Drei Konzerte in Deutschland im Sommer 2016 stehen fest und der Ticketvorverkauf startet am 25. November 2015.

Ein Jahr nach GHOST STORIES erscheint am 4. Dezember 2015 das neue und vielleicht letzte Album von Coldplay , A HEAD FULL OF DREAMS. Bereits bei der Veröffentlichung von GHOST STORIES hatte es nach einem BBC-Interview 2014 Gerüchte um das Aus der britischen Band gegeben. Ob es sich damals und auch diesmal einfach um Fakten oder doch eher eine PR-Aktion handelt, sei mal dahin gestellt.

Auf ihrem neuen Album A HEAD FULL OF DREAMS haben die Briten zahlreiche Gastsänger wie Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher , Tove Lo und Merry Clayton um sich versammelt. Auch Martins Ex-Frau Gwyneth Paltrow wird auf der neuen Platte zu hören sein.

Der bereits veröffentlichte Song „Adventures Of A Lifetime“ ist eine optimistische Up-Tempo-Nummer und könnte zum Hit werden.

Jipeih!! Endlich hat das „arten ein Ende. Am 4. Dezember erscheint das neue Album der britischen Erfolgsband Coldplay! Es trägt den Namen „A Head Full of Dreams“ . Mit einer kryptischen Plakat-Werbeaktion, einer bunten schillernden Lebensblume in London, hatten Coldplay Schatten in die Zukunft geworfen bezüglich ihres neuen Albums. Aber auch ganz andere Schatten. In mehreren Interviews ließ Chris Martin verlauten, dass dies die letzte Platte der Band sein könnte. Man wolle sich langsam anderem zuwenden. Aber umso mehr genießen sie die gemeinsame Zeit, wollen das es perfekt wird und sehr persönlich. Wir dürfen also gespannt sein. Auch weil es zu dem Album eine Tour 2016 geben soll – und auch so etwas wie die letzte – the final chapter… Genaue Termine hat die Band noch nicht bestätigt. Sobald wir mehr wissen erfahrt ihr es natürlich hier, denn das wird eine ganz besondere Tour für eine ganz besondere Band. Coldplay eben.

Coldplay Konzerte 2014 – neues Album „Ghost Stories“

05.11.2014: Noch in diesem Jahr werden Coldplay zu Gast in Deutschland sein. Im Rahmen einer kleinen Release-Tour werden Coldpaly am 06.12.2014 in München in der BMW Welt zum Konzert laden. Die Coldplay Tickets für das letzte Deutschland Konzert in diesem Jahr geehn ab dem 07.11 2014 in den Verkauf. Ob eine große Tour 2015 geplant ist, bleibt aktuell noch offen.

18.04.2014: Seit gestern ist es raus – Coldplay werden noch 2014 Live Konzerte geben. Sechs Konzerttermine haben Coldplay angekündigt, um ihr neues Album Ghost Stories vor zustellen, welches ab Mai in den Läden stehen wird. Auch in Deutschland wird Coldplay ein Konzert zum Album Release geben – dieses wird bereits am 25. April 2014 (das ist kommende Woche!) in Köln im E-Werk stattfinden. Die Tickets für diese exklusive Coldplay Show werden am Samstag, 19.04.2014 in den Verkauf gehen!

05.03.2014: In gut zwei Monaten ist es soweit, dann erscheint eines der wohl am sehnsüchtigsten erwarteten Alben dieses Jahres: Coldplay sind derzeit noch an den letzten Zügen für 2014er Album „Ghost Stories“ welches ab dem 16. Mai 2014 in den Läden stehen soll. Ob mit dem neuen Album auch eine neue Coldplay Tour folgt, ist derzeit noch nicht bestätigt.

In Knapp zwei Monaten ist es also soweit, dann soll der Nachfolger vom Platin veredeltem 2011er Album Mylo Xyloto in die Läden kommen. Das neue Coldplay Album 2014 trägt den Namen GHOST STORIES und kann bereits jetzt schon bei Itunes vorbestellt werden. Die erste Single sowie die komplette Tracklist des kommenden Albums sind zudem auch schon bekannt.

Seit 03.03.2014 ist die erste Single MAGIC aus dem GHOST STORIES Album zu haben. Kostenlos bekommt jeder den ersten offiziellen Track vom Album zum Download, wer sich bei Itunes das Album schon heute vorbestellt. Wer rein hören will, findet hier das Audio-Video zum Track mit Cover zur Single.

In Musikerkreisen ist es nicht ganz unüblich, wenn man ein neues Album herausbringt, anschließend mit diesem dann auch auf Tour zu gehen. Zu einer möglichen Tour gibt es zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt keine Informationen. Eventuelle Tourpläne von Coldplay werden wenn dann auch Zeitnah bekannt gegeben. Gut möglich, dass die Band um Chris Martin ab Herbst mit einer Tour starten wird und hoffentlich bis zum Frühjahr 2015 dann auch live in Deutschland Konzerte geben wird.

Am 06. Dezember ist es soweit, dann lädt Coldplay zu einem exklusiven und intimen Konzert in die BMW Welt nach München. In dem gläsernem Saal werden Coldplay ihr aktuelles Album GHOST STORIES inkl. Kurzfilm dem Publikum live präsentieren.

Die Gesamtanzahl der Tickets für das Coldplay Konzert in München ist aufgrund der Räumlichkeit stark beschränkt. Mit Sicherheit wird dieses exklusive Konzert ausverkauft sein. Am Freitag, den 09.11.2014 wird der Vorverkauf gegen 9 Uhr starten. Viel Zeit zum zögern bleibt da nicht.

Anlässlich des Album Releases geben Coldplay sechs recht exklusive und kleine Konzerte, um einen verhältnismäßig kleinem Publikum die neue Scheibe live zu offenbaren. Auch in Deutschland wird eine dieser exklusiven Auftritte stattfinden. Am 25. April kommen Coldplay nach Köln in das E-Werk! Neben Köln, wird Coldplay auch jeweils eine Show in Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Tokio und London geben.

Hoffen wir weiterhin, dass Coldplay nach Veröffentlichung ihres Albums im Mai 2014 noch weitere Konzerte geben wird und ggf. Für den Herbst 2014, Frühjahr 2015 eine richtige Tour ansetzten. Warten wir es ab!

