Tour Reviews

Easy to use

My Husband and I visited Kualoa Ranch on our honeymoon. The package we pre-purchased came with hotel pickup and drop off, thank goodness for that or else it is a 1 hr (at best) drive out there. On arrival our bus load of people had to stay together as a staff member gave us a very brief tour of the check-in areas for different tours. Our first tour was the Garden and Fish Pond Tour. We drove in a no window bus down the road and were taken through an agricultural field of plants and trees, surprisingly very interesting. Next, we headed out to the fish pond where we learned about what fish they had there on a little boat, the view from here was amazing. The water pond and mountains were breathtaking.

We booked the fish pond and Garden tour and our tour guide was named Jimmy. I had a great time with him as my tour guide- I had so much fun and got to sample some of the things that are grown on the land. And I got a history lesson which I love because I love history. There is so much to do there you could spend the whole day there.

We took the Garden and Fish Pond Tour because we couldn’t get on the tour we wanted. As it turned out it was a very informative and enjoyable tour. We had a great tour guide, she lead the English tour. The catamaran cruise on the pond was wonderful. Highly recommended.

Destination Checkoff

Is Kualoa Ranch worth it, and which tour should you pick?

Affiliate Disclosure for Destination Checkoff

Kulaoa Ranch is a beautiful scenic private nature reserve on the windward or east side of Oahu island of Hawaii. It is also called Jurrasic Park of Hawaii, as this is where the Jurrasic Park movie scenes and many other movies were filmed.

Kualoa Ranch offers a variety of family-friendly tours, ranging from adventurous to scenic and educational.

I have been to Oahu twice so far, first in 2018 and most recently in 2024. Both times, we went to Kualoa Ranch to try some of their excursions. My family loved their tours! They were the highlight of our trip to Oahu .

But during our visit to the ranch we learned that this place is so much more than just the tours. It is a place steeped in history and strives to preserve the ancient lands.

Read on to find out more about the various tours at Kualoa Ranch, including the most popular ones and the ones we tried. What tour you pick would depend on your family or group’s interests, but I hope this article will help you choose.

Kulaoa Ranch Overview

Kualoa Ranch is a 4000-acre Private Nature Reserve. It is not only a working cattle ranch but also an agricultural and aquacultural establishment committed to protecting the valley for future generations.

A sign that says 'Welcome to Kualoa Ranch' and explains the history of the ranch

Kulaoa Ranch is also a premier tourist destination in Hawaii. It is known for its stunning scenery and famous movie sites. Scenes from the Jurrasic Park movies and several other movies and TV shows were filmed here, and it is also called the Backlot of Hawaii.

Kualoa Ranch offers a variety of tours, from adventurous options like the ATV, Jurassic Adventure, zip line, and e-bike tours to scenic ones like the Ocean Voyage and Hollywood Movie Sites tours.

Some informational tours also focus on agriculture and sustainability, like the Kualoa Grown Tour and the Malama Experience.

Is Kualoa Ranch worth it?

Visiting Kualoa Ranch is often high on the list for those traveling to Oahu, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a beautiful, scenic valley that gives you the vibe of seeing the real Hawaii, which is lush and green with beautiful mountains, valleys, and ocean.

Plus, it has some of the best tours for a fun-filled day for your entire group! The tours range from $55 to $200 per person, and most tours are around 1 to 3 hours in length.

Beautful Kualoa Mountain ranges seen from the Ocean Voyager tour at Kualoa Ranch

You can also combine two or three tours and make it a full-day excursion to Kualaoa Ranch. This is what we did on our recent trip to Oahu.

In the morning, we did the Hollywood Movie Sites Tour, then kept an hour free for lunch, and later on in the afternoon, we did the Ocean Voyage tour. We had our senior parents with us, so we wanted tours they could do as well with minimal walking.

