The Eras Tour era might be over in the U.S., but that doesn’t mean you have to put your friendship bracelets up on the shelf. AMC Theatres announced on Thursday morning (Aug. 31) that it has teamed up with the singer to present Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour concert film, which will debut on thousands of screens beginning Oct. 13.

Taylor Swift’s Style Evolution, From 2006 to Now

Swift posted a trailer for the film as well, writing, “The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon. Starting Oct 13th you’ll be able to experience the concert film in theaters in North America! Tickets are on sale now at http://taylor.lnk.to/TSTheErasTourFilm… . Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged. 1, 2, 3 LGB!!!! (iykyk).”

The movie will also screen in IMAX and Dolby Cinema at AMC, as well as in other premium large formats for the standard up-charge fees, which varies by format and theatre. In anticipation of an expected rush of interest — perhaps learning from the chaos unleashed by Ticketmaster’s botched presale roll-out for the U.S. Eras Tour dates — AMC said it has upgraded its website and ticketing engines to “handle more than five times the largest influx of ticket-buying traffic” the company has experienced before.

The 80-second trailer for the film directed by Sam Wrench ( Billie Eilish Live at the O2 , Rhythm & Flow , BTS: Permission to Dance ) features a quick-cut of Swift’s many sparkling on-stage costumes from the tour cued to “Cruel Summer,” providing glimpses of the most iconic sets from the three-hour-plus performances. According to CNBC , like the marathon concerts, the movie will have a final runtime of two hours and 45 minutes.

AMC said that because of the unique nature of the event, no free movie passes will be accepted for the screenings, and AMC Stubs A-List cannot use their memberships to reserve tickets; AMC will also temporarily scale back its website ticketing availability for most of their other movie titles in anticipation of the rush of interest. In addition, to discourage speculation on secondary-ticketing sites no refunds will be offered on ticket purchases.

Taylor Swift's new Eras tour film is the latest lesson in 'Swift-onomics'

Cineplex confirmed the concert movie will play in more than 150 cineplex theatres.

canada eras tour movie

Social Sharing

If you weren't able to secure tickets to see Taylor Swift in concert in 2024 in Toronto, fear not — her Eras tour is coming to Canadian theatres.

On Thursday, Cineplex confirmed the concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour will play in more than 150 Cineplex theatres around the country starting on Oct. 13. The film will play Thursdays to Sundays.

"The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far, and I'm overjoyed to tell you that it'll be coming to the big screen soon," Swift said on her social media Thursday morning. "Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged… 1, 2, 3 LGB!!!! (iykyk)."

And with dozens of shows — spanning continents — still to go, the Eras World Tour is on pace to become the highest grossing tour of all time.

One estimate from research company QuestionPro says her tour could generate $4.6 billion for the U.S. economy alone.

The Taylor Swift effect

Swift's two shows in Colorado this summer led to a $186.9-million boost to the state's GDP for the year, a report by the Common Sense Institute found.

A similar boost was reported in Philadelphia after Swift performed three shows there in May.

"May was the strongest month for hotel revenue in Philadelphia since the onset of the pandemic, in large part due to an influx of guests for the Taylor Swift concerts in the city," the report read.

It's a phenomenon some people have playfully coined "Swift-onomics."

And experts predict the trend will continue during her Toronto shows. Ticket sales alone for those shows are estimated to reach $120 million, according to Daniel Tsai, a business professor at TMU.

Taylor Swift performing on stage.

And it's not just the concerts that are generating money.

"These are people who are coming from all across Canada, and so that means you're going to have people here who are ready to spend," said Tsai.

"You're bringing your family and you're going to go out, have meals and really spend big money to enjoy the moment."

So how much money is "big money"?

"Probably in the range of $600 to maybe even $800 million Canadian being generated," he said.

"Your spend in the stadium is one thing, but what you do outside of that will be even greater because you have to consider that hotels, for instance, have doubled ... what they're asking for in some cases," he added.

And while concert films — movies attached to an artist's tour — aren't exactly new, it's something that's having a bit of a moment right now, according to Sydney Urbanek, a culture critic who writes the pop star-centric newsletter Mononym Mythology.