Coldplay Album 2011: MYLO XYLOTO

12.08.2011Es ist wieder an der Zeit allen Coldplay Fans eine fantastsische Nachricht zu übermitteln: Es ist schon 3 Jahre wieder her, dass Coldplay mit ihrem Album „Viva La Vida“ (2008) die Charts stürmten und die Herzen ihrer Fans eroberten. Im Oktober 2011 ist es nun endlich soweit, dass neue Coldplay Album 2011 wird am 21.10.2011 (laut EMI, laut www.coldplay.com am 24.10.2011) veröffentlicht!. Das neue Coldplay Album trägt den künstlerischen Namen „Mylo Xyloto“ (Kurz: MX). Die erste Single aus dem Colplay Album „Mylo Xyloto“ „Every Teardrop is a Waterfall“ wurde bereits veröffentlicht. Am 09.09.2011 folgt die 2. Single „Paradise“.

Das neue Coldplay Album wird den Fans als CD, in Digital,als Vinyl und als eine Limited Edition Pop-Up Album angeboten. Das Cover (siehe Bild oben, wurde am 12. August um 11.45 auf www.coldplay.com vorgestellt) ist ein ARTWORK-Cover. Geplant ist, dass die Hälfte der Album-CD-Auflage im voll farbigen Artwork verpackt sein wird, die andere Hälfte der Colplay Album Covers werden ein gespiegeltes CD-Booklet haben, der mit einem Pappschuber in Silber versehen ist, in dem die Initialen „MX“ gestanzt sind.

Coldplay feat Rihanna PRINCESS OF CHINA

Coldplay + Rihanna = ein Duett mit Erfolgsgarantie

Welche Schönheit räkelt sich denn da im neuen Video von Coldplay ? Es ist keine geringere als R&B-Sängerin- und mehrfache Grammygewinnerin Rihanna ! Frontman Chris Martin gab sogar zu, den Song „Princess of China“ , vom aktuellen Album „Mylo Xyloto“, extra für die Zusammenarbeit mit der 24-Jährigen geschrieben zu haben.

Und das das die richtige Entscheidung war, zeigt sich sowohl am Song selbst, der mit einer Mischung aus R&B, Hip Hop und Synthie-Pop auf jeden Fall ohrwurm-fähig ist, als auch am beeindruckenden Musikvideo dazu. Darin sieht man Rihanna als chinesische Prinzessin , die den Zuschauer mit extra langen, goldenen Fingernägeln, Hochsteckfrisur inklusive chinesischer Stäbchen und sexy Kimono ganz schön ins Schwitzen bringt. Das Video spielt hauptsächlich in einem chinesischen Tempel, in dem, neben Rihanna, noch weitere asiatische Schönheiten tanzen und Chris Martin sich einen Schwert-Kampf mit einem Samurai liefert.

Dazwischen sind Sequenzen zu sehen, in denen sich der Frontman und die 24-Jährige in einer Art Gebirgswüste, ganz nah beieinander, tief in die Augen blicken. Dabei wirkt das alles so authentisch, dass man als Coldplay-Fan fast vergisst, dass „ Princess of China“ das erste Duett ist, das die Band je produziert hat. Und weil das bei dieser vierten Single-Auskopplung so schön geklappt hat, dürfen wir uns in Zukunft hoffentlich auf weitere kreative Zusammenarbeiten von Coldplay mit weiteren Größen der Musikgeschichte freuen!

Freudige Nachricht für all die, die keine Zeit haben, keine Karte bekommen oder kein Geld hatten, um bei einem der Coldplay Konzerte 2011 dabei zu sein: Coldplay gehen 2012 wieder auf Tour und machen nicht nur Deutschland unsicher. Für dieses Jahr haben sich die Jungs von Coldplay großes vorgenommen und wollen die ganze Welt bereisen. Ihr 2011er Album „Mylo Xyloto“ schlug eine wie eine Bombe und hat international überwältigende Resonanz eingeheimst, sodass Chris Martin & Kollegen in denn kommenden Monaten eine riesige Coldplay Tour vor sich haben.

Seit April stehen Coldplay fast ununterbrochen auf den Bühnen. Zuerst stehen Konzerte in Kanada und den USA auf dem Coldplay Tourplan , gefolgt von Konzerten im Mai 2012 in Portugal, Frankreich, Italien und der Schweiz. Ab Juni wird die Coldplay für 6 Konzerte in der Heimat UK verweilen. Ende Juni bis Mitte August zieht es Coldplay dann wieder für Konzerte über den „großen Teich“ nach Kanada und den USA, bevor sie ab Ende August bis Ende September in Europa unterwegs sind.

Coldplay Tour 2011 „Mylo Xyloto „

Die britische Pop-Rock- Band Coldplay um Frontmann Chris Martin stürmten 2008 mit ihrem Album „Viva la Vida“ die Charts. Seit ihrer letzten Coldplay Tour sind nun schon einige Jahre vergangen, doch für 2011 hat die Band nicht nur ein neues Album, sondern auch ihr Konzert- Comeback angekündigt. Die Coldplay Tour 2011 sieht 3 Konzerte in Deutschland vor.

Im Dezember 2011 werden Coldplay mit ihrem neuen Album „Mylo Xyloto“ drei Konzerte in Deutschland  auf Ihrer Coldplay Tour geben. Die Coldplay Konzerte 2011 werden in Köln, Frankfurt und Berlin stattfinden. Der offizielle Ticketvorverkauf  für die Coldplay Tour startet am 23. September 2011.

Im Juni trat Coldplay in Nürnberg bei Rock am Ring (Nürburgring) und Rock im Park (Zeppelinfeld) auf. Außerhalb Deutschlands war Coldplay auf dem Heineken Jammin’ Festival in Venedig und dem Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf (Niederlande) dabei. Beide Festivals fanden ebenfalls Anfang Juni statt.

Anfang Juli ging es dann mit Auftritten auf den Festivals Rock Werchester (Belgien), Main Square Festival (Arras, Frankreich), Optiumus Festival Lissabon und Bilbao BBK Live Festival weiter.