A wall poster with names and pictures of all Hollywood films shot at Kualoa Ranch

I know that the cost can add up for a family or large group, but I think the cost of the tours is worth it for the beauty and history of the place and the fun excursions. Plus, the guides are amazing, too, and give so much information about the ranch and the movies that were shot here.

If we go to Oahu again in the future, we will definitely go back to Kualoa Ranch and try some more of their tours. Maybe the Jurrasic Adventure Tour or the ATV tour if I can convince my teen daughters to get all muddy 🙂

Kualoa Ranch Tours (and which one to pick?)

But with so many tours to choose from, it can be challenging to decide which one is worth your time and money.

The three tours that we experienced at Kualoa Ranch are –

  • Hollywood Movie Sites Tour (we loved the movie sites and the World War II bunker on this one)
  • Ocean Voyage Adventure (our favorite overall! The catamaran ride was awesome)
  • Jungle Expedition Tour (great bumpy ride, hike, and views at the end)

Here’s a breakdown of all their excursions to help you pick the best tour based on your interests, starting with the ones we did first.

  • Hollywood Movie Sites Tour
  • Why pick this tour? – If you are a movie fan and want to know about the movies and TV shows being filmed at the Ranch.
  • Type of ride – Bus ride, not bumpy, suitable for seniors and families. There are steps to board the bus.
  • Duration – 90 minutes

This 90-minute tour on a vintage green school bus takes you through Ka’a’awa Valley, where many Hollywood movies and shows have been filmed.

Hollywood Movie Sites green tour bus stopped outside the historic World War II bunker

The tour guide provided a lot of fun and historical information about the movie sites at Kualoa Ranch.

Our first stop was a Historic World War II bunker, which was my kid’s favorite part. Inside, there were memorabilia from various movies, such as Jumanji, Kong Skull Island, Hawaii Five-O, and more.

Posters and props from Jumanji movie shot at Kualoa Ranch

There was a beautiful vista point here with great views of the windward coastline.

Another stop was at the boneyard from Kong Skull Island, which was great for photo ops.

Kong Skull Island bone graveyard at Kualoa Ranch. Large bone props on a green field

The tour also stopped at many other filming sites (to be seen from the bus), such as the dance fight area in Jumanji and Godzilla’s giant-sized footprints.

We also saw several farms, unique tropical plants, and fruit trees. Overall, it was a fun tour.

Ocean Voyage Adventure

  • Why pick this tour? – For a scenic boat ride across the fishpond and a fun catamaran boat ride in Kaneohe Bay.
  • Type of ride – Bus ride, boat ride, and catamaran ride. Suitable for seniors who can climb steps and families. The bus and catamaran boat have steps to get in and out. Some short walking is required at Secret Island.

This tour was so much fun! This is our family’s new favorite tour at Kualoa Ranch. We all loved the catamaran boat ride. It goes super fast and the waves make the boat rock which adds to the fun.

On this tour, we first boarded a bus and, in about 10 minutes, reached Moli’i Fishpond. This is an 800-year-old Hawaiian fishpond used for aquaculture and oyster farming.

Boat dock at the fishpond at Kualoa Ranch

Here, we boarded a small boat and had a 10-minute scenic boat ride crossing the fishpond. The views of the Kualoa mountain ranges and the surrounding greenery were really spectacular.

We reached Secret Island and walked a short distance to the beach, where we boarded the Catamaran boat for the Ocean voyage.

Short sandy path that leads to Secret Island at Kualoa Ranch

The boat has two levels, and the lower level has more seating. If you can climb the steps, I recommend going to the upper level for the views when the boat goes out into the ocean towards the Chinaman’s hat (Mokoll’i Island).

Catamaran boat ride during the Ocean Voyager tour at Kualoa Ranch

The boat goes super fast while going out in the ocean and rocks quite a bit with the waves, which was awesome. My husband and kids get seasick easily, but everyone was fine, and no one felt queasy.