Earlier this month, Metallica's M72 World Tour burst onto the big screen at Canadian cinemas as part of two live broadcasts from Arlington, Texas.

Experiencing concerts through film

"Pop music has a huge history of being in theatres, whether you're talking about A Hard Day's Night and all The Beatles films in the '60s or, you know, Purple Rain in '84," said Urbanek.

The resurgence of films centered around concerts can be traced back to Canadian pop star Justin Bieber's Never Say Never,  which premiered in 2011, she said.

The movie followed Bieber during the 10 days leading up to his performance at Madison Square Garden.

Since then, we've seen stars throughout the 2010s like Katy Perry, One Direction and even Celine Dion, try their hand at the concert movie.

But as streaming sites became more popular, the trend of concert films being released in theatres slowed.

Musicians embracing mini-residencies over mega tours

Urbanek points to examples like Beyoncé's Homecoming on Netflix, Kendrick Lamar's The Big Steppers Tour  on Amazon Prime and even Taylor Swift's earlier concert film from her Reputation tour, which appeared on Netflix.

But now, concert films releasing in theatres appear to be making a comeback, said Urbanek.

"It's like we're getting back in the direction of another one of those waves," she added.

The unique thing about the Eras tour movie, says Urbanek, is its timing. The movie is set to release on Oct. 13. Setting aside the fact the 13 is famously Swift's favourite number, Urbanek noted another interesting aspect at play.

"That's more than a year before the tour will end. So Canadians will get to see this concert film a whole year before she brings the show to Canada," she said.

"It might turn out to mean that the show is about to be tweaked."

These mysteries are all part of what experts say has become a winning marketing strategy for Swift.

Marketing 'genius'

From hidden meanings behind lyrics, to anagrams, to cryptic social media posts, Swift has always kept her fans guessing about what's coming next.

One 2021 post from Swift's Instagram, for example, teased song titles from "the vault" — new tracks on re-released Fearless (Taylor's Version)  album.

"She's always been very good at doing Easter eggs ... doing things that feel like they're really made for the fans," said Urbanek.

"She's a genius at social media marketing," Tsai told CBC News.

And this combination tour and film is no different.

"She's talked about how she wants them [fans] to wear Eras tour attire, friendship bracelets," said Urbanek. "So there's definitely this feeling that she's ... trying to replicate the experience of the show with this film."

The pop megastar will be in Toronto for six concerts over a 10-day period at the Rogers Centre in 2024.

"It's like our Super Bowl, it's our Olympics all rolled in one, all centred around Taylor Swift," added Tsai.

Canadian Taylor Swift Fans Finally Get to Experience the 'Eras Tour'

Taylor isn't coming for another year, but her concert film is doing big numbers across canada — especially in quebec, where everyone feels like they're front row..

Taylor Swift Eras Tour movie poster

Taylor Swift

She’s got good karma. For the second weekend in a row, Taylor Swift’s concert film The Eras Tour has dominated the domestic box office. The film broke records upon release, with the highest opening ever for a concert film, not adjusted for inflation, surpassing Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never . To date, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour has grossed around $130 million in North America, and that’s without screening from Mondays through Wednesdays.

For Canadian fans, this is their first chance to get a glimpse of the three-hour behemoth tour, which spans 17 years and 10 albums of her career. While the live tour began in March this year, it won’t arrive in Canada until November of 2024, where Swift is closing out the phenomenon with six performances at Toronto’s Rogers Centre. But it's not coming to Quebec (or anywhere else in Canada as of yet) at all, which makes it a unique experience for fans there. In its first weekend, it brought in $92 million in North America, and $650,000 in Quebec alone .

advertisement

The film has become a major communal experience everywhere, with clips of fans dancing in the aisles and belting along with the film showing up all over social media. But there seems to be a special energy in Canada, where fans have been making the most of Swift’s silver screen outing.

@alinecastro and that is how it went #taylorswift #theerastourmovie #theerastourcanada #montreal #montrealswifties

"It was a very surreal experience," says Saskia, a 29-year-old fan who attended a Montreal screening on Sunday. "I've never been to a screening where it was almost assumed that the audience would be singing, interjecting and standing up in the aisles to dance."

