Pasuquin Caves: A Non-stop Exciting Adventure at Ilocos Norte!

Spelunking at Pasuquin Caves, Ilocos Norte is another activity for thrill-seekers. It is located 1,708 above sea level, has underground water streams, and offers spectacular stalagmite and stalactite formations.

Travel time to the caves is 45 minutes from the town proper through a dirt road, and you will need to get a special permit from the mayor's office to explore the cave. The trip is definitely worth it! You might even be fortunate to meet members of the Itneg Tribe, the original inhabitants of the town. There are a few of them still living in the thick forests, untouched by modern civilization. It is very ideal for those who wish to go spelunking, trek up the mountains, and explore the Imelda Garden Caves.

How can you get there?

• By Land: Partas, GV Florida Transport, Dominion Bus Lines, Philippine Rabbit, and Fariñas Transit have regular trips that will take you directly to Laoag City. Travel Time: From Manila to Laoag City, 10-12 hours. So, I advise you to have a night trip for this. • By Plane. Take a direct flight from Manila to Laoag via Cebu Pacific or Philippine Airlines. Travel Time: From Manila to Laoag City is about an hour. Flights are usually at night, so better make the necessary adjustments on your itinerary.

From Laoag City to the jump-off point is a  45-minute drive.

Accommodations in Laoag are also available. There are lots of inns and hotels throughout the town offering comfortable rooms and cottages at a reasonable price.

Pasuquin is a third class municipality in the province of Ilocos Norte, Philippines. According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 27,952 people. Pasuquin is a farming and fishing area.
