained)

By Dustin Rowles | TV | December 21, 2018 |

Travelers is such a fascinating series for the way it lives on the periphery of Netflix. It’s one of the streaming network’s most binged series , but it’s also one of the least talked about. The first two seasons were co-produced by Netflix and Canada’s Showcase, and while I have no idea how well the show performed in Canada, clearly it performs well enough on Netflix that the streaming service decided to take it on solo. That’s actually great news for the future of the series, because Netflix decidedly favors originals they produce themselves (rather than those by outside studios, like the Marvel series), and with very little global star power (Eric McCormick is the series’ only well-known star in America) and what looks like relatively inexpensive production values, this show could theoretically run for years.

That’s only valuable, however, if the show continues to be good television, and this third season is arguably its best. It reminds me so much of the Tennant years on Doctor Who for the way it plays with time and other sci-fi tropes, but it never loses sight of the characters and their humanity. The stakes grow exponentially in season three, but the focus remains grounded — nuclear bombs go off in major cities, but our hearts are still with characters like David Mailer, the Rose Tyler of Travelers — a constant reminder of why the Travelers continue to pursue their agenda. They want to save the planet for people like David.

What was so fun about the first season of Travelers was witnessing characters from the post-apocalyptic future take over 21st-century host bodies and try to acclimate themselves not only to the present but in families with which they had little knowledge. It was fish-out-of-water sci-fi: These characters who had spent their lives drinking recycled water and chemically-engineered food got to taste real hamburgers for the first time, but they also had to maintain their covers by learning how to be husbands and wives and sons and girlfriends to people they didn’t know, all the while completing missions designed to save the future of the planet.

The second season, admittedly, lost its way a little, but it found the track again in the third, even as it dug deeper into the mythology of the series. The biggest threat to the Travelers in the third season is the Faction, another set of Travelers who reject the goals of the Director, who is basically an AI computer that devises missions based on algorithms and percentages. The Director believes that if it stops this and this and this from happening in the past, that the future will become a better place. The Faction, however, is made up of Travelers who have come from a future where they have realized that nothing that the Travelers have accomplished has managed to change anything. It’s futile. So, while our sympathies obviously lie with the Travelers, it’s fair to note, at least, that the Faction has a point. The Travelers program has not worked because, as David notes, the only way to save the planet for the future is to convince those in the present to takes steps to preserve it for future generations instead of trying to do it for them.

There’s a lot of infighting among the Travelers and the Faction in the third season — and several present-day authorities who are now aware of the Travelers’ work, including Joanne Yates (Kimberly Sustad), an FBI Agent who also acts as Grant’s partner/handler. I won’t go so far as to say that all the infighting is “noise,” but it’s also not what season three is really about. The focus remains on the characters. The marriage of Grant MacLaren (Eric McCormack) and Kathryn (Leah Cairns) is still on the rocks because Kathryn suspects that Grant is not who he says he is (he’s not). Trevor (Jared Abrahamson) is a very old man living inside a very young body, but he’s having to deal with the mortality of his soul. Carly Shannon (Nesta Cooper) is still dealing with her abusive ex-husband, but that takes an unexpected twist several episodes into season three, leaving her with a new set of circumstances with which to grapple. The drug dependency of Phillip’s host body also wreaks havoc on Phillip, who also has to contend with visions of other timelines.

This season is wise, however, to keep much of the focus on the heart and soul of Travelers , Marcy (MacKenzie Porter) and David (Patrick Gilmore), the latter of whom tries to pick up some super-spy kills after his abduction last year, which eventually leads him into the middle of a mission. I won’t spoil anything except to say that episodes 7-10 reminded me so much of the best episodes of the 10th Doctor and Rose — the love the two have for each other takes center stage even as the world (literally) blows up around them.

Ultimately, some of the sci-fi logistics of The Travelers stumble near the end of the season as things go to hell, but creator Brad Wright papers over those problems with some truly heartfelt moments that keeps the series firmly focused on the humanity of these characters.

And what about that ending? Oh boy.