This celebratory atmosphere bridges the space between movie and live show. Talking to Billboard Canada , Saskia also noticed that everyone already seemed to know the order of the songs and the costumes accompanying each section. Eras Tour gives Swifties who have been following the tour from afar on TikTok the chance to experience it together, trading friendship bracelets and dressing up like their favourite Swift eras.

“Taylor never stops, and she does it all herself,” one fan told TVA in French. Another said that Swift has been her idol since she was 11 years old. Parents and kids have also been attending the screenings together, bonding over their shared love of the star.

Sandra, 38, took her daughter Lorelai to the Montreal screening instead of trying for hard-to-get Toronto tickets in 2024, TVA reports. “The tickets are very expensive,” Sandra explains.

Saskia agrees. "Knowing that going to the Eras Tour is out of reach financially and logistically for me and many other fans, this was a special chance to feel immersed in this spectacular performance."

Instead of working with a Hollywood distributor, Swift inked a deal directly with AMC theatres to screen the movie. The film is showing in nearly 4000 North American theatres, including Cineplex theatres in Canada as part of a sub-distribution partnership. It features footage from Swift’s Los Angeles shows at SoFi Stadium. Chock-full of chart toppers and outfit changes, the Eras Tour movie is a testament to Swift’s global superstardom and the many iterations of her artistry.

The movie begins with Swift in full popstar mode, belting “Cruel Summer” — which just went to No. 1 on the Hot 100, four years after its initial release. Over its two hour and forty five minute runtime, Swift takes the crowd back to high school with Fearless ’s “You Belong With Me”; dons a Disney princess dress for Speak Now ’ s “Enchanted”; enacts a domestic drama around Evermore ’s “Tolerate It”; strips things back for a rousing acoustic version of Midnights ’ “You’re On Your Own Kid”; and performs the full ten minute version of “All Too Well” in a dazzling floor-length red coat. Across each era, Swift’s core strength as a storyteller comes through.

In between planning and performing one of the best-selling tours of all time, Swift has also been re-recording her discography. The next installment, 1989 (Taylor’s Version), is set to arrive on Oct. 27.

Another major 2023 tour will also get the cinematic treatment this December: Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour will premiere as Renaissance: A Film by Beyon c é . If it's at all like Eras Tour , Montreal fans are probably already picking out their outfits.

Tegan and Sara

The Canadian pop duo are taking their latest graphic novel on the road for a series of conversations about first loves, junior high, and more across an eight-city book tour.

Tegan and Sara are taking their crushes on the road this fall.

The Canadian pop duo will bring the book tour for their new graphic novel Crush to nine North American cities in October. The new book is a follow-up to last year's autobiographical Junior High , and follows the tween twins as they try to survive grade eight.

The book tour will find grown-up Tegan and Sara chatting with writers like Jillian Tamaki, Elamin Abdelmahmoud, and Kosoko Jackson about the new novel. The conversation is sure to get nostalgic, promising to tackle topics like first loves, first songs, and more.

The Quin sisters from Calgary first made their name as an indie rock duo in the 2000s before ascending as pop stars in the 2010s, and have gone on to receive multiple Juno awards, Grammy and GLAAD nominations, and a Governor General's Award for performing art.

In recent years they've expanded into other mediums. The graphic novel series follows their 2019 memoir High School , which was also adapted into a TV show.

The sisters also founded the Tegan and Sara Foundation, which provides funding and support to LGBTQ+ communities across North America, and for which they were named Billboard Canada Power Players in 2024 .

Tickets for the Crush Book Tour go on sale Friday, August 16 on the duo's website . Find the full dates below.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour Concert Film Coming to Movie Theaters

A theatrical version of the billion-dollar tour — a cultural juggernaut that just ended its North American leg — opens Oct. 13.

Taylor Swift sings into a microphone onstage, wearing a sparkly leotard and high silver boots.

By Joe Coscarelli

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, the billion-dollar juggernaut that has dominated the cultural calendar this year, may be on a break before picking up internationally, but its momentum will only rest so long: The show is coming to movie theaters this fall.

