Before moving to New York City, I completely underestimated just how much I would be walking on a daily basis and the importance of having the appropriate footwear to do so. Even on days when I simply go to the office and back home, I can easily rack up over 10,000 steps. After the first few months here, my feet were tired . However, almost two years later, I now like to consider myself a seasoned pro when it comes to finding the perfect everyday footwear for walkable cities . 

When I first started my search for finding a sneaker with great support, I needed something that was both comfortable but would also go with a variety of outfits. Sometimes, I prefer to not compromise my style for comfort, so when I found the New Balance 530 shoes , I was pleasantly surprised. The brand has been having a big moment lately for their footwear (even celebrities love them), and I can absolutely see why. If I have a day of errands or a planned hot girl walk, I grab these New Balance shoes for their all-day comfort and effortless style.

These New Balance sneakers are so comfortable thanks to the brand’s special “Abzorb” foam cushioning which supports your feet and absorbs any impact. The body of the shoe is made from a breathable mesh that helps your feet stay cool throughout the day. I’ve loved wearing these throughout the summer, and I’ve actively noticed the difference the mesh makes in comparison to some of my other athletic shoes; plus, the soles help me feel light on my feet.

The brand may have been known for their “dad shoes” at one point, but their recent designs have shown that New Balance knows how to refresh a product in ways that everyone will admire. The New Balance 530 is the perfect mix of contemporary and classic, and it’s also simple enough so it can work with almost any everyday outfit that you’d like to pair it with. The style currently comes in a few different colors, including options with touches of green, yellow, or red. I’ve grown to be rather fond of my pair that has hints of green against an off-white base. The style is neutral enough to go with the majority of my clothing, but it also has that subtle pop of color to help it stand out. 

Whether it be with a pair of running shorts and a sweatshirt or maybe a matching workout set, these are easy to throw on and quickly run out of the house without having to worry about if they fit the look. However, it can also be fun to pair these with something not as conventional. One of my favorite looks that I’ve styled these with included a gray blazer, a plain fitted tee, denim straight-leg jeans, and a baseball hat, and surprisingly, it worked. I’ve also seen these paired exceptionally well with dresses or skirts, along with dainty accessories. They’re the perfect pair of shoes to travel with simply because of their amazing versatility.

You don’t have to take only my word for how great these sneakers are. Everyone has been obsessing over the brand lately, from TikTok shoppers to stars like Hailey Beiber, Kendall Jenner, and Millie Bobby Brown who have been spotted in these New Balance shoes. 

Customers also rave about them. “I bought these to go on vacation because I knew I was gonna walk A LOT, and I was surprised about how comfy they are,” said one recent shopper. Several people also mentioned the different places that they love to wear these sneakers. 2 Delta employees killed, 1 injured after tire explodes at Atlanta airport facility

Two Delta Air Lines employees were killed and a third suffered major injuries at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta Tuesday, the airline confirmed.

The accident took place at the airline's TechOps maintenance facility , Delta spokesperson Samantha Facteau told USA TODAY.

Atlanta Police Department Major Kelley Collier told USA TODAY emergency crews responded to the scene about 5 a.m.

According to officials, a plane tire exploded while being changed, killing both employees and sending a third to a hospital to be treated for serious injures.

The extent of the third Delta worker's injuries was not immediately known.

“The Delta family is heartbroken at the loss of two team members and the injury of another following an incident this morning at the Atlanta Technical Operations Maintenance facility (TOC 3)," the company released a statement to USA TODAY. "We have extended our full support to family members and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.

“The Delta family is grateful for the quick action of first responders and medical teams on site. We are now working with local authorities and conducting a full investigation to determine what happened.”

'Heartbreaking for us all'

In a statement shared with staff obtained by USA TODAY, Delta TechOps Chief of Operations and President John Laughter told company employees the accident took place in the department's wheel and brake shop.

"Tragically, two of our team members involved passed away and one other team member was seriously injured," Laughter wrote. "We are extending our full support to their families at this difficult time and conducting an investigation to determine what happened. This news is heartbreaking for all of us."

"Please know your safety and wellbeing comes first − always, and that your leaders are here for you, the president wrote. "Please continue to take good care of yourself and one another."

The victims were identified as two Georgia residents: Mirko F. Marweg, 58, of Stone Mountain, and Luis Aldarondo, 37, of Newnan.

