We are Sydney's only specialist craft beer and microbrewery tour operator. We are all about getting you closer to your beer and those who brew for you. Our philosophy is simple - collaboration. We love bringing people together. We bring together people wanting to taste and experience the craftsmanship of our local producers. In doing so, we are supporting the passions and dreams of those who are bringing to market some of the finest beer available. We want to bring people closer to the toil and strife of what it takes to produce fine craft beer. To us, it's more than the art and science of brewing or the mechanics of a microbrewery, it's the stories, the legends, the scars of effort and devotion to doing something different. It's about connecting people who are passionate about what they consume with those who are equally as passionate about what they produce. We promise that you will have a great day out, meet some interesting people and taste some amazing locally produced beers along the way. We will get you to here and there and home again, far richer in knowing that little bit more of the micro-miracles happening around us. What could be better than that? …

We spent our last night in Sydney with Jamey tasting some yummy Australian craft beers in the Surry Hills part of Sydney. He made it really fun and we learned a lot too ! From now on we will smell our beer before drinking it just like wine ! We will also not schedule a beer tour right before a 20 hour flight home the next morning. Cheers Jamey and maybe we will see you for a beer cruise to NZ!
My friend and I were recently in Sydney and had the pleasure of going on a private brewery tour with Dave himself! That guy is truly a star. We visited 4 local breweries and got VIP access to taste fresh delicious beers and got to know the history and culture of the craft brewing industry in Sydney. I was impressed with his beer knowledge and connections, we truly felt like part of the community ourselves. I can't wait to return and do it again! Cheers to Aussie beer- thanks Dave!

Time Out says
Dave’s Brewery Tours are a great way to find out about Sydney’s craft beer scene while exploring parts of Sydney you may not be familiar with and, of course, getting to drink tasty beers. At the Northern Exposure tour of Northern Beaches breweries you’ll be greeted by knowledgeable guides Tom and Jamie, who will take you to three Australian breweries. Nomad is home of the Freshie Salt and Pepper Gose and the Cruisin’ Pale Ale, both of which are perfect for a hot summer day. Mona Vale’s Modus Operandi is where you learn about the history behind the name of Former Tenant Red IPA. Then there’s 4 Pines, a giant among craft breweries whose range of beers is as impressive as their microbrewery set-up. The Northern Exposure tour is lengthy but includes burgers and tastings.
Been there, done that? Think again, my friend.

