As the snow settles, the Zuishinmon (red gate) appears in the distance, welcoming us to Togakushi's famous avenue of giant cedar trees. This dramatic scene is the start of a ninja-guided snowshoe tour.

Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage
The Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage tour is a fully-guided walking tour between the vibrant modern city of Osaka, the mountain temple community of Mt. Koyasan and the Japanese Imperial shrine at Ise. UNESCO includes only two pilgrimage routes in its World Heritage list. One is the famous Camino de Santiago through Spain's northern provinces.

Daniel and Jon, Pickleball Trips co-founders, grew up in Japan and attended public Japanese schools. As a result, they are both fluent in the language and experienced in the culture. Daniel lives in Japan and has worked in the outdoor travel industry there. He also brought pickleball to Japan and has helped grow it over the last decade.
Moving to Japan
Before I tell you about what I will be doing in Japan, let me tell you about the last two months. October was the busiest month of my life. Between my two Walk Japan tours, we pulled off the first ever pickleball tour of Japan. We took 13 people, introduced Japanese people to pickleball and saw more than most Americans ever will.