Chinaman's hat Island seen from the Ocean Voyage tour at Kualoa Ranch

We even spotted a few turtles . The return ride back is smooth and a great time to take pics. The views of the Ko’olau mountain range and Kualoa Valley from the boat are spectacular.

Views of Kualoa Ranch mountain ranges from the Ocean Voyage tour with mountains and emerald colored water

You return back the same way, crossing the fishpond and then boarding the bus to come back to the ranch.

Awesome ocean voyage tour! We will definitely do it again in the future!

  • Jungle Expedition Tour
  • Why pick this tour? – Moderate adventure tour in a jeep through a rainforest and some movie sites. A short hike to a scenic viewpoint at the end.
  • Type of ride – A bumpy ride in an open-air Jungle Expedition jeep with some great stops at movie sites and scenic overlooks.

We did this tour on our first trip to Oahu and loved it. It was the best of everything Kualoa Ranch had to offer – an adventure ride through a rainforest, movie sites, and a hike to a scenic viewpoint.

A green open-air jeep at Kualoa Ranch

The open-air jeep was huge and fun; the kids loved it. The ride was fast and bumpy, and we were so close to vegetation and trees at times. We stopped at a site where a scene from the Jumanji movie was filmed for photos.

We also saw some sites from the Jurrasic World movie and Kong Skull Island. At one point, it started raining (well, it’s a rainforest!), which added to the adventure.

Towards the end of the tour, we did a small 10-minute hike over a dirt trail and saw jaw-dropping views of the Hakipu’u and Ka’a’awa valleys. Great photo op here.

We didn’t do this, but we saw some people returning from the tour, and they were covered with dust. Change of clothes and shoes is recommended, and don’t take anything (like nice purses) if you don’t want them to get dirty.

My teen daughters didn’t want to do this as they didn’t want to get muddy. But maybe next time I’ll convince them to do it!

Where to eat?

Kulaoa Ranch has a pretty good cafe, Aunty Pat’s Cafe and it has a lot of hot meal options. We even found several vegetarian options. The Garden burger and fries were great.

Coffee, drinks, various snacks, and ice cream were also available to purchase. There is indoor and covered outdoor seating areas.

The Visitor Center also has clean restrooms and a large gift shop to buy souvenirs.

Things to do near Kualoa Ranch

Byodo-In Temple – We first stopped at Byodo-In Temple on our way to the Ranch. Its around 20 minutes south of Kualoa Ranch. It’s a Buddhist temple on beautifully kept grounds with koi ponds. It was super crowded when we reached at 9:30 AM. 30 minutes should be enough here.

Tropical Farms Macadamia Nuts —If you have some time after the activities at Kualaoa Ranch, stop by this cute roadside store, which sells coffee, macadamia nuts, and other gifts and souvenirs.

How to get there?

Rental Car – We rented a car for the whole duration of our recent trip and drove there. On the 2018 trip, we did not have a rental car, but we rented a car for a day to go to Kualoa Ranch and the Polynesian Cultural Center .

Beautiful scenic drive on the Windward side of Oahu

Kualoa Transportation – For select tours, such as the full-day package, you can add on per-person transportation for pickup from select hotels in Waikiki . For other tours, you might have to call and check with ranch directly.

Wrap-up: Visiting Kualoa Ranch on Oahu

Kualoa Ranch is a unique nature reserve in east Oahu rich in history and preservation that offers a wide range of fun activities and tours catering to different interests.

We enjoyed all three tours we have done on Kualoa Ranch over our last two visits to Oahu. Hopefully we’ll get to visit Oahu again and try more of their awesome tours.

Whether you’re exploring movie sites, riding UTVs, horses, or e-bikes, ziplining through valleys, or learning about Hawaiian culture and farming, you’re guaranteed a day full of adventure and discovery. But remember that tours get sold out, so book yours soon.

What Is Kualoa Ranch?

Kualoa Ranch is one of the oldest and most revered ranches in Hawaii. Located on Oahu’s windward coast near Kaneohe, this 4,000-acre ranch offers breathtaking views with lush green valleys and majestic mountains.