USA TODAY has reached out to airport officials, Atlanta Police and the Atlanta Fire Rescue department.

Exceptional experience. Exceptional service. Great selection. These guys have all your main luggage options- high end to entry level. We bought three suitcases (Briggs & Riley) and we are not disappointed. In fact, we went back to ask some advice on a warranty issue (from airline-inflicted damage), only to be so pleased, we bought another suitcase. They deliver on their promises. They work hard to ensure a good experience. I am sending my friends and family to Departures in Valley Fair.

Thanks to fellow yelpers, I found out where the former Noble Luggage store relocated to from the Great Mall. I (finally) made it in yesterday, where I encountered the wonderful Christina! She was patient, answering all of my questions and allaying my concerns around buying new luggage after many years. She is also a great multi-tasker, effortlessly giving 1:1 attention to the many other walk-in customers as well as even taking a phone call. The store is bright, happy and has a great range of luggage and travel products from various makers. The way she explained it to me, the high-end luggage is to the immediate left when you come in (Briggs & Riley and Tumi were prominently featured). The mid-range brands (Delsey, Samsonite, Bric's) were on the right and reduced-price items were in the rear. I really appreciated how there was absolutely zero pressure to make a purchase. As a woman of color, I also am always cognizant of store personnel treatment - happy to say that I was not followed around, stalked or otherwise asked fake-nicely umpteen times if I "need anything." The interaction with Christina was genuine. As a bonus, I even enjoyed the Native American flute music playing in the background - it was very soothing. In the end, after much deliberation, I purchased a new set of soft-sided Briggs & Riley luggage. Even though it is more than I have ever paid, I have done years of research and finally decided to switch to this brand because I am the type who holds on to my things for a very long time (I am a HUGE proponent of "price-per-wear/use") and they have a lifetime warranty (which, sadly, is becoming less and less common). As a bonus, they even had the color I wanted (gorgeous navy with chrome accents). Finally, Christina even made it easy to get my luggage (though it was my fault that I misunderstood the pickup location) by wheeling it through the mall and down to the ground level where she loaded it into my car. I highly recommend a visit here, especially if you are looking for something that is sold out online and/or otherwise hard to come by.

Great place to get luggage they are very friendly have plenty of items in stock bought my Briggs and Riley bag and they did the monogram for free.

Excellent customer service and lots of patience with me as I selected carry on luggage. It is important for you to have the right piece of luggage for carry on, United, Delta, American and Southwest all have different requirements . Always remember 9" X 14" x 22", select your luggage within these requirements and may your luggage fit the airlines space requirements. Some of the luggage they sale: Samsonite, Vitronix, Sherppa, Rimowa, Riley, etc. The first associate I worked with was Ajju (store manager), very patient and he presented 6 to 8 different sizes to look at. I purchased one carry-on luggage but when I went home it measured larger than the broken handle unit I had and measured the same I use for Europe travel. I called him up that night and asked him if I could return it for a smaller one. He said "Yes". Next day I met with Abhi and he helped me select one carry-on to my liking. I was impressed with his patience and his knowledge too. Let me tell you that Noble Luggage provides great customer service and they have a nice selection to choose from. HIghly recommend these guys at Noble Luggage at the Great Mall.

This store in Valley Fair is well stocked and plenty to choose from. The staff is super knowledgeable and helpful. We selected a large Samsonite for a Christmas present. I highly recommend.

I purchased three Briggs & Riley International carry on suitcases during the Memorial's Day weekend. The purchase was made over the telephone and received the receipt via email. The store did not have the navy blue color in stock so Ajju placed the order for the three suitcases on May 26, 2020, and I received them on May 30, 2020. Ajju is very professional and provided excellent customer service. I got a good price on the Briggs & Riley suitcases and received great service from Ajju and Noble Luggage store.

Great selection of products, great service! Had a problem with something we had purchased. It was handled without question and was taken care of immediately with the replacement of the item.

Just bought the Briggs & Riley international expandable spinner bag that I had been looking at online for a while. Walked in and was warmly greeted. I really appreciated the customer service as the gentleman working today wasn't the pushy salesman type, that I've experienced at other mall luggage stores. He simply explained to me all of the features, allowed me to see all the details that I wanted to look at, and explained the price point to me (B&R lifetime warranty, etc., etc.). Long story short I walked out of there with a new suitcase and a happy man. Highly recommend shopping here!