OK, so, well: Yes. That ending. Like Doctor Who , it was also very Deus ex Moffat — Grant undoes the entire series with a single email. David’s dead, Marcy’s dead, Grant’s wife has left him, Trevor’s about to die, nuclear bombs have gone off in four cities, and everything has gone to complete hell. So, Phillip (Reilly Dolman) devises a plan to send Grant back to Grant’s body years before the Traveler program has even begun, and from the past, Grant sends an email to the Director in the distant future essentially telling him that the Travelers program doesn’t work and to abort it. The Director does so, which means that nothing that happened in the first three seasons ever happened. The timeline has been completely erased, although we clearly see glimpses of the new timeline in Phillip’s visions of alt-timelines (and one of those timelines sees Marcy and David marry!).

The Director, however, does reboot the Travelers Program, Version 2, which means that if the series returns for a season four — and I suspect it will — it can do so with the same characters, or a completely different cast, or a combination of the two (Eric McCormick, who is doing 18 episodes of Will & Grace a year, doesn’t need to do this anymore, and I can imagine a fourth season in which Joanne Yates is the team leader).

It’s a complete reset — the Director is basically doing what Ted Danson does on The Good Place when things go awry — he just starts all over again from the beginning. In some ways, it gives the show the freedom to do anything it wants in season 4. In other ways, it renders it all meaningless, because to the Director, it’s all basically a computer simulation and he can keep trying until he finally gets it right. That would be a lot more frustrating, however, if the show weren’t so good about getting the characters right.

And as for that David and Marcy tag at the end? That at least shows, if season four were to return, that Marcy and David hopefully meet again in Version 2.0. (As some commenters have pointed out, that could be either Host Marcy or Original Marcy, although it being Original Marcy would be slightly upsetting, if only because it illustrates that David was interested in the body instead of the person inside). So, in The Good Place parlance, Marcy and David are the Chidi and Eleanor of The Travelers : Destined to be together no matter what, and as long as they continue as characters on The Travelers , this show can count me in as a viewer.

‘Travelers’ Fans Are Seriously Demanding More Of The Sci-Fi Series

travellers season 3

When you can marathon a new show in one weekend, it doesn't take long for the conversation to turn from dissecting the latest season to counting down the days until its return. Such is the case with Netflix's Travelers , which only rolled out its second season Dec. 26. But will Travelers return for Season 3 ?

So far, Netflix hasn't made an official call as to whether or not the series will be renewed. However, the first season debuted around the same time last year, and it had been greenlit for Season 2 by early February, so a potential Season 3 announcement shouldn't be much longer of a wait. Also based on that timeline, if Travelers does receive a third go-round, it will likely once again arrive in late December.

That's ideal for the sleeper sci-fi series, which was just recently named among Netflix's top 10 most marathoned shows . People often have time off between the TV-light stretch from Christmas to New Years, which makes for optimum back-to-back viewing. And Travelers ' high-intensity, futuristic plot is a fun way to cozy up on the couch, hide out from the winter cold, and take a short break from reality before diving back into the responsibilities of work or school.

For now, there's no guarantee that fans will have more Travelers to zone out with next year, but there are plenty of reasons to bring it back for Season 3. So, Netflix, take heed.

1. Fans Are Already Eager For More

Because Travelers is co-produced by the Canadian network Showcase, it airs on the channel several weeks before it hits Netflix. That means some viewers have already had a chance to get through all 12 episodes of Season 2 (as well as a few really eager international watchers). If their Twitter reactions are any indication, the demand for Season 3 is high.

2. There's More Story To Tell

travellers season 3

No spoilers here, but from the sounds of it, Travelers Season 2 ends with an explosive finale that leaves the door wide open for more story. And luckily, showrunner Brad Wright already has several ideas in mind about where things will pick up. As he told Televixen :

I think Season 2 is a really good season and surpasses Season 1 and I want to keep that momentum. The theme of Season 3 is AI. There’s a lot of discussion of free will and AI and all of those things that we teed up in Season 2. We have an arc that introduces a new character, a woman, who is going to be a challenge to [ Travelers team leader Grant] MacLaren. I want to give him a foil. We’re going to dial up the temperature a little more.

3. It's Good For Growth

As noted by Forbes ' contributor Merrill Barr, shows like Travelers are critical to the company's growth because they allow international creators to share their stories on a global scale, in turn driving subscribers in largely untapped territories. In other words, Barr writes, it "allows the company to say we don’t just make things we come up with. We also help the ones near you already doing it.'"