“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” concert film will be released in the United States, Canada and Mexico on Oct. 13, Swift announced on social media Thursday, with U.S. AMC Theaters promising at least four showtimes per day from Thursday to Sunday upon opening.

“The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon,” Swift said. “Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged.”

Anticipating the white-hot demand that has followed the tour since its announcement, crashing ticketing systems around the world , AMC promised in a news release that it had “bolstered its ticket server capacity to handle traffic at more than 5 times the current record for the most ever tickets sold in an hour.” (The company added, however, that it was “also aware that no ticketing system in history seems to have been able to accommodate the soaring demand from Taylor Swift fans when tickets are first placed on sale.”)

Tickets are on sale now. Prices start at $19.89 for adults and $13.13 for children, substantially less than what fans paid for the tour itself — especially on the robust secondary market — as the concert industry adjusts to sometimes prohibitively high costs for its biggest events .

Swift, 33, wrapped this year’s North American dates with four shows in Mexico last week. Her downtime, though, will be brief. In addition to the movie version of the concert, the singer will release “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” the fourth of rerecorded original albums, two weeks later, on Oct. 27. By November, the Eras Tour will pick up in Argentina before traveling around the world in 2024, with dates — including nine additional U.S. shows — continuing into November 2024.

“1989 (Taylor’s Version),” the new edition of her 2014 pop blockbuster, marks Swift’s seventh release in barely three years, a period of artistic productivity that has fueled pent-up, post-pandemic demand for the singer’s live show. Jon Caramanica, a critic for The New York Times, said in a review of the first concert in March that the Eras Tour put on display “how many pivots Swift has undertaken in her career, and how the accompanying risks can have wildly different consequences.”

The trade publication Pollstar has estimated that the singer sold about $14 million in tickets for each show so far. By the end of next year, the 146 stadium dates could reach $1.4 billion or more in sales.

Everything you need to know about 'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’ movie

Swifties, it’s time to bust out your friendship bracelets again. The concert film “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” is heading to theaters.

While the movie was originally scheduled to roll out in theaters on Friday, Swift made an announcement on social media Wednesday, saying that theaters in the U.S. and Canada would start showing the movie early “due to unprecedented demand.”

That means you can expect enthusiastic moviegoers to sing, dance and swap friendship bracelets starting tonight.

Here’s what else to know about the theatrical concert film experience.

What was the Hollywood premiere like?

AMC Theatres hosted a world premiere for the movie Wednesday at The Grove mall in Los Angeles.

In typical “Mastermind” fashion, the event was full of surprises.

Swift showed up in a blue dress at around 5:30 p.m. P.T., according to Today.com. She posed with fans on the carpet. Later, inside, Swift addressed attendees.

The 12-time Grammy winner also had a special VIP guest — and no, it wasn’t her rumored boo Travis Kelce. Fellow music legend Beyoncé showed up to support Swift.

“Im so glad I’ll never know what my life would’ve been like without @beyonce‘s influence,” Swift wrote in an Instagram post caption of a photo of her and Beyoncé. “The way she’s taught me and every artist out here to break rules and defy industry norms. Her generosity of spirit. Her resilience and versatility. She’s been a guiding light throughout my career and the fact that she showed up tonight was like an actual fairytale.”

According to Today.com, around 2,000 people — including celebrities like Adam Sandler and Julia Garner — were lucky enough to snag a seat at one of 13 of AMC’s theaters inside.

“You care so much about these shows and that made all the difference for us,” Swift said to attendees inside. “It made us want to add even more shows and just keep doing the tour and I think that I just have never felt this way about anything, the way that I feel about this experience that we have had and continue to have. So, I am so proud.”

When was the movie filmed?

The concert film features footage from three of Swift’s Los Angeles shows at SoFi Stadium, where she performed a set list of over 40 songs. Professional filming equipment was spotted onstage during the shows Aug. 3-5.

SoFi Stadium is also where Swift concluded the first leg of the U.S. tour and on Aug. 9 announced the re-release of her album “1989.”

Where can I catch the movie?

The film will play in more than 4,000 movie theaters in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, including in all U.S. AMC locations, AMC said in a news release . It will also play at every ODEON Cinemas location throughout Europe.

In U.S. theaters, the film will have at least four showtimes per day on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at all AMC locations, the theater chain said .

