We use a variety of vehicles to carry out our services. During the week it is more likely that 8 seat minivans and 13 seat minibuses will be used whilst at the weekends when volumes are higher we will use a variety of coaches.

Let’s start with the basics, where is Morzine?

Like many resorts in the region, Morzine is actually in the French Alps but is extremely close to the border with Switzerland. This means it’s easily accessible from both nations.

For example, Morzine is just an hour away from Geneva Airport, making it one of the region’s most easily accessible resorts. Plus, it’s just 20 miles from the stunning Lake Geneva, so if you fancy a day away from the slopes to marvel at a piece of natural Swiss beauty while on your trip, Morzine is always a good option.

More specifically, Morzine is part of the extensive Portes du Soleil ski area which is home to a wide range of ski resorts. This means it’s also possible to visit other resorts and experience different slopes if you feel like it.

Morzine is known for its charming alpine village atmosphere, extensive ski area and a wide range of winter activities to enjoy, making it one of the most popular choice for skiers and snowboarders alike.

Morzine sits at the very heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, and boasts an impressive altitude of 1,000m. If you fancy something slightly higher, its sister resort Avoriaz offers heights of 1,800m and can be easily reached from Morzine if you wish to use the resort as your base to visit other places nearby.

However, altitude is not always the be-all and end-all.

In fact, many of the lower slopes at Morzine are regarded as better due to the fact that the pistes are built on pasture land. This means it’s less rocky and generally easier for snow to settle on making for a smoother skiing experience.

The best time for skiing in Morzine is from December to April. However, this window may change depending on the weather conditions across the season.

During February, Morzine can be very busy with the half term school holidays in the UK and Europe taking place, so make sure you book in advance to get the best deals if you are travelling at this time.

Morzine is located just over an hour away from Geneva Airport, making it one of the most easily accessible ski resorts in the Alps.

If you do decide to fly into Geneva, there are then a number of options you can take to get to Morzine. Using a transfer directly from the airport is perhaps the easiest way, as you won’t have to fork out for a cab or navigate the mountain roads in a hire car.

Both private transfers and shared transfers are available depending on what you’re looking for.

If you’re going skiing, then you’re going to want to make sure there’s snow on the ground. It’s pretty much a minimum requirement!

Well, with Morzine you’re in luck.

The snow in Morzine is considered to be reliable with around 400cm falling per year. This is combined with snow-making technology, like snow cannons, which add to the natural elements that mean skiing can generally be enjoyed at Morzine all year round.

Morzine has some of the most popular and reputable ski schools in the Alps, which are perfect for beginners and offer skiing lessons and guidance from exceptionally talented and qualified instructors.

Historical Morzine had a large UK population and regular visitors so naturally a lot of the ski schools have great English speaking guides & instructors .

Whether your group is full of avid skiers, you’re all rookies or you have a mixture, Morzine is a great option for you.

Beginners can be apprehensive when hitting the slopes for the first time, but Morzine is full of ski schools and has access to fantastic teachers who can help even the most wobbly-legged skier perfect their form.

The resort has dedicated beginner’s areas for both skiers and snowboarders and has three green (easy) runs and 29 (average) ones to help people get to grips with the activity.

Yes! From the picturesque village with its shops, restaurants, and cafes straight through to ice climbing, paragliding and apres ski, Morzine has something for everyone, both on and off the slopes.

Morzine is one of a few ski resorts to hold the prestigious Famille Plus label. This award means that Morzine is considered family-friendly and is perfect for little ones of all ages. Not only are there child-friendly slopes, but childcare is also on offer if you want to attempt something a bit more adventurous without worrying about the kids.

Furthermore, there is a swimming pool and daily kids events to keep them occupied at all times. There’s also a penguin-themed boardercross that, as well as helping with skiing skills, provides the little ones with educational information about the local wildlife and which will maybe even see them catch a glimpse of one of the magnificent eagles that occupy the skies in the region.

Accommodation is another thing that is always high on the priority list when organising a skiing trip.

Fortunately, Morzine has something for everyone.

Whether you’re embarking on a family holiday, a trip with friends or a romantic getaway for two, Morzine is full of hotels, chalets and apartments that are suitable for any budget, party size or other requirements.

Due to its proximity to Geneva Airport, it’s no surprise that Morzine is one of the most popular ski resorts in the world. With this in mind, the town can quickly get filled up, especially during peak ski season.