The Craft Beer Down Here with Dave’s Brewery Tours
M ention “Foster’s” in Australia and you are guaranteed a look of disgust. This shouldn’t come as a surprise. Big beer brands around the globe are becoming taboo. As I have found in towns from Portland Oregon to Cape Town South Africa , Joe Beer Drinker is fed up with watered down and commercially backed beer. Sydney Australia is no different. To help me explore this better-beer revolution down under I spent an afternoon with Dave’s Brewery Tours, a Sydney Brewery Tour that is out to educate the Beer-illiterate.
Table of Contents
From the rest of the world’s point of view, Foster’s comes out of every counterclockwise pouring tap in Australia. Our afternoon was out to prove otherwise…and it started off right. At 2 PM on a Tuesday afternoon the Keg & Brew Hotel , a Surry Hills neighbourhood favourite, was hopping. I finished off my pint of Steam Ale , a Melbourne craft brew I had fallen in love with while touring the great ocean road , when our ride showed up. “Cybal,” a customized cargo van with Dave’s Brewery Tours plastered on the side, and the man himself were ready to share the up-and-coming craft beer scene in Sydney.
Let’s do this.
As he drove us to Young Henrys , one of roughly 15 craft breweries in Sydney, Dave gave us a rundown on the day ahead. In-between the itinerary you could pick out the craftiness of this craft beer fan. Fed up with the grind, Dave left a director position at an engineering firm to start this tour. This may sound like one of those “follow your dreams and everything will work out” stories however Daves’s methodical approach to starting this company proved there is a little more to it. It involved hard work and a research trip that took him up the Pacific Northwest to see some of the best breweries in North America. He took tours and notes in an effort to put forth the best product possible in his hometown of Sydney. If that’s not a determination I don’t know what it is. Then again, I’m 3 pints in.
Schools in.
Dave’s business sense isn’t the only secret to Dave’s Brewery Tours’ success. He also really loves beer. From his first sip of warm “Emu” out of a Vegemite glass he shared with his grandfather, he had found his passion. That statement also counts as the most Australian thing I’ve heard on my trip down under, but the sentiment was not lost. It’s good to be passionate about what you do. It’s also good to know your product and Dave’s Brewery Tours knows beer. After a sampler at Young Henrys which included wheat beer made with mussels (Think beer and Clamato minus the tomato) Dave gave us a full-on lesson in beer making. Unlike other beer tours I had taken, the guides of take the reins and give the behind-the-scenes tours when possible.
After the awesome and highly detailed lesson of all that is beer, I was convinced to start a brewery of my own. Then again I was now filled with 4 pints of liquid inspiration.
Higher Learning
As we made our way to the next stop I commented on Dave’s impressive beer knowledge. Then he told me about the Institute of beer – a school he started to help spread the good work. If you are on the fence about taking one of Dave’s Brewery Tours, this fact alone should prove you are in good hands. He built a freaking beer school!
Remember when I was on a “craft beer Tour” in Adelaide and questioned the difference between an Australian IPA and a North American the hostess at Vale Brewery couldn’t answer it? That is what Dave is trying to abolish.
Amen to that.
While sampling the selection at Batch Brewery our group got into the conversation of beer prices in Australia. In short, it ain’t cheap. That’s when it hit me. This afternoon of amazing beer with Dave’s Brewery Tours is one hell of a deal . Now on the equivalent of six pints I started doing the math. It took a while but 3 brewery stops and samplers at each + transportation + an awesome guide = a win. Dave’s Brewery Tours are not only a fun choice, it’s a fiscally responsible one as well.
That I can get behind.
Experience the REAL Beer Down Here
After our choose-your-own-adventure sampler at the Rocks Brewing Co . our day with Dave’s Brewery Tours concluded back where it started…at a pub. We had gone full circle except I had arrived back with a better appreciation of Australian beer and a hefty buzz. This informative and super fun day was a welcome change after 3 months of sh*t beer in Asia and was a unique way to see the city with some genuinely cool people.
I’ve said it before, and I will say it again; craft beer tours are a great way to see a city and Dave’s Brewery Tours may just be one of the best out there.
Then again, I am 7 pints in.
Note: Zero Fosters were consumed while documenting this day out with Dave’s Brewery Tours.

At a brewery.
Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy stopped by Alternate Ending Beer Co . in Aberdeen to try its pies.
To be clear, the kitchen is run by Talula's , an Asbury Park-based restaurant whose website touts sourdough pizza.
Portnoy, on the second stop of his "One Bite" review tour, said the pie was Detroit-style, and more of a winter pizza.
"It looks heavy, it is heavy," he said. "It's good stuff — it's heavy."
His final score? 7.2.