Some showings are, of course, already sold out for this weekend — but you’ll likely be able to snag a seat at some point during the 13 weeks it’s expected to be in theaters.

Which surprise songs are in the movie?

There were two surprise songs at each of the concerts that were filmed, meaning there were six possible songs that had the potential to make final cut.

Those songs were: “I Can See You,” “Maroon,” “Our Song,” “You Are in Love,” “Death by a Thousand Cuts” and “You’re on Your Own, Kid.”

Spoiler alert : The surprise songs that made it into the film are “Our Song" and “You’re on Your Own, Kid,” from Swift's debut album and "Midnights," respectively.

Is the 'Eras Tour' movie a documentary?

No, this is a concert film — not like Swift’s Netflix documentary “Miss Americana.”

The movie has a runtime of 2 hours and 48 minutes, which is about half an hour shorter than her actual live show.

This means it is unlikely there will be behind-the-scenes or other documentary-style footage beyond the live concert itself.

Will people be dressing up in theaters?

AMCs might not be stadium arenas — where Swift’s concerts took place — but the concert film will likely not be a typical movie theater experience.

“Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged,” Swift said in her announcement post on Aug. 31.

Swifties are likely going to show up to the theater in everything from their Eras Tour merch to handmade costumes .

“I think there needs to be 2 separate theaters for the eras tour movie- one for cozy merch and chilling and the other for going absolutely feral in the outfit you didn’t get to wear to the live show,” one fan posted on the social media platform X .

Is Swift boosting the economy and reviving the theatrical experience with this movie?

Since the Eras Tour kicked off in March in Glendale, Arizona, it has been projected to become the highest-grossing tour of all time.

Now, the movie is expected to break records, too. Advance ticket sales have surpassed $100 million worldwide, according to The Associated Press . "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" is projected to surpass Justin Bieber's 2011 "Never Say Never" movie as the biggest concert film ever. Bieber's film grossed over $73 million, not accounting for inflation.

Even producer Jason Blum said Blumhouse Productions changed the date of its latest release, "The Exorcist: Believer," due to Swift.

"The one thing that scares me to death is Taylor Swift," he told EW .

"We had this amazing Friday the 13th in October, which is the single best day to release a scary movie... Obviously, we moved off that [date] and we bowed our head to Taylor Swift," he said.

Are movie theaters prepared for Swifties to take over?

Like with "Barbenheimer," this will likely be another big cultural moment. Movie theaters seem ready.

"Take your phone out," Greg Marcus, the chief executive and chair of the Marcus Corp., told the AP . "Take selfies. Dance, sing, get up, have a good time. We want to create an atmosphere."

He said in a TikTok video that there will be friendship-bracelet-making stations.

AMCs will be offering limited-edition items like “Eras Tour”-themed cups and popcorn buckets .

Can the 'Eras Tour' concert film win an Oscar?

Swift is now a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, but unfortunately the “Eras Tour” concert film will not be eligible for an Oscar.

Per academy rules, “Works that are essentially promotional or instructional are not eligible, nor are works that are essentially unfiltered records of performances.”

Under the current guidelines, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” and Beyoncé’s upcoming movie, “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé,” are both ineligible for Oscar contention.

If you couldn't afford a Taylor Swift ticket, or want to see the show again, or the show in your city was sold out, or want to see what the hype is about, there's good news.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Concert Film is coming to AMC theaters across the U.S., Canada and Mexico starting Oct. 13, Swift announced Thursday.

"The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I'm overjoyed to tell you that it'll be coming to the big screen soon," she said on Instagram . "Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged."

How three female artists lead this summer's billion-dollar pop culture revival

Pop Culture

How three female artists lead this summer's billion-dollar pop culture revival, local economies are getting a boost from taylor swift and beyoncé concerts.

Tickets for the tour went on sale on Ticketmaster in November 2022, but the process went haywire , as the website crashed multiple times, prices fluctuated, sales were canceled and fans were left waiting for hours, only to end up empty-handed. The fiasco prompted Congress to investigate Ticketmaster's business practices.