Therefore, accommodation slightly further afield shouldn’t be ignored. For example, there are numerous towns and villages located along the neighbouring Dranse valley, many of which seamlessly link up with the resort through a network of ski lifts.

While slightly further away from the main Morzine amenities, they’re likely to be less crowded and perhaps even cheaper. Consider what you want to prioritise before booking accommodation to ensure you have everything you need when you arrive.

Welcome to Morzine

Morzine is a thriving Alpine village set deep in the Chablais mountain range, between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, by the France-Switzerland border. It has grown over the years to become a charming ski resort in winter and a popular biking, hiking and alpine climbing destination in summer.

Although the village is situated at a relatively low 900m, its network of lifts reaches the panoramic Chamossière at 1800m and Avoriaz at 2100m. You may not be able to ski back to your accommodation at the end of the day but the extensive lift system means you'll make it home whatever the snow cover.

Morzine is just over an hour's drive from Geneva Airport and is located the middle of one of the biggest ski areas in the world, the Portes du Soleil. The resort is filled with cruisy, tree-lined blue and red runs, and it's also linked directly to the ski resorts of Avoriaz and Les Gets.

For your pick up from Morzine you will be given an ESTIMATED time of pick up at the point of booking based on the flight time you give. This will be confirmed the morning before travel and could be adjusted. We pick up from several locations for each transfer, so your pick up time will be adjusted depending on where you are in the order of pick ups. We endeavour to get you to the airport 2 hours before your flight.

As with departures at the busy times of the season your transfer could be on a coach from resort. We will still pick you up from your address in a shuttle bus and take you to the coach.

Travelling with a standard ticket?

If you miss your transfer, you can be assigned to the next available transfer by paying the “Rescue fee”.

Morzine Express Line

This is our cheapest service running at the busiest periods of the day between Geneva airport and Morzine bus station, stopping at Les Gets and Taninges on route.

This is a pre-booked service, servicing the easy to get to stops in the Morzine. So it will only pick-up and drop-off at these points if they have been booked. It is also run in conjunction with our door-to-door service, so there may be other drop offs/pick ups besides the ones that are on our P2P service.

Your transfer might be operated in a coach

We know some of you are not big fans of travelling in a coach. However, to offer the best service to each of our passengers and avoid long hours of waiting at the airport, it is the best solution. Mountains are great but let's be honest the narrow roads aren't always accessible by coach. To face this problem, we put at your disposal a "feeder," a mini-van that will take you straight to your door.

Plus they are environmentally friendly. Coaches are among the cleanest, greenest vehicles on our roads, with average carbon dioxide emissions per passenger per journey being around 5 times lower than air travel and 6 times lower than car travel.

Baby seats are not mandatory in coaches in France and Switzerland.

Private Transfers

Upon booking, you will be given an estimated time of pickup, either from the airport or from your resort. This is then confirmed the day before travel.

From the airport we schedule your departure between 45 mins and 1hr 15 mins from your flight arrival, depending on the number of passengers, luggage, day of the week etc.

For departures from your resort to the airport, we aim to get you to the airport 2 hours before your flight. Therefore, from Morzine, we schedule you around 3hrs 45 mins before your flight departure. This can vary depending on where you are in the resort, weather or our schedule. As a private customer, you can adjust this time as you like, and we will do our best to accommodate you depending on our schedule for that day.

*There are certain places within the Morzine and the surrounding area that we can not access, these areas have been allocated a meeting point. Please see the map below to see if your address falls in a no-go area and what the closest meeting point is.

Swisstours user reviews.

SwissTours

SwissTours receives high marks for punctuality, cleanliness, and comfort. Many users appreciate the professional drivers and smooth journeys. However, some reviews mention issues with chaotic boarding processes and confusion due to unclear signage at stations. Additionally, several customers expressed concerns about delays caused by unnecessary stops in Geneva when heading to the airport. Overall, SwissTours provides a reliable service but could benefit from improved organization at bus terminals.

Driver was on time! Even ahead of time so that we were all ready to go 15 min ahead of time!

Bus was there early, loaded passengers (full bus), and we left on time and arrived on time. Not sure why he dropped us off on street rather than in parking lot (it only had 3 buses), but it was no big deal

Bus comfy. Room for luggage. Signage for bus could have been better. Driver polite

Very efficient service and smooth journey. A pleasure to travel that way!

Prompt and very helpful getting everyone on a bus.

The bus driver was very careful.