Coldplay kommt mit ihrer “a head full of dreams tour“ am 29. juni 2016 ins olympiastadion berlin.

Es ist die erste Welttour der Kult-Band Coldplay seit der Mylo Xyloto Tour in 2011/2012, die von mehr als drei Millionen Fans auf fünf Kontinenten besucht wurde. Die Band spielt ihre ersten Lateinamerika-Konzerte seit 2010 und tritt erstmals auch in Peru auf.

A Head Full Of Dreams, das am 4. Dezember veröffentlicht wird, ist der pulsierende Nachfolger zu dem zerbrechlichen Herzschmerz-Album ‚Ghost Stories‘, dem sechstem internationalen Nr. 1-Album von Coldplay in Folge. Coldplay: Die Erfolgsgeschichte der Band

Die Rock-Pop-Band Coldplay besteht aus den vier Mitgliedern Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion und Guy Berryman. Mit weltweit knapp 80 Millionen verkauften Tonträgern zählt Coldplay zu den international erfolgreichsten Bands des vergangenen Jahrzehnts. Kennengelernt haben sich die vier Bandmitglieder am University College London und 1996 die Band gegründet. Im Frühling 1999 unterschrieb Coldplay einen Fünf-Alben-Vertrag bei Parlophone .

Das erste Album Parachutes wurde auf Anhieb ein kommerzieller Erfolg und gewann 2001 den Grammy Award als „Best Alternative Music Album“. Insgesamt wurde das Album weltweit bis heute über neun Millionen Mal verkauft. In Großbritannien hielt es sich 33 Wochen lang in den Top Ten.

Das zweite Album A Rush of Blood to the Head aus dem Jahr 2002 war vielschichtiger – vermehrt nun auch mit Rock-Elementen – und intellektueller als das Debütalbum, was den Erfolg jedoch nicht verminderte – ganz im Gegenteil! Auch die Kritiker waren überzeugt. Das Album bekam gleich zwei Grammys in den Kategorien „Bestes Alternative-Album“ und „Best Song“ für In My Place .

Mit ihrem dritten Studioalbum X&Y knüpfte Coldplay weiter an den Erfolg ihrer ersten beiden Alben an. Mit 8,3 Millionen verkauften Platten wurde es zum weltweit meistverkauften Album des Jahres 2005. Mit ihrer ersten Singleauskopplung Speed of Sound landeten die Musiker einen weltweit großen Hit und gewannen den MTV Europe Music Award 2005 in der Kategorie „Best Song“.

Für das vierte Album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends wurde der Koproduzent Brian Eno eingesetzt, der die Band massiv unterstützte. Sämtliche Songs der Platte unterscheiden sich von den früheren Liedern der Band, so dass der Stil mit den vorherigen Alben kaum zu vergleichen ist. Das Album eroberte in zahlreichen Ländern Platz 1 der Charts und schaffte es mit der Single Viva la Vida erstmals auch in den Singles-Charts in Großbritannien und den USA bis ganz nach oben. Viva la Vida wurde als „bester Song“ und „beste Pop-Darbietung einer Gruppe“ ausgezeichnet, das Album wurde als „bestes Rockalbum“ preisgekrönt.

Am 16. November 2012 erschien ihr drittes Live-Album mit dem Titel Live 2012 das im Rahmen der Mylo Xyloto -Tour aufgenommen worden ist. Nebenher wurde der Live-Mitschnitt als DVD sowie Blu-Ray-Edition veröffentlicht. Das Album erreichte Platz 3 der deutschen Charts. Die Tour war mit eingespielten 130 Millionen Euro die dritterfolgreichste Tour im Jahre 2012. Am 16. Mai 2014 veröffentlichte Coldplay ihr sechstes Studio-Album mit dem Namen Ghost Stories . Der Song A Sky Full Of Stars entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit dem schwedischen House-DJ Avicii und enthält überwiegend Elemente der Dance-Musik. Das diesjährige Highlight für Coldplay war sicherlich der Auftritt beim 50. NFL Super Bowl am 7. Februar in der Halftime-Show. Eine große Ehre!

Coldplay A Head Full Of Dreams Tour 2016

A Head Full Of Dreams ist am 4. Dezember veröffentlicht worden und gilt als pulsierender Nachfolger zu dem zerbrechlichen Herzschmerz-Album Ghost Stories , Coldplays sechstem internationalen Nr.1-Album in Folge. Die Band entschied sich, mit Ghost Stories nicht auf Tour zu gehen, um im Studio direkt mit den Aufnahmen zu A Head Full Of Dreams beginnen zu können.

Im Studio staute sich jede Menge Energie auf und entfachte in uns das Verlangen, um die Welt zu reisen und Musik zu spielen. ‚A Head Full Of Dreams‘ wurde geschrieben, um live performt zu werden. Wir können es kaum abwarten. – Chris Martin

In einem weiteren Interview deutete Chris Martin an, dass A Head Full of Dreams Album das letzte der Band sein könnte.

Es ist unser siebtes Ding und wir sehen es in etwa wie das letzte Harry Potter Buch. Das heißt nicht, dass es nicht irgendwann wieder etwas geben wird, aber es ist eine Art Vervollständigung. […] Ich kann es mir nur als unser finales Ding vorstellen, ansonsten würden wir nicht alles für das Album geben. – Chris Martin

20 Stadionshows in 14 Ländern in Europa und Lateinamerika umfasst der erste Teil der A Head Full Of Dreams -Tour von Coldplay. Gelsenkirchen, Zürich, Berlin und Hamburg sind zwischen dem 1. Juni und 1. Juli 2016 die Stationen in Deutschland und der Schweiz. Es ist ihre erste Welttour seit der Mylo Xyloto -Tour 2011 und 2012, die von mehr als drei Millionen Fans auf fünf Kontinenten besucht wurde.

Auf ihrer kommenden Tour wollen Coldplay auf Wünsche aus dem Publikum eingehen, damit ihre Songs „einen Sinn haben.“

Mit ein bisschen Glück spielen Coldplay bald wieder gute Musik, denn: Coldplay-Sänger Chris Martin hat bekannt gegeben, dass die Band auf ihrer kommenden „A HEAD FULL OF DREAMS“-Tour Song-Wünsche aus dem Publikum entgegen nehmen wolle. In der Setlist habe man extra Raum gelassen, um vom Publikum eingereichte Lieder zu spielen.