Kualoa Ranch is a working cattle ranch, but it has also served as an iconic filming location since the 1950s. It has been featured in films such as Jurassic Park , 50 First Dates , Jumanji , and many more.

Lots of cattle in the field at Kualoa Ranch seen during our ATV Raptor tour, with some spectacular mountain views.

Note About Kualoa Ranch Tours

Before we begin, I want to mention that the tour duration includes safety briefings and training. I’ve seen multiple reviews where people said the tour was shorter than expected.

We have been on many tours in Oahu and Kualoa Ranch specifically, and we have never felt like the tour was too short compared to what was advertised.

So, with that said, let’s dive in and look at the top tours at Kualoa Ranch!

1. ATV Raptor Tour

⭐  RATING:  4.5 out of 5 stars  | Duration:  2 hours

Age Restrictions: 21+ years to drive; 5+ years to ride

The ATV Raptor Tour is a thrilling adventure that takes you through the heart of Kualoa Ranch’s Jurassic Valley.

Guests will ride in all-terrain UTVs through dirt roads, passing by movie sets and other landmarks.

This two-hour tour also includes an experienced guide who will take you to some of the ranch’s most beautiful and remote locations. Your guide will share stories about Kualoa Ranch’s rich history, culture, and movies filmed there as you explore its unique terrain.

Each ATV can hold between two to six people depending on your group’s number of kids.

This is an excellent option for those looking for a thrilling adventure and stunning views of the ranch.

Note:  This tour is officially known as the UTV Raptor Tour, but we are referring to it as the ATV tour because most tourists call it the ATV tour. Your guide will be the only one driving an ATV while everyone rides UTVs.

Tip:  This is the most popular tour at Kualoa Ranch, so be sure to book ahead of time! Also, this is a rain-or-shine tour, so be sure to come prepared and check the weather in advance.

We wore raincoats during our tour because mother nature blessed us with rain. If you do not have a raincoat, they sell some ponchos for cheap.

A line of UTVs at Kualoa Ranch parked on the side during our tour.

What’s Included:

Why we love this tour: This tour is the perfect mix of adventure and exploration. You will have an action-packed day, from driving your ATV to learning about Kualoa Ranch’s history! Also, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Even though we did this tour on a rainy day, he still made the experience fun and exciting.

Cons: Very dusty and muddy, but that’s part of the adventure! So, make sure to wear clothes you are okay with getting dirty.

2. Jurassic Adventure Tour

⭐  RATING: 4.5 out of 5 stars | Duration: 2.5 hours

Age restrictions : 3+ years

The Jurassic Adventure Tour is a guided tour that takes you to iconic movie sets such as the original Jurassic Park , Jurassic World , King Kong , Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom , and more.

The tour begins in an open-air off-road vehicle, where you will journey through the lush valleys and rugged terrain of Kualoa Ranch. The ride might be a little bumpy, but nothing too intense.

The tour also covers some historical sites, including an old World War II bunker.

Along the way, you can take pictures with some of the props used in different films. Your guide will also share stories about the movies filmed there and interesting facts about Hawaiian history and culture.

Our favorite part of this tour was stopping at the famous Jurassic field where the Gallimimus flock towards the cast! It was surreal to see a place where some of our favorite scenes were shot.

What’s included:

  • Guided tour

Why we love this tour: We loved seeing some of the iconic movie locations. It was also a fantastic way to learn about the different movies filmed at Kualoa Ranch. Also, the guides are very knowledgeable and friendly.

Cons: Some might find this tour a bit pricey, but it’s worth the experience.

3. Jurassic Valley Zipline

⭐  RATING: 5 out of 5 stars | Duration: 3 hours

Restrictions:

  • Age: 18+ years old if unaccompanied by an adult
  • Height: Between 4’8” – 6’9”
  • Waist Size: Between 22″ – 50″
  • Upper Thigh Size: Between 18″ – 28″
  • Weight: Between 70 and 280 pounds

The  Jurassic Valley Zipline Tour  is another thrilling way to explore Kualoa Ranch with friends and family. This zipline tour consists of seven ziplines, five short hiking trails, and two suspension bridges.