4. The Show Is Only Getting Bigger

travellers season 3

While Season 1 wowed with its elaborate, time-hopping premise, Season 2 only takes things further. Hanh Nguyen writes in her Season 2 review for IndieWire that the Travelers are now faced with "newer, more complex emotions," while Barr raves for Forbes :

The relationships are getting deeper. The conspiracies are growing wider. The tiny team we started with is not so tiny anymore ... The show has truly come into its own and is only a few major plot turns away from going down as must-see genre TV. In fact, it’s not too far away from just being straight up must-see TV in general.

Travelers may not be the buzziest show on Netflix, but it's getting there, and it deserves to have the chance to explore its budding potential. Stay tuned for whether Netflix feels the same.

Travelers: Season 3 Reviews

travellers season 3

Travelers tactfully conveys its deeper message about the present and future. What we do and don't do now will affect the world in years to come, and we can't expect people from the future to save us.

Full Review | Apr 6, 2023

Season three ofTravelersis a win for sci-fi fans and fans of the series. Unlike other shows, this season wraps up or cuts all of the loose ends of the story.

Full Review | Original Score: 10/10 | Feb 27, 2019

What we get this year from the show is the best example of what a television series should be. It's not a 13-episode movie. It's not long-form literature. It's a TV show. A TV show with chapters that begin and end within their run time.

Travelers season three trailer drops

Travelers season three’s ending is a mind-bending reboot of the Netflix series that even the biggest fans may need explained. Grant MacLaren (played by Eric McCormack) gets sent further back in time than the original Travelers program for another go at his mission to stop the destruction of humanity. Netflix may now be bringing Travelers to an end, as it has not yet confirmed whether the series will be back for another season.

MacLaren then waited to see if 001 would arrive and the series ended with him waiting for the planes to arrive.

We then see a computer screen that reads: “TRAV PROGRAM VER ONE. Status: FAIL

“RESET. LOAD SEQ: TRAV PROGRAM: VER TWO…...BEGIN.”

This means season four, if it gets renewed, will see a whole new Travelers program take effect, potentially meaning MacLaren is joined by a whole new crew.

This is a reference to Helios-685, the asteroid the Travelers originally believed caused the destruction of humanity.

Burns was meant to die as a result of this asteroid, so if she can work out MacLaren’s message she should be able to save herself.

The ending of Travelers also sees fan favourites Marcy Warton and David Mailer (Patrick Gilmore) meet on a bus.

As 001 never arrived at the 21st century in this timeline, he was not there to help cause Marcy’s brain damage, giving the couple a happy ending that will please many Travelers fans.

Savvy Travelers Seek 'Dupes' To Beat the Crowds at Popular Destinations

  • Chantelle Kincy
  • Aug 21, 2024
  • Aug 21, 2024 Updated Aug 21, 2024

Imagine strolling through serene streets, enjoying breathtaking views, and savoring local delicacies — all without the hustle and bustle of crowded tourist hotspots. This dream is becoming a reality for savvy travelers turning to lesser-known "dupe" destinations.

A recent study in the American Express Travel Global Travel Trends Report shows 89% of travelers crave new and unique experiences, leading them to uncover hidden gems that match the beauty and excitement of popular spots minus the overwhelming crowds and high costs.

Our Favorite Dupe Travel Destinations

Instead of Paris, with its bustling streets and long lines at the Eiffel Tower, travelers find solace in the serene beauty of Lyon. Known for its exquisite cuisine and vibrant cultural scene, Lyon offers a more relaxed pace while still delivering the quintessential French experience.

Frequent traveler Alicia Richards bypassed Paris, sharing, "I love France, but the crowds in the summer made our family choose Belgium instead. It has similar landscapes and amazing cities, just far less touristy."

Reykjavik is emerging as a viable Copenhagen alternative. While both cities offer Nordic charm, Reykjavik’s otherworldly landscapes, geothermal springs, and Northern Lights sightings stand out. It's a dream destination for those seeking both urban and natural wonders.

Fans of the Amalfi Coast are discovering Puglia's unspoiled coastline. This southern Italian region boasts stunning beaches, historic towns, and a rich culinary heritage without the Amalfi Coast’s peak season tourist crowds.