In einem Interview erklärte Martin: „Was wir vor haben ist fast wie ein Wunsch-Segment. Die Leute sollen uns einen Grund nennen, warum wir einen bestimmten Song spielen sollen. Es soll auch einen Sinn haben, wenn wir ein gewünschtes Lied spielen.“

Coldplay :: A Head Full Of Dreams Wie das Einreichen genau funktionieren soll, hat sich Martin bereits überlegt: „Wir wollen das wie bei einem Foto-Automaten machen: Du gehst rein und sagst ‚Ich bin Derek und ich wünsche mir den Song „The Hardest Part“. Und wenn wir dann einen Song wie ‚Spies‘ oder ‚Parachutes‘ spielen, dann könnten wir sagen ‚Das ist für Helen aus Bolten, denn dieser Song erinnert sie an ihren Vater‘.“

Wer jetzt sein Glück versuchen und Coldplay-Songs wieder einen Sinn geben will: Coldplay kommen mit ihrem neuen und vielleicht letzten Album A HEAD FULL OF DREAMS im Sommer 2016 für drei Termine nach Deutschland. Außerdem treten sie im Februar 2016 in der Super-Bowl-Halbzeitshow auf.

Coldplay verkündet weitere Deutschlandkonzerte für die „ A Head Full of Dreams Tour“

Die Jungs hatten noch nicht genug und kommen im kommenden Juni zurück nach Deutschland.

Chris Martin , Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland und Will Champion sind in den vergangenen Monaten um den Globus gereist und haben ihre Fans weltweit beglückt. Nachdem sie im April in Lateinamerika auf der Bühne standen, ging es zu uns nach Europa und später in die USA, bevor sie im November nach Asien und später nach Neuseeland und Australien reisen.

Doch weil Coldplay so viel Spaß auf der Bühne hat und am 14. Dezember ihre Tour noch nicht ganz beenden will, kündigte die Band nun neue Daten für Europa an.

Ganze vier Mal werden die Jungs bei uns in Deutschland performen. So stehen sie unter anderem in München, Leipzig, Hannover und Frankfurt im Juni 2017 auf der Bühne.

1. Feel the Fan Love!

From tots to grannies, Coldplay has developed an intriguing core base by transforming otherwise casual music fans into Coldplay lifers. They’ve won over the hearts and minds of the everyman and -woman, and those fans played a key role in Coldplay’s send-off shows. Upon entering the arenas, concertgoers were gifted an LED wristband and a button that reads “Love.” A video kicked off each night, illustrating every country the band has visited so far on tour. Locals were shown waving flags and introducing Coldplay in their native languages. Each set also featured a “Fan Dedication Song,” previously requested via Instagram video clips, which appeared on the screen overhead. In New Jersey, Martin relayed another request himself : “This is for a woman who just yesterday gave her bone marrow to save her daughter,” the singer-guitarist explained. “That’s the most wonderful gesture of love I’ve ever heard.” Then, in Las Vegas, a young couple was invited onstage, where the guy delivered a beautiful tribute to his lady love and dropped to one knee to propose. Note the flashing LED bracelets as the crowd roars in approval. If you don’t cry, your eyes have problems.

2. Pyro, Lights & Stage Production Like Whoa

Each concert was drenched in lights, lasers, balloons and confetti, and — with the help of those flashing wristbands — the audience became an integral part of the visual show. The set would kick off with a massive barrage of explosions of blasting confetti that filled arenas like a DayGlo snow globe. Martin ran up and down a long runway or sprinted the steps and aisles of the arenas, touching his fans in the flesh. The band switched over three stages, playing different sets (electric, acoustic, requests on the A, B and C stages). Coldplay have always done the festive colorful thing quite well, and this was its apex. Just look at this:

3. James Corden Joins in a Prince Tribute

At Los Angeles’ Rose Bowl on Aug. 21 , the band invited out the Late Late Show host to honor Prince with a cover of “Nothing Compares 2 U,” strumming an acoustic rendition a la Sinead O’Connor ’s. First, Martin — who’d recently appeared on Carpool Karaoke — delivered a totally fictitious intro about Corden being Coldplay’s long-lost member: “We all thought [he] was the most talented member. But instead he chose to forge his own path… We know him as the guy who turned down being in a band with us.” Then out walks Corden, sporting A Head Full of Dreams T-shirt (hit that merch booth, fans). “So this is an idea that Chris said to me. He said, ‘I think you should come sing this at the Rose Bowl,’” Corden explained onstage. “I’ll be honest: I didn’t know how big [the venue] was when I said yes.” Corden nailed the yearning vocal. His birthday just happened to be the following day, and Coldplay also surprised him with a cake and sing-along of “Happy Birthday to You.”

4. Chris Martin Covers The Boss

When in Rome, right? Or, in this case, Philadelphia. During a stop in the Pennsylvania metropolis, Martin delivered a solo acoustic rendition of Bruce Springsteen ’s “Streets of Philadelphia,” the Oscar-winning ballad from 1993’s Tom Hanks-starring film about the AIDS crisis, Philadelphia . He used loop pedals to layer acoustic strums and riffs, and the audience hooted and hollered with each mention of its hometown.

5. Guest Spot From Michael J. Fox

Prepare to go Back to the Future . At MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Marty McFly — ahem, Michael J. Fox — joined Coldplay onstage at the behest of Martin’s 10-year-old son, Moses. First, the young Martin appeared onscreen during the fan-request segment, asking his dad play a tune from “our favorite movie.” Coldplay started with the doo-wop classic “Earth Angel,” and Fox walked onstage midway through to play a brief guitar solo. It looks like he’s struggling, but he’s actually replicating the moment in the movie when he’s disappearing into the sands of time. Then, of course, his parents seal the kiss at the Enchantment Under the Sea dance, and — boom! — McFly is back, just as he was with Coldplay. Next, the fivesome ripped into rock’n’roll classic “Johnny B. Goode” and the space-time continuum was in harmony.

6. A Tribute to the Killers

During his solo acoustic segment in Las Vegas, Martin nodded to the hometown heroes with a startlingly gorgeous version of their Hot Fuss hit “Mr. Brightside.” Please, please, please record a solo cover of this, Mr. Martin. Please.