Guests will take a shuttle to the zipline base camp, where they will be fitted with a harness and helmet. Safety briefings are included before each zipline.

All ziplines are tandem (dual) and range from 200 feet to 1/4 of a mile in length. The lines start easy and get progressively more challenging, but nothing too scary, in our opinion.

The longest zipline is the fourth one, and the fastest one is the seventh giving you time to get used to the experience before it gets more intense.

After the tour, guests will return to the zipline base, where you can purchase photos taken throughout the tour.

The valley at Jurassic Park with some mountain views and some clouds in the sky.

  • All necessary gear

Why we love this tour: The adrenaline rush of flying through Jurassic Valley on a zipline is an unforgettable experience. Also, we love dual zip lines, as these tend to move faster than other single-line tours we’ve been on.

This tour reminds us of ziplining with Outfitters Kauai, one of the best zipline tours in Kauai. If you are ever in Kauai and looking for a tandem zipline experience, definitely check it out.

Cons: Some customers mentioned that most lines were moderate. If you are a very experienced zipliner and an adrenaline junkie, this one might not be the right tour.

4. Horseback Walking Tour

⭐  RATING: 4.5 out of 5 stars | Duration: 2 hours

Age: 10+ years old

Height: minimum 4’6″

Weight: maximum 230 pounds

If you would rather explore Ka’a’awa “Jurassic” Valley on the back of a horse, then you should join this two-hour walking tour. The horses are well-trained, so even if you have never been horseback riding before, you can still enjoy it.

The tour begins with an introductory lesson about how to ride your horse correctly and safely. Your guide will then help everyone get on their horses.

The tour will take you along the trails of Ka’a’awa Valley, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and see some of the locations used in film productions.

The trails are easy to navigate, and your guide will give you interesting information about the area as you ride.

The horses at Kualoa Ranch before our tour, with some gorgeous mountain views.

Why we love this tour: The horseback riding tour is a great way to intimately explore Kualoa Ranch and Ka’a’awa Valley. It’s a peaceful way to take in the breathtaking views and learn about the area’s history.

5. Jungle Expedition Tour

⭐  RATING: 4.5 out of 5 stars | Duration: 90 Minutes

Age Restrictions: 3+ years old

The  Jungle Expedition Tour  is one of the best ways to explore Kualoa Ranch with less work on your part.

You will be driven in a custom-built open-air jungle vehicle to explore the Hakipu’u rainforest. This is the same gorgeous valley seen in Jurassic World , Jumanji , Kong: Skull Island , and more.

The ride is bumpy and fun, and you’ll learn about the history of Kualoa Ranch and the surrounding areas from your guide.

Guests also have the option to take a short 15-minute hike to a scenic overlook with incredible views of the valley.

The lush scenery at Kualoa Ranch with some spectacular mountain views.

  • 15-minute hike (optional)

Why we love this tour: If you don’t have the time or prefer sitting back and taking it all in, this is the perfect way to explore Kualoa Ranch. We also love that this tour is one of the cheaper options and is suitable for people of most ages.

Cons: While this tour includes some stops on movie sets, it has fewer stops than the other tours or the Movie Sites Tour. If your primary goal is to visit most movie sets, this tour might not be the best one. It focuses more on the jungle, the beautiful views, and a fun ride.

6. Hollywood Movie Sites Tour

⭐  RATING: 4.5 out of 5 stars | Duration: 90 minutes

Restrictions: None

Are you a movie buff? Then the  Hollywood Movie Sites Tour  is perfect for you! This tour has the most movie stops of all the tours listed.

You’ll explore the iconic backdrops used in movies and television shows since the 1950s. Some stops include Jurassic World , Godzilla , Windtalkers , 50 First Dates , Pearl Harbor , Jumanji , and more.