Inspections and Registrations
How the new texas car inspection law affects end-of-year stickers.
Texas inspection sticker
Beginning January 1, 2025, Texas vehicle owners will no longer be required to obtain a safety inspection prior to vehicle registration.
House Bill 3297, passed during the 88th Legislature in 2023, abolishes the vehicle safety inspection program for regular cars and trucks. (The Department of Motor Vehicles notes that commercial vehicles will still be required to undergo safety inspections.)
Texas will now join the 36 other states in the U.S. that do not require safety inspections. This change means that car or truck owners will now take personal responsibility for making sure that what they drive doesn’t pose a danger to anyone inside or outside of the vehicle.
Texas State Sen. Mayes Middleton spoke for us all in May 2023 when he said that “vehicle inspections are costly, time consuming and provide little benefit to public safety."
Fees Drivers will still have to pay the annual $7.50 safety inspection fee, under a new name: Inspection Program Replacement Fee, as part of the registration fee. Those registering a new car will pay a $16.75 Inspection Program Replacement Fee to cover the first two years.
Emissions While the safety inspection is a thing of the past, emissions is not: 17 counties will still have to submit to emissions inspections prior to registration.
Emissions inspection tests are still required in these 17 counties:
- Houston-Galveston area: Brazoria, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, and Montgomery counties
- Dallas-Fort Worth area: Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, and Tarrant counties
- Austin area: Travis and Williamson counties
- El Paso County
Slacker info In a statement , Staff Sgt. Rob Mallory with the Texas Highway Patrol says that "if your inspection is expiring in the next couple of months, you still need to go down and get your state inspection done in order to renew your vehicle registration for another year."
And according to a representative from the DMV, you have five business days after your current sticker expires to get a new one. This refutes common urban legends such as "you have 10 days," "you have 30 days," and "you have 6 months."
However, let's say you're a slacker whose sticker expires in December (or even November, if you're a real slacker) — and you don't renew your registration until January. You could theoretically get away with not having to get an inspection. They won't make the safety inspection retroactive.
For non-slackers: Ensure your vehicle has passed an inspection no earlier than 90 days before renewal, and include a copy of the passing Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) if it cannot be electronically verified. Plus a copy of current proof of insurance.
2 Dallas suburbs top list of the fastest growing cities in America
Loads of people are moving to Texas and a new report proves that's true, especially in two suburbs of Dallas.
Called “Top U.S. Cities Leading in Population Growth,” the study ranks 25 cities across the U.S., and two DFW cities made the top 10: Frisco and McKinney.
The study, from an online casino site called Casino of the Kings , analyzed U.S. cities with the fastest development to identify the ones that have the biggest population growth.
Nine metrics were used, including infrastructure investments (economic and neighborhood development), housing development, job growth rate, and unemployment rate.
Two surprising cities hit the top two slots: Goodyear, Arizona came in at No. 1 with a population increase of 42.02 percent; and St. George, Utah came in at No. 2.
Frisco ranked at No. 3 in the study due to its 22.2 percent population growth over the past five years, growing from 188,170 residents in 2019 to 229,846 in 2024. The city has the second biggest infrastructure investments, which pulled in $120 million, trailing only behind Goodyear Arizona’s $232 million.
Frisco saw 36.8 new houses built per 1000 existing homes. Jobs increased in the city at a rate of 4.5 percent, and unemployment is at 3.2 percent.
McKinney ranked at No. 4, with a population growth increas of 18.7 percent over the past five years: from 191,645 in 2019 to 227,567 in 2024. The city welcomed infrastructure investments of $100 million.
The city saw 35.3 new houses built per 1000 existing homes. Job growth in the city is up by 4.5 percent.
According to the study, McKinney has a 3 percent unemployment rate, the lowest amongst all Texas cities in the ranking.
In other Texas cities, Conroe took 7th place, with a population increase of 22.75 percent and the second-highest investments per person at $673.36. Infrastructure investments totaled $75 million.
League City, Texas, ranked 8th, with a population growth rate of 19.9 percent. Jobs in the city grew by 3.2 percent, and unemployment in League City was one of the lowest in the list, amounting to 3.1 percent.
The top 10 fastest-growing U.S. cities are:
- No. 1 – Goodyear, Arizona
- No. 2 – St. George, Utah
- No. 3 – Frisco, Texas
- No. 4 – McKinney, Texas
- No. 5 – Meridian, Idaho
- No. 6 – Nampa, Idaho
- No. 7 – Conroe, Texas
- No. 8 – League City, Texas
- No. 9 – Port St. Lucie, Florida
- No. 10 – Buckeye, Arizona
The full report and its methodology can be found on Casino of the Kings .