The ancient city of Kanazawa challenges Kyoto, Japan’s historical allure. The Ishikawa Prefecture capital offers well-preserved samurai and geisha districts, beautiful gardens, and traditional crafts while maintaining a more laid-back atmosphere than tourist-heavy Kyoto.

Tourists in South America replace the bustling streets of Rio de Janeiro with the equally vibrant yet less crowded city of Salvador. Known for its colonial architecture and stunning coastal views, Salvador provides a rich cultural experience at a fraction of the cost.

Adventure seekers, usually drawn to the rugged landscapes of New Zealand's South Island, set their sights on Tasmania, Australia. Tasmania's wild terrain varies from pristine beaches to dense rainforests and offers ample opportunities for hiking, wildlife spotting, and exploring geological formations.

Similarly, the Swiss Alps have a worthy counterpart in the Julian Alps of Slovenia. This lesser-known region provides stunning mountain vistas, excellent skiing, and charming alpine villages without the Swiss Alps' high prices and crowds. Next month, I'll explore the Julian Alps for two weeks. By booking Slovenia over Switzerland, I can take a trip nearly three times longer for the same price.

Other Dupes Worth Considering

Instead of Sydney's Blue Mountains, consider Adelaide Hills. This charming wine region is only a three-hour flight from Sydney and promises unique charm, delicious food and wine, and incredible scenery.

Intimidated by Istanbul? Try Bodrum instead. While Istanbul is one of my favorite cities, it can be overwhelming and chaotic for a casual traveler. Bodrum offers similar experiences on a smaller scale.

Often referred to as "Little Istanbul," this charming city of 50,000 boasts bustling bazaars, fresh seafood, a lively nightlife, and stunning beaches along the sparkling blue Aegean Sea.

The U.S. Virgin Islands are gorgeous and easily accessed but can have a hefty price tag. Those seeking an affordable beach vacation will fall in love with St. Kitts and Nevis, a two-island nation known for its sparkling seas, friendly locals, and history that elevates any sun-soaked getaway.

St. Kitts is busier and more developed, while Nevis’ appeal is its lush nature and laid-back vibe. Both islands are perfect for "limin'," the local term for sipping tropical rum concoctions and hanging out.

Domestic dupes can help those hoping to stay close to home. With its striking red rock landscapes and vibrant art scene, Sedona has long been a favorite vacation spot in the American Southwest.

Santa Fe, New Mexico, is just a state away and uniquely blends culture, history, and natural beauty.

Nestled at the foot of the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Santa Fe offers a wealth of experiences for those seeking inspiration and adventure.

Visiting Popular Locations Off-Season: Another Way To Beat the Crowds

Daria Bachmann of Explore Baja California offers her strategy for avoiding crowds. "I love Europe in summer, but many popular destinations in the Mediterranean are crowded and expensive during this time of the year, so I decided to visit Costa Rica in June, which is part of the 'green season.' Although it can rain, the precipitation is usually sporadic and happens in the afternoon. Since June is the beginning of the low season in Costa Rica, you can get great deals on tours, hotels, and car rentals."

I recently returned from a visit to Scotland and Yorkshire in the United Kingdom during the off-season. While it did rain a few days during my trip, my premium accommodations, popular tours, and airfare cost $600 less than they would during the busy season.

Travel Dupes Relieve Overtourism Pressures

Aside from helping travelers' budgets, exploring new travel destinations can help relieve congestion and overtourism in places now too popular for their own good.

Many once charming places, such as Santorini or Venice, and even U.S. national parks like Glacier and Yellowstone, feel the effects of overtourism, placing limits on tourists and issuing fees.

Smaller Greek Isles such as Naxos offer excellent opportunities to explore Greece without the packed streets of Santorini, whereas Treviso is a superb dupe for Venice.

For National Parks, I recommend lesser-visited parks such as Kobuck Valley to witness the incredible Caribou migration , or North Cascades — my favorite — for jaw-dropping mountain views and the most glaciers in the continental U.S.

As the world becomes more accessible, the desire for unique and less crowded travel experiences grows. These "dupe" destinations provide respite from the typical tourist traps and offer a chance to discover new cultures, cuisines, and landscapes. The rewards are plentiful and unforgettable for travelers willing to venture off the well-worn path.

With alternative destinations like these, the thrill of discovery is just a flight away, proving that sometimes, the best adventures lie in the unexpected.