Your guide will take you on a vintage school bus and provide interesting information about the production and filming of the scenes.

This tour also stops at the World War II bunker, where you can find WWII artifacts and exhibits, props, posters, and memorabilia from movies and shows that have been shot at the ranch over the years.

A little village inside of Kualoa Ranch during the Movie Sites Tour with gorgeous mountain views.

Why we love this tour: We love that this tour has the most movie stops. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and told us many interesting stories about the production and filming of each movie. It felt surreal to be standing in the same place where our favorite movies were filmed.

7. Electric Mountain Bike Tour

⭐  RATING: 5 out of 5 stars | Duration: 2 Hours

Height: Between 4’6” – 6’5”

Weight: Between 85 – 250 pounds

Do you want to explore Kualoa Ranch in a more active way? Then the 6-mile  Electric Mountain Bike Tour  is perfect for you!

You will get outfitted with an electric mountain bike as you explore Kualoa and Ka’a’awa Valleys with your guide. The e-bike makes it easy to cover more ground in less time, with minimal effort on your part. The trail is a gravel/rocky path, but the e-bike and its suspension make it much easier to traverse.

Enjoy spectacular views of Kaneohe Bay, Mokoliʻi (Chinaman’s Hat Island), and Kualoa Valley. At certain spots along the trail, your guide will stop for photo ops so you can capture some amazing shots of the scenery.

This tour includes 5-6 stops. During the first stop, you will explore the World War II bunker and its artifacts. After that, you’ll explore the valley and the movie sets.

E-mountain bikes parked on the side of the trail during our tour at Kualoa Ranch.

  • Electric mountain bike rental

Why we love this tour: We love the idea of exploring the ranch on an electric bike. Electric bikes make it easy for people of all skill levels to enjoy the ride. Also, electric bikes are much quieter than ATVs, so it’s a peaceful way to explore nature.

8. Secret Island Beach Adventure

⭐  RATING: 4 out of 5 stars | Duration: 3 Hours

Looking for an adventure that includes a beach? Then the  Secret Island Beach Adventure  is perfect for you. On this tour, you’ll explore Kualoa’s secret beach and take part in many activities.

Guests can participate in kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, beach volleyball, and more. The beach also has hammocks under palm trees for those that want to relax and enjoy the view.

Showers and changing rooms are available on the beach. Bring a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, drinks, snacks, and whatever else you need for the beach.

  • Beach Activities

Why we love this tour: This is a unique experience. You get to explore the secret beach at Kualoa Ranch and participate in many beach activities with your friends or family. Also, the tour guides are very friendly.

Cons: This tour doesn’t focus on movie sets or touring the gorgeous valleys, so this might not be the best tour if that’s what you’re looking for. This tour is best for those wanting to spend time at a private beach.

9. Kualoa Grown Tour

⭐  RATING: 5 out of 5 stars | Duration: 90 minutes

The  Kualoa Grown Tour  is perfect for those that want to learn about local Hawaiian farming.

Guests will tour one of Hawaii’s most preserved ancient Hawaiian Fishponds (Moli’i), carbon-dated between 800 and 1,000 years old.

For over 800 years, Moli’i has been used to raise fish and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the  United States Department of the Interior .

You’ll also get to explore flower gardens and tropical fruits of Moli’i during the tour.

  • Access to Moli’i Fishpond

Why we love this tour: We love that this tour focuses on agriculture. You get to learn about the ancient Hawaiian culture and traditional farming methods that have been passed down for generations.

Cons: Just like the Secret Island Beach Adventure, this tour doesn’t focus on movie sets or touring the gorgeous valleys.

Kualoa Ranch Movie Tour vs. Jungle Tour

The main difference between the movie tour and the jungle tour is that the movie tour focuses on movie sets, locations, and TV shows filmed at Kualoa Ranch. Overall, the movie tour has more stops at movie sites than the jungle tour.