7. David Bowie Tributes

After Bowie’s death, news broke that he’d turned down a collaboration offer from Coldplay: “It’s not a very good song, is it?” Bowie responded. “[Bowie] was very discerning,” drummer Will Champion told the NME . “He wouldn’t just put his name to anything. I’ll give him credit for that.” Still, David Bowie and the band were close, and Coldplay have been pulling a Wayne’s World -style “We’re Not Worthy” all across America, covering “Heroes” at almost every stop. It opens with Martin’s gentle strumming, then dials up with that swinging bass groove and those hair-raising guitar lines. Before the band even kicked off their tour, Martin covered Bowie’s “Life on Mars?” on The Howard Stern Show and on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon . Oh, Coldplay — these guys just have warm hearts bursting at the seams.

7 Millionen Bäume für 7 Millionen Besucher:innen

Die „Music Of The Spheres“-Tour , die im März 2022 begann und bisher über 9 Millionen Tickets verkauft hat, soll bereits 59 Prozent weniger CO2e-Emissionen verursacht haben als ihre vorherigen Stadiontourneen in den Jahren 2016 und 2017. Diese Zahl verifizierte auch die Initiative für „eine umweltfreundliche Zukunft“ „MIT Environmental Solutions“. Dies gelang Coldplay durch mehrere Wege. Sie versprachen für jede:n Konzertbesucher:in einen Baum zu pflanzen, was mittlerweile zu 7 Millionen neuen Bäumen weltweit führte. Zudem wurden wiederverwendbare LED-Armbändchen verteilt, die nun von immer mehr Zuschauer:innen zurückgegeben werden: sie vermelden eine durchschnittliche Rücklaufquote von 86 Prozent. Auch das Tanzen zur Musik kam der Umwelt zugute, denn pro Gig wurde durchschnittlich 17 kWh Strom durch Solaranlagen und kinetische Tanzböden in den Stadien erzeugt. Für den Einsatz der Fans bedankte sich die Band:

„Vor allem möchten wir uns bei allen bedanken, die zu einer Show gekommen sind und dabei geholfen haben, die Showbatterien auf den Powerbikes und kinetischen Tanzflächen aufzuladen. Bei allen, die zu Fuß, mit dem Fahrrad, mit Mitfahrgelegenheiten oder mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln gekommen sind. Bei allen, die mit wiederbefüllbaren Wasserflaschen gekommen sind oder ihr LED-Armband zum Recyceln zurückgegeben haben […].“

Die Stromzufuhr durch die besagten Tanzböden und Elektrofahrräder, die Besucher:innen nutzen konnten, versorgte den ganzen Abend die sogenannte C-Bühne. Diese befindet sich in der Mitte der tanzenden Crowd und vor der eigentlichen Bühne. Und insgesamt 18 Auftritte sollen 2023 vollständig aus recycelten BMW i3-Batterien betrieben worden sein.  

Im Rahmen der „Music Of The Spheres“-Tour kommen Coldplay 2024 auch nach Deutschland. Sie werden vom 20. bis 23. Juli insgesamt drei Konzerte in Düsseldorf spielen. Im August kommen sie dann für drei weitere Shows in München zurück.

Its popularity sparked from constant reinvention and adaptation to the unpredictable pop music climate. Today, Coldplay continues to set a new standard for up-and-coming musicians. Artists often follow in the group’s footsteps, hoping to leave behind a legacy as strong as theirs. With more albums on the way, the band is undoubtedly ready to reinvigorate their sound all over again.

Coldplay began when lead vocalist Chris Martin and guitarist Jonny Buckland met during orientation week for their studies at University College London in 1996. Originally called Pectoralz, the band included Guy Berryman on bass and Will Champion on drums. Over the years, the group took on other unique titles like Starfish before eventually becoming Coldplay.

The band had a major breakthrough with their hugely popular single “Yellow” in 2000. It broke into the UK Top 5 and paved the way for Coldplay’s debut album, Parachutes, released through Parlophone Records. The album launched the band to commercial success and critical acclaim, receiving multi-platinum status and many highly revered awards, including two Brit awards for Best British Group and Best British Album. Coldplay also received recognition from the Recording Academy and won a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album in 2002.

Coldplay followed Parachutes up with A Rush of Blood to the Head in 2002, spawning several hit singles, including “In My Place,” “Clocks,” and “The Scientist.” The band supported their sophomore album with increasingly extensive and elaborate live shows as they toured across five continents, including performances at Glastonbury Festival, Australia’s Hordern Pavilion, and the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.

The group subsequently released the album X&Y in 2005, which became the best-selling LP of the year thanks to hit singles like “Speed of Sound,” “Fix You,” and “Talk.” Three years later, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends was produced by the infamous Brian Eno and became one of the most successful albums in UK music history. Tracks like “Violet Hill” and “Viva la Vida” helped heighten Coldplay’s versatile discography.

Ahead of Coldplay’s fifth studio release, the band debuted the lead single “Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall” and secured various headlining festival slots at Glastonbury, T in the Park, Austin City Limits Music Festival, and Lollapalooza. Mylo Xyloto arrived in October 2011, topping the charts in over 34 countries and gaining impressive accolades in the music industry.

In early 2014, Coldplay released the singles “Midnight” and “Magic” ahead of their next record, Ghost Stories. The album received mixed-to-positive reviews and quickly topped the charts in the UK, US, and more.

Throughout a highly illustrious and esteemed career, Coldplay has garnered eight Brit Awards, five MTV Video Music Awards, and seven Grammy Awards from 25 nominations. The band has sold over 80 million records worldwide because of its dynamic approach to each new album.

In 2020, Coldplay set out to make a groundbreaking record. Music of the Spheres became a legendary addition to their discography, taking the music world by storm thanks to the lead single “Higher Power.” The Max Martin-produced track further cemented Coldplay’s influence on the pop genre.

A collaboration with one of K-pop’s most notable boy bands took them further. “My Universe” featured BTS’s star power and Coldplay’s knack for reenergized pop production. After the track quickly skyrocketed to the top, Music of the Spheres appealed to a new generation.

