FOUR WHEEL DRIVING ON K’GARI

When it comes to exploring K’gari, there’s only one way to do it, and that’s in a four-wheel drive. Whether you’re a veteran driver, or have never stepped foot in a four wheel drive before, our trusty Tour Guides will teach you all you need to know so you can get behind the wheel with confidence.

With every 4WD connected via radio, you can keep in touch with your Tour Guide and fellow adventurers as you hit the sand and begin exploring.

In order to drive, you do need to be over 21 years of age and have a valid driver’s license. Don’t want to drive? Not a problem, you can simply jump in the back seat and enjoy the ride!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Bring your own alcoholic or soft drinks. Drinking water is provided (No glass bottles please)
• Compulsory pre-tour briefing held at Nomads Noosa Youth Resort at 6pm the day prior to the departure to the island
• Tour departs from Noosa or Rainbow Beach. (If opting for a Rainbow Beach departure, please contact Island Expeditions ™ for directions to the pick up point)
• Passengers wishing to drive must be 21yrs of age & hold a valid driver’s licence (minimum of 2 years driving experience)
• Departure day: Please meet at Nomads Noosa reception no later than 6.30am. If you miss the departure you miss the tour!
• Sleeping bags + linen available on day of departure ($20 deposit payable in cash and fully refunded when returned to Noosa)
• For open dated bookings – allow a minimum of 7 days notice, up to 10 days in peak
• As it’s a genuine K’gari beach camping experience, daily swims in pristine freshwater lakes replace showers on this awesome adventure. Drinking water is provided
• Free luggage storage for bulky items at Nomads Noosa Youth Resort
• The Queensland Parks & Wildlife Department do not permit camp fires for tour groups camping in the National Park

Highly recommend booking your K’gari Fraser Island tour with this company if you plan to visit. Our accommodation was ideal and had everything you’d need – own toilet, toiletries, shower, beds, towels etc. The campsite was great. All our meals were included and cooked for us. Our tour guide Brett was fantastic, he had us up and out early every morning so we could enjoy the beautiful lakes and walks all to ourselves before other tour groups arrived. He knew so much history/stories about the island and its traditional owners, the Butchulla people, which added to the whole experience.

What a special place and what a place to stay. Our guide, Xavier, was on point with knowledge of the island and the culture. He has impeccable timing to take us places before the crowds. If you’re looking for a sustainable, interesting and very fun experience, I can truly recommend booking the 3 day tour with K’Gari Adventures! It was so worth it, we’ve spent so much time exploring the island, driving the cars on the beach and in the inland, our tour guide Troy was amazing!! He told us heaps of stories about himself, the island and its history and about the beautiful sky full of stars at night! We’ve seen all the attractions and we’ve always been the first ones to arrive, which I see as a result of the guide’s experience. The accommodation and the food was amazing and the whole group dynamics were nice. It definitely felt like a small group even though we’ve been quite a few people. Thank you!

Passionate guide, Great food & clean  accommodation

Most people who go and visit K’gari would probably absolutely love it but what I loved about this tour was our tour leader Mark and his clear passion and excitement about the island. With his history, stories and love for this island, it would be hard not to fall in love with this place and want to come back again (which I desperately do!) The food was great, the accommodation was clean and nice and the tour gave you just enough time in each place to enjoy it but also you visited so many different areas. I also liked that you did all the driving as that was all part of the experience. I would literally recommend this to anyone!