On the other hand, the jungle tour focuses more on the natural beauty of Kualoa Ranch and its lush green valleys. It also includes some stops at movie sites but is more focused on the flora and fauna of Kualoa Ranch.

Which one should you choose?  It depends on the experience you are looking for when choosing between these two tours. We recommend the movie tour if you’re interested in seeing movie sites and learning about filming locations.

If you’re looking for something more focused on nature and natural beauty, plus some movie location stops, then the jungle tour is a great option.

Kualoa Ranch is located on the east side of Oahu. Below are the two best ways to get there:

Uber/Lyft or Taxi: If you cannot drive or would rather not, you can book an Uber/Lyft or take a taxi. This option is more costly but is another convenient option.

Kualoa Ranch – Aloha Aina Farm Tour

To be honest, out of all Kualoa Ranch tours, I’m the least impressed with Aloha Aina Tour. Is it a bad experience? No, it’s actually a quite interesting tropical gardens tour combined with a canoe ride where you will get to learn about fragrant fruit trees and tropical flowers. At Oahu’s most well-preserved ancient Hawaiian fishponds (Moli’i), you will get to learn about early Hawaiian aquaculture practices and how fish was farmed.

But is Aloha Aina Tour worth the money? It really depends on your interest, but I think the experience falls short compared to other tours and activities that are offered at Kualoa Ranch.

What is the best Kualoa Ranch tour?

The best and most highly-rated Kualoa Ranch tour is the ATV Raptor Tour , offering an exhilarating ride through the jungle and movie sites on all-terrain vehciles.

Other popular tours include the Jurassic Valley Zipline which gives guests a bird’s-eye view of the lush valley below, and the Movies Tour which takes guests to some of the filming locations for popular movies and TV shows.

My Honest Review of Kualoa Ranch Tours

Out of all the most popular tours at Kualoa Ranch, I think ATV tour is the best tour in terms of unique experience and value for money.

Kualoa Ranch ATV Tour vs Movies Tour vs Jungle Tour

The ATV Raptor Tour takes you off the beaten path and into some of the most beautiful and remote parts of the ranch while also include some stops from the Movies Tour and the Jungle Tour, giving you the best value for money. You will get to see firsthand how the ranch is managed and learn about its cattle operation. And, of course, the scenery is simply breathtaking.

In order to drive the all-terrain vehicle, you have to be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license. It’s amazing to feel that you’re in control of your exploration! Some parts of the dirt trails may be muddy, so you may want to bring a change of clothes or wet wipes with you.

Because the ATV tour will include some stops from the Movies Tour and the Jungle Tour, if you want to add another tour to stay longer at Kualoa Ranch, I’d suggest you add the Ocean Voyage Tour to avoid repetitive stops.

Kualoa Ranch Movies Tour vs Jungle Tour

If the possibility of getting dirty on a thrilling jungle ride turns you away from the ATV tour, both the Kualoa Ranch Movies Tour and Jungle Tour would be great alternatives. I find the Movies tour and Jungle tour quite similar in that they both included stops at some of the filming sites.

However, the Movies Tour had more filming stops overall, and you might even get to see a filming in progress if you’re lucky. The Jungle Expediton Tour includes a short hike to a secluded lookout, where you can enjoy some stunning views.

If you’re a big movie fan, you may find the Movies tour more fun. If not, the Jungle Expedition tour has the perfect combination between stops at beautiful nature and filming locations.

Useful Tips for Kualoa Ranch Movies Tour and Jungle Tour : While most people will try to sit in the front of the shuttle, I find it better to sit at the end for both Hollywood Movie Sites Tour and Jungle Expedition Tour. That way, you will be the first to get off and take pictures before everyone else.

We were the first to get off at the Jurassic World movie site and we had so much time to explore and take photos without others in the frame. After that, we had more time to explore the sites while others were waiting in line for their turns to take pictures.