Another exciting feature from Selena Gomez on “Let Somebody Go” reinforced the record’s bold message: Human connections keep people together while differences, unfortunately, push them apart. For many music fans, this heartfelt statement was essential to hear. Ultimately, the band’s ninth studio album easily hit number one in the UK. As one of the fastest-selling UK LPs in 2021, it marked another iconic achievement for Coldplay.

With most of the live music industry on hold from 2020 to 2021, postponed tour dates became the norm. Every fan’s desire to see their favorite band began to resurge in the new year. Coldplay had the perfect solution for their loyal supporters.

Besides their global tour, the group provided a live broadcast of their Buenos Aires gig at River Plate Stadium. Dedicated listeners got to see the Music of the Spheres tour up close and personal in the comfort of their hometown theater. Multiple screenings allowed fans to witness the high-energy Argentina concert and paved the way for a more accessible concert experience, especially in the post-pandemic era.

After nearly 25 years together, Coldplay remains a force to be reckoned with. A one-of-a-kind sound, inspirational lyrics, and vibrant live shows effortlessly capture the magic of this revolutionary band. Not to mention, the group’s star-studded collection of top-notch collabs with Beyoncé, Rihanna, Tove Lo, and many others seal the deal on their music legend status. I had always heard Coldplay were a fantastic band to see live. They did not disappoint last night at Fedex Field, right in the midst of their joyous and decidedly over-the-top Head Full of Dreams tour.

The show began with an explosion of color and light (including the LED wristbands supplied to every concertgoer) in the titular track on the band's touring album. Then came fan-favorite "Yellow," followed by "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall," the ever-popular "The Scientist," and "Birds" (the latter was a bit of a personal disappointment as it replaced the brilliant "God Put a Smile Upon Your Face" from recent setlists). This part of the show finished with the anthem "Paradise," featuring an incredible remix outro.

Next the show slowed down for an intimate trio of songs (most of us actually took a seat). This included one of the better tracks from the sub-par "Ghost Stories", "Magic."

Soon, however, things picked up with the timeless piano strokes of "Clocks," themed to a magical red light show. Next came the lighthearted "Charlie Brown." Before it began, lead singer Chris Martin asked everyone to put away their phones and simply enjoy the show. This was followed by the radio hit "Hymn for the Weekend," a candlelit (okay...Iphone flashlight lit) "Fix You," and "Viva la Vida." This last one was remarkable, as nearly the entire stadium knew the lyrics and sang along to the triumphant "Oh-oh-ohhhh" chant. The groovy "Adventure of a Lifetime" finished off this section, featuring Chris gettin' down with the audience, asking everyone to "Get low!"

Then came the highlight of the night for me: an acoustic quad of older (*cough* better *cough*) Coldplay songs which were as intimate as they were nostalgic. The lovely riffs of "In my Place" started off the set. "Don't Panic" was sung by drummer Will Champion; it's one of my favorites. But it couldn't top what was (for me) the best song of the night: "Trouble." Somber but beautiful in its own way, "Trouble" is a rare find in the setlists of today's Coldplay and was absolutely fantastic. Finally came another rare gem: "Green Eyes," which was somewhat marred by Chris's well-intentioned attempt at giving the local Redskins some luck (HA! what folly) by changing the lyrics.

The finale of the show was the hopeful and popular trio of "Something Just like This," "A Sky Full of Stars," and "Up and Up." This last track was played against the backdrop of the magical and visually stunning music video for the song.

And if there were two adjectives to sum up the show as a whole, they would be just that: magical and visually stunning. Thanks for an awesome show, Coldplay!

If you're wondering what to expect from Coldplay, expect the best show of your life! This was my first time seeing Coldplay at the Royal Albert Hall in London and I have to say this was one of best nights of my life. No exaggeration. They performed many of their most popular classics such as "Fix you" and "The Scientist" and pretty much all of my favourites "Charlie Brown" and "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" including new tracks from their latest album, Ghost Stories. The atmosphere was incredible; I've never experienced anything like it in comparison. You just had to be there! Coldplay had you dancing out of your seats for their upbeat tracks such as "Sky Full Of Stars" and hearing their more mellow tracks like "True Love" was just simply beautiful and enchanting. Their playlist for the night was definitely on point and well connected with the crowd and us fans. The stage was right in the center so I'm pretty sure everyone had a great view, it was all set up very well and the lighting looked brilliant. And as for my most memorable experience? The whole gig! There was a point at the end of "God Put a Smile Upon Your Face" when Chris Martin literally threw his electric guitar in the air and let it smash the floor for an epic finish, everyone went crazy!!! Coldplay has been a strong British iconic band for many years now, they know how to put on a show and they honestly do give it their all. Me and my friend are proud to say that we was there that night, last thing I have to say is that if you ever get the chance to see Coldplay live, grab your tickets and grab them quick! I promise you, you won't be disappointed in the slightest. Prepare to be blown away!

This was my second time seeing Coldplay, and both times were amazing. The song choice was great, with a mix of classic hits ("Yellow", "The Scientist", "Viva la Vida", "Paradise"( old favourites ("Til Kingdom Come", and "Shiver" being played upon request), and newer, more high energy songs off "A Head Full of Dreams".

The Xylobands were a hit again, really making a spectacular light show along with various other effects, and colourful balloons being released into the crowd. The whole audience was just so full of energy thanks to the band's performance. Since it was raining heavily, the roof had to be covered, which meant no fireworks, but the band still delivered an amazing show despite this.

Frontman Chris Martin always creates a great atmosphere, with enthusiasm and positivity, like carrying the country's flag in his back pocket, and apologising for the fact that, as he put it, "Britain did something pretty stupid last week..." and just generally making the crowd feel great with humour and honesty. All of the band members just look really comfortable with each other and deliver a really great performance together.

Tributes were very nicely and elegantly paid to Muhammad Ali and David Bowie, and the final song, "Up & Up", ended the concert on a really positive note, and I would definitely recommend Coldplay to anyone who has the chance to see them play live.

There is little in this world that compares to a Coldplay concert. Exhilarating, energetic and euphoric are just some of the words that can be used to describe what one experiences when Chris Martin and band take to the stage.