Economists estimate her tour could generate $5 billion by its end in November 2024. The average Swift concertgoer has spent almost $1,300 to attend, including the price of a ticket, plus things like merchandise, hair and outfits and a hotel and flight for travelers, Maura Klaunig, an analyst at Camoin Associates, told NPR.

But if navigating marked-up resale prices isn't your jam, you can catch the show on the big screen for a fraction of the price. A standard ticket is $19.89 (a nod to the title of her 5th album, maybe?) and $13.13 for children and seniors. Upgraded tickets are also available for IMAX and Dolby.

Tickets have already gone on sale on the AMC and Fandango websites. The movie will have at least four showtimes Thursdays through Sundays at every AMC location.

In anticipation of the demand, AMC said it has strengthened its website and online ticket servers to handle "more than five times the largest influx of ticket-buying traffic the Company has ever experienced before." Members of AMC's Stubs A-List program won't be allowed to use their rewards or discounts for the film, and AMC is temporarily reducing the amount of online tickets sold for other movies.

Still, AMC warned that customers "may experience delays, longer-than-usual ticket-purchase waiting-room times and possible outages" and will try to fix them as soon as possible.

AMC is also partnering with other movie theaters, including Cinemark in the U.S., Cineplex in Canada and Cinepolis in Mexico to get Swift on more screens.

The film is directed by Sam Wrench, who is behind similar concert films featuring Lizzo, BTS, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Billie Eilish, Jennifer Lopez and Pentatonix.

Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Movie Premieres on Austrian TV for Free in Partnership With Disney+ After Vienna Show Cancellations

Streaming platform Disney+ announced on social media that it partnered with Austria’s ORF to broadcast Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version ) on television for free Saturday night (Aug. 10), one of three evenings that Swift was supposed to perform live in Vienna. The Vienna Eras Tour dates, scheduled for Aug. 9, 10 and 11, were canceled earlier this week due to the threat of a terror attack at the city’s 65,000-capacity Ernst Happel Stadium.

The streamer addressed a letter posted to Swift’s fans (“Dear Swifties”) on the Disney+ DE Instagram account on Aug. 10 that, translated from German to English, announced the free TV showing of The Eras Tour film.

ORF, a national broadcaster in Austria, showed Swift’s concert movie at 9:45 p.m. local time on the public channel ORF 1.

Disney+ also offered a free 7-day trial subscription for those who wish to stream Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour on the platform in Austria and Germany. The announcement, which states the promotion runs through Aug. 12, is pinned to Disney+ DE’s account .

Three people were detained by Austrian authorities in connection with a potential terror attack at Swift’s now-canceled Eras Tour concerts in the city of Vienna. An 18-year-old man was arrested on Thursday, following previously reported arrests of 19-year-old and 17-year-old suspects taken into custody on Tuesday. Officials described a plot to carry out what could have been a mass casualty event over the weekend among the crowd of fans outside Ernst Happel Stadium.

Swift has not publicly commented on what happened in Vienna, with news of the event cancelations first delivered on Wednesday via Barracuda Music, the concert promoter for the pop star’s Austrian tour dates: “With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety. All tickets will be automatically refunded within the next 10 business days,” read the promoter’s statement, which was reposted by Taylor Nation, an account associated with Swift’s team.

Saturday night, as seen in the embedded posts from X (formerly Twitter) below, fans in Vienna posted snapshots and video clips while watching The Eras Tour concert film air on ORF 1 at bars, in hotel rooms and in the comfort of their own homes.

“not how we planned to spend our saturday night… but thankful that austrian tv decided to show the eras tour movie tonight,” wrote one of the Swifties in Austria.

Vienna, where Swift was set to play three nights in a row, was to be the second-to-last city on the map for the European leg of The Eras Tour.

The Tortured Poets Department hitmaker is currently scheduled for five nights at London’s Wembley Stadium (Aug. 15, 16, 17, 19 and 20), followed by a break before she resumes the tour in North America from October-December — with multiple dates in the cities of Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Toronto and Vancouver.

Some suggestive/provocative dance moves and costumes, especially in "Vigilante S--t." The performance for "Tolerate It" shows Swift touching a male dancer's face intimately while singing to him. Shirtless male dancer. Lots of references to love/romance in songs.