One of my most memorable concert experiences ever, when Coldplay played the Emirates Stadium back in 2012, it was simply astounding. Extravagant production and simply phenomenal live music, it became clear to me why tickets for these shows trade hands for thousands and why fans travel far and wide.

Hearing 60,000 people sing word for word hit singles such as Paradise, Fix You and Princess of China made the hairs on my arms stand on end, so one can only imagine how this must feel for the band.

Their track record speaks for itself. Eight Brit Awards, seven Grammys, six number one albums and 60 million record sales make Coldplay’s success undeniable and they continue to reign as one of the world’s biggest bands. The reason behind this success becomes clear at a live show.

As a live act, Coldplay have achieved things that others have not. They are truly in a league of their own and this can only be understood when you witness this for yourself. I have tried but my words simply cannot capture the magic.

First of all I need to just say wow! Wow! Yesterday I experienced one of the greatest nights of my life. Yesterday I really did feel like I was part of something special, something so big and beautiful. The love, the happiness and the excaitment people were feeling last night were something you can't put words on. We stood in the rain for so many hours, we sat in a que and then we stood in the rain again.. but let me just say that when Coldplay came on stage they put on the best god damn show ever. You could really feel their thankfulness during the show. They promised us (in Chris Martins own words) "The best fucking show ever" and let me tell you it was! During the night I got to experience people from different countries dancing and singing along together, I got to experience that moment when Chris decided to write a new song about Sweden and Gothenburg! The night was amazing in so many ways. And just as he said during the night, that he believes when people are working together and last night everybody in that arena stood together. We celebrated the music, the evening and most of all we celebrated the love. Because in the end of the day Love is what matters and it will always win.

Yesterday was beautiful, just pure beautiful!

Since the release of Coldplay's fifth album 'Mylo Xyloto' the emphasis of their live show appears to be on the theatrics and the avant-garde. An album so super charged with power pop it was considered a substitute to red bull, the band quickly substituted the tender subtleties of 'Shivers' for the brass tones of 'Charlie Brown' and 'Hurts Like Heaven'. These new tracks are undoubtedly anthemic yet the visual displays and complexing stage layouts slightly detract from the musicianship of the quartet. Whilst performing the more downtempo and emotive tracks from break up album 'Ghost Stories' Chris Martin's vocal sounds notably weak during 'Magic' and all of the pyro-techniques and visuals cannot hide this.

They recover with some classics including 'The Scientist' which is sang back in force by the crowds and the flawless 'Every Teardrop is A Waterfall' closes the main set in a suitably euphoric manner. However the choice to return with the floundering and flat 'anthem' 'Sky Full of Stars' which Chris consistently fails to deliver vocally seems a poor way to close a tour from one of the world's most esteemed pop/rock bands. It leaves the audiences wondering if 'Mylo Xyloto' was a particular career pinnacle for the band.

A Coldplay concert is a real face to face experience for a someone who love their songs. It may not be an intimate experience but considering the legions of fans that they have only a concert can accommodate everyone who are waiting all their lives for a chance to hear them live. and they never disappoint. A total performance complete with lasers and light and firework BUT without much fanfare, just them singing & playing their hearts OUT song after song alone or in harmony with the fans some crying, most gleefully dancing to their upbeat song or swaying OR slow dancing to slow Fix You or Yellow and probably thinking of someone they "cannot replace". Chris Martin is an awesome guy and so are the rest of the band. May their personal lives be as awesome as their professional lives, they deserve that too. as to Singapore, it may not be as engaging as it would be in the Philippines but hey, no one can complain; i had the best time celebrating my birthday in one of the best stadium this side of town with around 50K Coldpay fans celebrating with me :) :). Long live Coldplay, may you continue to bring joy to you fans worldwide. Looking forward to another Coldplay concert experience in the future.

Most AMAZING show I've EVER seen. I've seen some legends. The Who, BB King, Depeche Mode five times, the Cute, Social Distortion, Blue October, many, many more. Coldplay blew them ALL away by far, and I even had crappy seats. I see them again in Philly in August, and I'm counting down the days! Fireworks! The bracelets lit up and changed colors with the stage lighting. Michael J Fox made a special guest appearance playing "Earth Angel" and "Johnny B Good" with the band. He was spectacular!! The show lasted just over two hours, but it felt like it had just started. Chris Martin may very well be the greatest front man of all time. He can work a crowd, even the stuffed shirts, like nobody's business. Coldplay is my favorite band for a reason, only a few of them listed above. They're all classically trained musicians. All of them multi-instrumentalists. Songs range from ballads to get up on your feet and jump around beats! AMAZING show, AMAZING band! I love you Guy, Jonny, Will, and Chris. Please keep doing what you're doing.

Piece of para paraa paradise in Berlin!!! It was one of the best shows in my life (if it comes to visual effects), all of these confetti, colourful powders in the air, and big baloons! One big WOW. Chris and his band were so joyful, funny and relaxed. I always thought he has a nice voice, nothing spectacular, just "quite normal voice". That's my opinion. And after the show I'm not going to change that. Instruments were great, his voice was cool, that's it. But songs were just awesome, I loved that! Especially the older ones like Paradise, The Scientist, Princess of China (ft. Rihanna, I was sooo happy to hear that song!), Fix you, etc. Of course there were many occasions to dance when you heard Hymn for The Weekend (AMAZING, with additional techno(?)dance remixes), Adventure of a lifetime, viva la vida or sky full of stars. My rate from 1 to 5 is 4+. Great atmosphere, great people, I had fun and I definitely want to see Coldplay again! :)

Coldplay. What can I say? They are masters of the stadium experience. The fireworks and the LED wrist bands that lit up the stadium and made you feel part of the show, not just watching it.The lightshow, the lasers, the ambiance.

We didn't have the best spot to see the whole thing, but enough room to dance and see them when the got onto the runway- to enjoy the star/ leaf confetti the trade off for not being able to see the whole thing in from afar- so the highlight for me was when they came OFF the stage, passed by where I was standing on a path cut out by security guards and then sang Kingdom Come, only feet away- a song I used to play on my guitar and my son plays- who is presently in NYC- and THAT was my highlight. A beautiful song without all the flashing lights, a song close to me and my family.