Drinking, Drugs & Smoking

Swift pours from a wine bottle into glasses on a table during the performance of "Tolerate It." Some lyrics reference drinking, specifically wine and champagne. One lyric references "doing lines"; another says "some guy said my aura's moonstone just cause he was high."

Positive Messages

Promotes hard work, perseverance, resilience, and unabashed self-expression. Emphasizes the value of friendship and the importance of celebrating love in all forms, cherishing memories along the way. Honors different life stages and the choice to both identify with and grow from them. Recognizes that good things are worth the wait, even if they're a long time coming.

Positive Role Models

Swift is an advocate, which shows not only through some of her music and lyrics but through the company she keeps. Along with her diverse group of backup singers and dancers, she's a memorable stage presence. All indications are that she remains humble and proudly dedicated to her fans, both newcomers and those who've grown with her.

Diverse Representations

Swift is a strong, independent woman with tons of agency. Her band is made up of White musicians, but her dancers and backup singers are a diverse group of women and men, with Black, Asian, and Pacific Islander representation. One Black male dancer who does a solo during the song "Bejeweled" has a larger body size. Queerness is celebrated through the anthem "You Need to Calm Down" and further expressed through the dancers' flamboyant costumes.

Great movie

What's the story.

Like the epic tour that spawned it, TAYLOR SWIFT: THE ERAS TOUR showcases much of what fans have come to expect from Taylor Swift : a focused, detailed performance that feels intimate while commanding worldwide attention. The premise of the tour stemmed partially from a COVID-canceled 2020 festival that had been planned for her seventh studio album -- and partially out of her eighth, ninth, and 10th studio albums, which were released during the pandemic. As Swift says during the show: "People would come up to me and say, oh, what are you gonna do now? Are you gonna do a tour that's, like, all of the albums? That's what, a three-and-a-half-hour-long show? And I was like yes, that is exactly what we're doing. I'm going to call it the Eras Tour. See you there." Most of the songs from the standard tour setlist are included, with a few cut for time.

Is It Any Good?

This electric concert film is several things at once: a celebration, a love letter, and a precedent. During Swift's 17-years-and-counting musical career, many of her fans have grown up with her. During that time, she's fallen into and out of public grace (and love), experimented with several musical genres, and -- through it all -- managed to remain relatable and musically relevant. Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour acknowledges all of those phases by celebrating the evolved relationship between Swift and her fans with each era she performs songs from. In other words, the film dedicates itself to that very dedication. And it begs the question: How will Swift possibly top a tour of this caliber? But as every Swiftie knows all too well, this concert movie is likely but one era of many more to come.

Talk to Your Kids About ...

Families can talk about the value of concert movies for audiences that don't get a chance to see the show live. How is the experience of watching Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour in theaters different from seeing a live show? Is it better in some ways and worse in others?

Which of Swift's eras do you connect with the most, and why? Did you gain more appreciation for a certain era after watching this movie?

What character strengths does Swift exhibit on stage? Does this movie inspire you in any way?

If you could ask Swift any question about this movie, what would it be?

Roddy Cons

Taylor Swift plays the last show of the European leg of the Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium in London on Tuesday (August 20) after which she will take a two-month break before embarking on its grand finale in the United States and Canada.

That’s right, the highest-grossing tour in history will come to an end before 2024 is out after 149 shows across five continents. The “Shake It Off” singer’s last date in London will be number 131, with the final 18 to get underway in at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on October 18 after she has recharged her batteries.

Remaining Eras Tour dates in the United States and Canada

Swift will have five venues and cities left to visit on the final leg of the Eras Tour: Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Caesers Superdome in New Orleans , Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis , Rogers Center in Toronto and BC Place in Vancouver . She will play three shows at each venue, with the exception of Toronto, where will have a five-night run.

Can I still get tickets for the final North American shows on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour?

Ticketmaster is the official ticketing platform for the Eras Tour but have no tickets listed for sale at present, which may change as the dates draw closer. If you are desperate to get your hands on Swift tickets as quickly as possible, some are being resold on other ticketing platforms such as Viagogo, Vivid Seats and SeatGeek, although the prices are eye-watering (for most of us, at least).