They are humble and they are fabulous musicians. They can make you laugh and sing and dance and cry.Keep on doing what you do.Please.

Coldplay spielen im Rahmen ihrer Welttournee derzeit Konzerte in Deutschland. Schon im vergangenen Jahr kündigte die britische Band an, die Tournee „so nachhaltig und umweltfreundlich wie möglich“ gestalten zu wollen. Dafür haben Coldplay eine Vielzahl von Bemühungen umgesetzt – es gibt auch Greenwashing-Kritik.

Eine grellbunte Lichtshow, ein tosendes Publikum und zahlreiche Hits: Im Rahmen ihrer „Music of the Spheres“-Welttournee macht die britische Band Coldplay derzeit Station in Deutschland. Am Samstagabend (3. Juli) gab sie ihr erstes Deutschlandkonzert in Frankfurt am Main, ein weiteres folgt am Dienstagabend (5. Juli). Anschließend ist die Popband noch dreimal im Olympiastadion in Berlin zu Gast (10., 12. und 13. Juli).

Bei ihrem Auftaktkonzert am Samstag in Frankfurt lieferten Coldplay ein breites Spektrum. Mal gab es eine schrillbunte Lasershow, dann wieder ruhigere Pianosongs. Die Zuschauer waren mit LED-Armbändern ausgestattet worden, die zentral gesteuert wurden und das ausverkaufte Stadion beispielsweise zum aktuellen Hit „My Universe“ in ein blau-pinkes Lichtermeer verwandelte.

Was Coldplay besonders am Herzen liegt, sind der Umweltschutz und die Nachhaltigkeit. Coldplay erklärten schon im vergangenen Jahr, ihre Tournee „so nachhaltig und umweltfreundlich wie möglich“ gestalten zu wollen.

Das große Ziel der Band ist es, die Emissionen ihrer Tournee im Vergleich zu ihrer letzten Konzertreihe in den Jahren 2016 und 2017 um 50 Prozent zu reduzieren.

Weitere konkrete Beispiele zur Umsetzung ihres Vorhabens nennt die Band auf der Website zu ihrer Welttournee. So sollen die Shows komplett mit erneuerbaren, extrem emissionsarmen Energien durchgeführt werden. Dazu werde es Solaranlagen an jedem Veranstaltungsort sowie einen kinetischen Stadionboden, der durch die Konzertbesucherinnen und -besucher betrieben wird, geben. Diese Energie soll dann in der ersten mobilen, wiederaufladbaren Showbatterie gespeichert werden, die in Zusammenarbeit mit BMW entwickelt und hergestellt wurde.

„Wir werden unsere Bühnenproduktion fast ausschließlich mit erneuerbarer, super emissionsarmer Energie betreiben. Wo immer es möglich ist, vermeiden wir fossile Brennstoffe“, schrieb die Band zu ihrem Ziel.

Bei den Coldplay-Konzerten soll kostenloses Trinkwasser zur Verfügung gestellt sowie möglichst auf Plastikgegenstände verzichtet werden. Die Fans können mit der offiziellen Tour-App CO₂-arme Transportmittel zur An- und Abreise vergünstigt nutzen. Zudem sollen 10 Prozent der Einnahmen an einen Fonds für umwelt- und sozialbewusste Zwecke gezahlt werden. Für jedes verkaufte Ticket soll außerdem ein Baum gepflanzt werden.

„Wir sind uns natürlich der Klimakrise bewusst“, erklärten Coldplay ihre Umweltziele auf der Website weiter. Deshalb hätte sich die Band in den letzten zwei Jahren mit Umweltexperten beraten, um die Tournee so nachhaltig wie möglich zu gestalten. „Es ist gleichermaßen wichtig, das Potenzial dieser Tour zu nutzen, um die Entwicklung voranzubringen. Wir werden nicht alles richtig machen, aber wir sind entschlossen, alles zu tun, was wir können und das Gelernte zu teilen. Es ist ein in Arbeit befindlicher Prozess und wir sind wirklich dankbar für die Hilfe, die wir bisher hatten“, schrieb die Band.

Zum ambitionierten Plan der Musiker gehören auch Kooperationen mit großen Unternehmen. Genau das löste im Mai eine Welle der Kritik aus. Die finnische Ölgesellschaft Neste, die sich selbst als größter Produzent nachhaltiger Biokraftstoffe und umweltfreundlicher als andere Mineralölunternehmen bezeichnet, sollte die Coldplay-Konzerte mit nachhaltiger Energie beliefern, wie Frontsänger Chris Martin im Mai ankündigte.

Laut einer Studie von „Friends of the Earth“ hätten aber die Palmöllieferanten von Neste zwischen 2019 und 2020 mindestens 10.000 Hektar Wald in Ländern wie Indonesien und Malaysia gerodet. Vorwürfe des Greenwashings wurden laut.

„Neste benutzt Coldplay auf zynische Weise, um seinen Ruf grün zu waschen. Dies ist ein Unternehmen, das mit der Art der Entwaldung in Verbindung gebracht wird, die Chris Martin und seine Fans entsetzen würde“, sagte Carlos Calvo Ambel, leitender Direktor der Kampagnengruppe „Transport and Environment“ (T&E), damals gegenüber der britischen Tageszeitung „The Guardian“.

In einer Erklärung der Band zu der Kritik an der Zusammenarbeit mit Neste hieß es: „Bevor wir Neste als Lieferanten für diese Biokraftstoffprodukte ernannten, erhielten wir ihre Garantie, dass sie bei ihrer Produktion keine neuen Materialien verwenden – vor allem kein Palmöl. Wir gehen nach wie vor davon aus, dass sie nur erneuerbare Abfallprodukte wie Speiseöl und Nebenprodukte aus der Zellstoffherstellung verwenden.“

Auch die Partnerschaft mit dem deutschen Autohersteller BMW wurde bereits kritisiert, der die wiederaufladbaren Showbatterien entwickelte. „Coldplay wurden verarscht. BMW setzt sich dafür ein, die EU daran zu hindern, eine Frist bis 2035 für emissionsfreie Fahrzeuge festzulegen“, sagte Eoin Dubsky, Kampagnenmanager der Verbraucherbewegung „Sum of Us“ , gegenüber „The Guardian“.
